  1. i have the same problem ive never done anything about it its great if you lock your keys in the car but sucks when it falls inside of the door or if its off track alittle its on my list of things to do i have a replacement door and could always glue it back in but it dosent bother me enuff too do anything about it
  2. i cut mine up in to 3 pieces and tosed it in the back of a pick up truck with a few other items left over from my scout repower project pulled $200+ for the steel its worth taking it in your self if you can
  3. im in the middle of the same swap 99 lego 2.2 to 2000 forester sofar so good the throtle body is different and the exaust is different and a few sensers are different nothing big and sould all be on the old motor thats all i noticed so far seems easy enuff
  4. i love my ac and my inverters and yes i can run a skill saw off of a inverter or just about anything that dosent require clean power ive run a small cabin off the inverter with a tv computer lights and radio for hours never tryed a compressor though they do make high cfm 12v pumps ive had a few good ones but they do always fry i have in a pinch used my exaust to inflate the tire i got to 20psi in seconds but thats all i could get out of it but hay its enuff to get back on the trail and to a gas station it was just the hose from the fried compresor wraped with cloth pushed up to the exaust pipe while someone else was reving the engine its not easy but it dose work ive also herd of pulling a spark plug and screwing in a air hose for air on the trail i dont know if you could or would want to run air.tools like that though
  5. we got them all in the bay area at the moment there where 4 more on there way in in the 2 different yards we went to
  6. your my hero thanks for posting just got back scored disk brake conversion and a lsd rear and my buddy picked up a ej 22 thanks again enjoy
  7. multi spark ignition like a msd box or a procomp or somthin lile that it helps alot at lower rpms and i have noticed up to 10mph differance pulling big hills ive tested it a few times with the box hooked up and with out it also picked up a few mpgs aswell i picked up my procomp al6 for $100 brand new open box worth every penny
  8. ive found that if i can get to the back side of the clip i can use a small deep socket and slide it over the tabs that stick thrugh the body and the clips come right off with out breaking cant get to all of them though
  9. its not what you sead its how my mind herd it maybe i just herd that commercial before i read your post but like a tree falling in the woods kinda thing you know i also had blown a clutch on a long weekend of wheelin but i can fix it anywhere any"day"time so again its not a big deal i just changed out the disk about 45 min no biggie but that was a extreme situation i had the front end of my 2wd ranger prerunner nose down in to a tree the 4x4s i was with couldent get to me to pull me out i just hammered on it til the clutch expoded but like i sead 45 min no watching other poelpe wheel but still slipping the clutch is reserved for extreme situation and not a habit to get in to however if it comes down to i just need alittle more power to make this hill climb then ya alittle slippage isent going to hurt it will raise the rpms just enuff to finnish the hill where if you stall its back to the bottom and try again and again and backing down isent always easy im not dissagreeing with you at all im just saying from experience theres a time and a place to slip the clutch and yes they do ware out bummer change it wheel on
  10. i beat it 100 miles from home within aaa range just incase i rip out the suspension cant flat tow on 3 wheels and again it was towed down because my buddy dident want to sleep in a tent so we needed 2 rigs he bought that rig just for the trip from me 3 days before we left and he dident want to drive and gas for 2rigs is more than gas for 1 towing i have other rigs other more "capable" rigs but the loyale is much more fun for the reasons you mentioned just a few weekends ago at carnagie i had a guy ask what kind of lockers i was running and who made my transfer case i just laught passend him some good spoob and poped the hood sead no lockers open diffs and all subaru and a home made lift it took a minnute and he sead sweet i cant do that and there where drivin dig chevys and yotas
  11. i never sead it wasent good advice it surely is i figured that out over 20 years ago and figured everyone else figures this on there first or second off road trip i just thought it was commin knowledge like not wraping your thumbs around the steering wheel and keeping a loose grip while wheeling so u dont break your thumbs or wrists i dident realize these kids hadent figured it out or are just figureing it out kids today think they invented the stuff but anyway on underpowered undergeared rigs some times you have to slip the clutch its just another tool to use when wheelin its a good way to keep the rpms up and keep the motor in the sweet spot in high traction situations think 2stroke dirt bike on a hill climb these motors do have alot of torque off idle and can idle through alot but its still limited the clutch on my car is old and needed to be replaced when i put it in its a ware item like breaks if you have the car long enuff your gona have to change them i should have used the new clutch when i swaped the motor in but i dident feel llike it and it lasted over a year and 4 wheelin trips not to bad and i could put it in now but its in my back up 94 loyale now and i dont want to mess with that rig right now ill just get a new one and besides clutches are cheap and easy to install and i ant trippin on it the worst part of it all is i have to drive the outback till i can get the new clutch in no biggie
  12. a short inside video i couldent hold the camera and drive so it realy isent worth watching but hey here it is
  13. did you know you could save bla bla bla in 15 min everybody knows that but did you know you can ------------------ sounds like a insurance commercial
  14. rock protection works great it had a lift till the struts colapsted and i lost more wait than added the subs added the most waight and towing the car was more about a place to sleep than anything the rock ledge i tried to go up was on back door so i could have only made it a few more feet till a 4 ft ledge would have stoped me i was by myself and it dident seem that important and 1000 miles from home isent the best place to beat the living spoob out of little wagon im mean sit if i was realy wanted to wheel i would take the scout thats built for that isht the suby is my daily and my play toy and im havin fun with it its alot more challenging than the point and shoot scout i just got back from johnson valley last night for a quick camping trip no wheelin just campin and sand running in the imprezza its alot nicer this time of year and alot more to do than just crawl rocks monsteru please come play ill give your little drunk rump roast a run for your money jib awsome is there a link to your pics i hate people so i hang out at cell phone hill away from the crouds i only go in to hammer town for the porta potties but thats cool would love to see the pics any video i havent seen crawls coverage yet but they always do a good job i just wish they did more
  15. i gained a lot of driveability by adding a procomp ignition (same as msd only cheaper) and pulling the mechanicle fan and replacing it with a electric one again i dont think i gained any more power it just made what i have more usable exaust dident make a noticable differance to spend any money on but sure sounds better
