  1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/90-98-2-2-L-Subaru-Impreza-Legacy-EJ22E-Head-Gasket-Set-/220951793818?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3371c0d09a&vxp=mtr I came across this listing tonight, looking to get a bunch of gaskets for my ej reseal. My RA cart is already up to a hundred something. This kit lists an "interchange part #" Fel-Pro: HS9854PT , HS9854PT-1. I'm thinking that means it's just comparable to the fel pro kit? Not actual fel-pro gaskets? Anyone know of a good gasket set to get?
  2. Cam support o-ring on front of drivers head Cam plug o-ring on rear of passenger head I'm getting my cart all ready to go on rockauto, but can't seem to find these ^^ things. Anyone know what else they are called?
  3. Long day under the car today. I finished installing my subframe spacers. 1 1/4 inch for the engine xmember, 1 inch on the radius rods and tranny xmember, and 1/2 inch on the plate under the tunnel and the carrier bearing bracket. Also got some fresh newly booted OEM axles on there as well, thanks to Czny. I'll be digging into the legacy in the next few days, ordering my gaskets and such for the EJ tonight, still on the fence about headgaskets. I may just go ahead and do them while I've got the engine out.
  4. That's what I ended up doing. looking down into the holes it appears they might be reinforced, but they aren't really.
  5. So I got the spacers and the hardware from an outback, went in to install today, and of course the bolts from the outback are like twice as thick as the GL ones. Anybody see any reason I shouldn't drill out the holes to fit the outback bolts? I'd rather not have to make a parts run and spend more money..
  6. Who needs an engine hoist when you've got scrap wood layin around? And it's out! Got some cleaning to do in the engine bay.. Haight, send me a PM and we'll start talking some specifics about the weber.
  7. +1 for a pic if you can! Please and thanks
  8. This slotting and shimming, is it to the outside(towards tires) or inside(towards center of xmember) of the engine mounts?
  9. Sweet, yeah I was pretty sure there were one too many lines when I was unhooking the old engine. Thanks for the scans!
  10. From what I've heard GL 4x4 kits work just fine. Even if you order an xt6 kit, you get a regular ea82 pressure plate. Unless you pay 170 for one from Subaru..
  11. Sweet, then I shall get rid of it. Czny, thanks! Good thing I didn't install it already. I've read in other people's swaps that they just replaced the rubber hoses with spfi hose (in the engine compartment, and at the pump) I was thinking of just doing that rather than run a whole new line. Think it'll work?
  12. A few folks have mentioned they use the group N mounts. Not too cheap though.. I'm still debating on whether or not to use the ej mounts, or upgrade to these: Group N "STi" Engine Mounts Stiffer than stock, bolt on item. Add to your Impreza to enhance suspension ride and overall handling.. Price is EACH (2 needed to install)) Fits Model: All Fits Model Year(s): 1990 - 2012 Also Available for Legacy and Forester models! Your Price: $68/each or $131/pair
  13. I got the old fuel pump off today, it looks like I'll have to get a bigger hose for the outlet, as the one on the SPFI pump is fairly large. I'm hoping that larger hose will fit snugly on the hardline at the other end. Can someone tell me what the pcv looking thing is on the old outlet hose though? And whether or not I need to keep it? Oh and I'm pretty sure I've got it right, but want to make sure, I've got a black wire and a red and green wire going to the fuel pump. Red and green is positive?
  14. Thanks numbchux! I'm definitely looking forward to winter with this thing. Also, thanks for the Duluth footage, it brings me back to my college days!
  15. I've been trying to find videos of what I can look forward to when I get the new heart in my 87 wagon, but haven't had much luck on youtube. Anyone got any videos of their swapped rigs in action?
  16. Thanks for the heads up, but luckily/unfortunately the CVs are shot. I've already popped out the roll pins and I'll be removing the axle nuts on both sides before this. I'm hoping I might kill two birds with one stone here and get those axles started in their removal process.
  17. Scooner, road trip?! Haha that would be very convenient, for me anyway. There's a place in town here that rents them for 33 a day, not too bad I suppose. Czny, thanks for the tip, I'll do that. I'm thinking I should jack up the tranny too when it comes time to pull the engine?
  18. I have a used one that I purchased from a fellow member on the board. I am swapping engines so I won't be needing it. Let me know if you end up needing one, we'll figure out a fair price.
  19. Czny, those look much nicer than I was thinking they would. They may be 60 a set, I'll be contacting them tomorrow. Spazomatic, yeah I definitely like the look of the isuzu ones a lot more, but the price tag is a bit steep for me. Thanks for the info and opinions guys!
  20. Had some fun disconnecting the ea82 yesterday. Everything is unhooked, now it's just waiting on an engine hoist. I labeled everything as I removed it, there are a few things that I am not sure of though. So there's this thing, on the driver's side of the intake. I'm guessing its part of the emission system? Which leads me to wondering what these three things are. The plug with the white connector goes to the item on the left, the wire with the boot on it connected to the sensor/solenoid thinger on the right, and the hose connected to the left doohickey(return line or vent?)
  21. My ej22 will be going in soon, and with some more horses it seems time to upgrade my wheels. I don't really want them to stick out too far, plus I imagine with a wider tire and such a light car, I'll have less stability in snowy/icy conditions. From what I've read the isuzu wheels have the best offset for our ea82s. Here's what CL has to offer me locally: http://bozeman.craigslist.org/pts/4386335323.html http://bozeman.craigslist.org/pts/4469216959.html Anyone have these on their car?

  23. Thanks for the info guys. Crazyeights, that definitely sheds some light on what I'm going to have to do here. Do you know if anyone has tried the same setup but with ea82 rotors and hubs?
