  1. I just had to say..I felt the urge to Play with Bucky on the way home ..( those who know me to be anal and baby my car this should be a shocker:) ).. My road is a semi whindy road posted 25mph...well no one was around so my and Bucky just had to get on it..Brought back memories of my old racing days..OK wasnt going that fast but 55-60 without braking just using the gears made the mile and a half romp very very fun...I forgot myself what a blast this things are...even with 15 year old suspension and no grip tires Bucky stuck to the road like a champ....I LOVE my Loyale wagon!
  2. I 100% trust you Andrew.. Dont mind anything I say this time of year..I am usually in a termendous funk this time of year. Actually looking forward to your word on the XT6...the more I see them and research them..the more I like them:grin:
  3. EA82 is your motor..if you look on your block you will see stamped EA82...If you hang out her enough you will learn we refer to our cars by EA71/EA81/EA82/EJ22..and many others...I know someone will get into the full classifications for you
  4. OK after much thought..As hard as it was to do..I had to pass on this car...was almost as hard to do as it would be if I ever had to get rid of Bucky. But there is someone interested in that car who can actually use it..they know who they are. I appreciate all the opinions very very much..So if things work out I am looking at the possibilty of an XT6..but not getting hopes up ( cause they always come crashing down around me)
  5. Yup Matt ..those tail lights are soooo cherry..just had to get them...need some other parts off if it for the GLF but didnt have the right tools..the bumper guards off the front and the trim pieces. That poor car is sooo raped
  6. any other rust on the car is no issue at all..nothing at all to worry about. I am waiting to hear back from my body/welder guy and what he says since he will be the one fixing it.
  7. .. I am just curious..do you feel that these to underside frame rust issues can be repaired...I really really would love to save this car and am getting opinions. Like I said I very very much so want to save this car....and no..its not Bucky
  8. Just got back from Harrys...Lots of EA82s and a couple EA81s..1 SVX and a couple XTs ..oooodles of Legacys. Buckys is finally getting his new hatch struts and got PERFECT pair of tail lights for the GLF...and a bunch of little things I am planning on making something out of...you guys will see and like soon. Suprised Matt and Ben...they didnt know we were coming out....met up with Dave and Melis..and hatchsub and mom...hatchsubs Sedan is unbelieveable!!! the pictures he has online dont do that car an ounce of justice. He picked up a sweet deal on his 5 spd swap. I want to go back!!
  9. Heading to Harrys U Pull it to meet up with some friends...its 7 am now..will beleaving in about an hour so if you need something post quick...or if you have my cell number give me a call if you need something...this was a spur of the moment thing came up late last night.
  10. I am soo happy to see you found something so fast after that dreadful thing that happened to your Loyale.. You seem very excited and happy!! :headbang:  She is going to rock! I absolutely love EA82 wagons...life is good when one decides to become your friend/partner in crime/and family member... I know Bucky has been my bestest friend for over 3 years now...I just home he takes well to his new sibling soon.
  11. Just woke up so I guess we missed the meet up with Moosens to follow him down...actually Tommy isnt even awake yet so I guess this is a late..not going to make it..till we get the bike loaded and all the gear together..we wouldnt be out the door till 10 anyway.
  12. If I can bring my bike we may come...Tommys bike is down for the count ( or for the winter with bad front forks) But mine needs about 2 hours worth of work to have it trail ready
  13. LMAO..that pic is from my old apt..one of my gatherings...the silver wagon is moosens..and the orange one is WagonsOnlys split gate that came from down south.
  14. I have to get Buckys title I think its in his glove box...but I know he has a few marks..we believe he may have been wrecked at one time..dont know if I want to know though..LOL I think the only car I have liked even close to as much as Bucky was my 86 VW Golf..tree fell on it..still ran and drove
  15. I love my wagon too...these things are the greatest things ever created....I brought home from work 6 full sized wooden skids and still didnt cramp my speaker box. EA82 wagons rule!! Its a wagon thing ya know?
  16. Sounds like you have a clogged breather tube like NorthWet says..I had the same thing on my 88 GL..new PVC etc..was so bad I would take a turn and the car would just shut off from the oil dumping into the SPFI. I put new breather tubes on like a friend told me ( this was even after I took the car to a dealer and they couldnt figure it out..smart dealer huh?) and the problem was fixed
  17. Well ..you still have to wiggle the key abit to get the clock and the wipers to work BUT.....he has music again!!!!!I have only been driving him for close to a year without a stereo...Whodathunk a 2 and a half year old $200 stereo would putz out...well that was the problem all along..we pulled it and tested it at work and found the stereo to be bad..so this morning I installed his new tunes..nothing special..and nothing close to being as good as his old JVC ..he now has a Sony Xplod...200Ws CD etc etc..reason I got it was cause I could plug my MP3 player into it.Honestly..not a bad stereo for $79.00 at Walmart...(my JVC I paid over $200 at Circuit City). Anyway I am a happy camper again  and Bucky is Rockin
  18. I would do a complete frame up restoration of Bucky..No modifications..just keep him original..and then show him show him show him..The STI people are already fasinated with him and his spare tire under the hood...Just want to have something that the future Subaru junkies can see and us old timers can remember. But I have always been into restoring with modification..unless the numbers dont match then its all up in the air:grin: (example..when I was 17 I had a 71 mach 1 Mustang ..428 CJ with blower..4:11 rear..Muncie Crusher 4 spd..etc etc..salvage titles car)
  19. My 92 Loyale requires an adapter plate for the new stereos...I have been driving for nearly a year with what I thought was an electrical gremlin with my syereo until I finally pulled it and we hooked it up to someone elses car and it turns out to be a bad stereo ( already aftermarket 200 watt JVC) Its such an easy job replacing the stereos in these cars..one of the easiest I have done
  20. Rob is the man..he has helped me a ton and is a truely great guy..goes above and beyond to help another Subaholic out
  21. I can testify to this wonderful group..I still havent come anywhere close to paying back for all the help EVERYONE has given me..but someday I hope to do so
  22. I saw that one Jon..and I know exactly where it is ( thats my home turf ya know)..but where am I supposed to come up with $350?? Plus I dont have that "feeling" about the car like I did when I saw Bucky and the coupe. I talked to Rory today and he assures me a 4WD swap is easy and he can probably do it complete in a weekend with the proper tools..I just can't bring myself to it..I like my 35-40 mpg..plus I can't even afford $100 right now to put a new stereo in Buck ( Yeah I finally found out it was the stereo and not an electrical gremlin) I will just try to get a new set of snow treads for the front again ..3 years on the old ones so its about time...OH!! and the count down is on...less then 2000 miles till he turns over the 200K mark
  23. I think I am going to pass on all of this...to much ..and its my only car so any glitches etc and I am screwed. Maybe someday I will have enough money to just buy a 4WD one. As for being very attached to my car...just ask Matt,Dave,Melis,Paul..etc..obsessed not just attached:grin:
