  1. My 92 Loyale did the same thing ..then turned to a steady on light...ran the codes..it was the very common 34 (EGR sylinoid) ..fixed for 2 years with the black electrical tape method..then I finally got around to changing the sylinoid....all better now. Drove this car for 2 years with the light on.But its best to just run the codes first...very very simple to do. Good Luck
  2. Oh My Oh My!!!! My friend Rory let me drive his 2006 Legacy GT Turbo wagon today....all I can say is :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: and when the turbo kicked in  ....I never noticed how slow and power lacking Bucky was until now...But if it means anything...He got new spark plugs today and has more get-up-an-go. (Bucky goes through plugs about once a year..dont know why though) Ok now I want a Turbo Wagon!
  3. We have been recruited by Andrew to bring a car down for him and looks like it is still a go!
  4. 92 Loyale 5spd FWD..around 32 city...40+ highway. It has never been below 30 mpg since I owned the car
  5. I hate to admit it....but my Honda prelude had 300+K on it and my 83 Accord had over 500K ...but I didnt like them as much as my Subarus!!
  6. Jack..my 82 GLF coupe is up to around 38,000 on her now..and she is running great...sometimes you just have to run them! My 92 Loyale is still a baby too with 193,000
  7. I think the worth is deturmined by the buyer...Its like any "collectable"...it may be "worth" so much..but to find someone willing to pay that for it is another thing. How bad does the buyer want it.Seems the Brats are getting more popular again and that will cause the selling prices to go up.
  8. I vote for the GLs and Loyales... I have had mine ($600) for almost 3 years with very very minor problems and is very cheap and easy to fix. Yes..rust is an issue with them but as long as you keep up on it it really isnt a problem
  9. Hey!!!! I happen to like white Subarus !!!
  10. I just picked up my Bucky from Rory's and he went above and beyond cleaning my car..I dont think it has ever looked so good..But I have never seen one of his vehicles EVER dirty..even when he plays with them they arent put away dirty! BTW..Rory gave Bucky pretty much a clean bill of health..just a couple minor things...like tires...are needed. Thanks Rory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I have a pic.. I love this car of moosens..want to barrow it for a day sometime Let me know if pics shows..trying photobucket
  12. Jack..its OK..Rory is my friend...he is in possession of my Loyale right now so I have to be nice to him;). And I lucked into my coupe big time!!! Thanks to moosens...we found it on Ebay..and $300 ..but its a North East car and does have minor rust. But there are alot more people out here that have come across much better deals on much better cars. All good things come to those who wait. I am sorry I may have offended you jack:o I am sorry!
  13. Cynthia...I have been holding off saying anything on this post..but girl...come on!!!! Get over the "eww sticky oil all over my acrylic nails"!!!! I dont think you realize there are quite a few of us females on this board who wrench our own cars.... Me being one of them...and I actually have witnesses to me doing it WITH my acrylic nails.I totally understand your ordeal. I love my Loyale as much as you love yours.I am also very very picky about my car (ask anyone who has heard me complain LOL). But please stop playing the "its ok cause I am a dumb female" act. You just have never been educated on this stuff.. Ask the questions...we have heard it all and have never judged anyone for being uneducated thats what this board is here for. I am happy to see you are trying and learning. As for garages doing the work...you had better be careful. They will try to rob you blind!!! Just ask some local friends over for a cookout and tranny swap party...Its so easy ..honestly!! We pulled my engine...resealed it...put in a new clutch..rebuilt the oil pump....and put new front breaks on my Loyale in less then a day. I am serious its very easy.. Good Luck!!
  14. neener neener neener....I have a super clean 82 GLF coupe ..well she will be back with me soon hopefully! But she is strickly a restore project..no modifications..can't ruin a super low mileage car. I hope Bucky behaved for you this weekend
  15. I believe moosens 78 4WD wagon has a factory Subaru winch on it...dont hold my word to it though.
  16. Ummm...Rory is going to play with his torch and welder on Buckys rear.
  17. HEY!!!! Didnt I just leave your house?????? Are you not in possession of my very much beloved Loyale Bucky???? HUMMMM???? LMAO. Beautiful new Subaru BTW! I almost licked the steering wheel...I thought Linda was going to fall out laughing! Welcome back to the world of Subarus!
  18. Tomorrow afternoon I will be Subaruless!!!! But only for the weekend...I am actually handing over the keys to my beloved Loyale Bucky to someone else. But its OK..he is going to a caring long time club member (who hasnt been on the board for a long time though). And only for repairs!!! Some members know Rory and have spoken very highly of him. And I have become friends with him through another friend (perfect case of small world syndrome). He has been bugging me for weeks now to hand over my Bucky and let him go over him so I broke down and said he could have Buck for the weekend. I have NEVER let this wagon out of my sight since I have owned it...which is going on 3 years now. Moosens knows Rory and believes in his ability. OH! BTW Moosens.....Rory says Hi!!!!!Talk Soon!! And he may be back into Subarus...tomorrow should be getting a 2006 Legacy GT wagon. Keep your fingers crossed that Rory doesnt find anything major wrong with my Loyale. I am going to be flipping out for the weekend.
  19. Hummmm..this might be a possibility...have to see how things are going with the house...closing is in 2 weeks but we have a bunch of work to do to it. A near mint 360 Sedan?????Stop talking dirty to me Andrew!!!!
  20. try this again...sorry for the red x ..I was getting a pic on my puter..sorry for size..still playing with photobucket
  21. I have been following this thread for abit....and really wanted to go this year (since Carlisle IS my home town and I know everything there is about it) but with the buying of the house...planning a stinkin wedding...and a car thats on its last leg...its just not going to happen. Camping is cool there...the night life is a blast!! ALL the motels are over priced but alittle better if you cross the river and head to Harrisburg for one.Of course...one of my favorite things to do is go tent camping..nothing like it...this girl isnt a pansy. The best little pizza and sub shop is close by...called George's..its in-town...head to the center of town to the main light at the courthouse and turn right ...block and a half down on the right.Or when you come out of the fairgrounds turn right and head up rt 34 into Perry County (10 minutes from there) and stop at Pandomonium Bar and Grill ( my old hang out..miss that place) Dark, and loud but food is good and they have something like 6 pool tables...or right past the Pando is Shermans Creek Inn...weekends they have a Buffet in the dining room that is good or if you are in the bar section (which is bright) the food there is awesome! OK enough memories for me.......I miss PA
  22. :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
  23. Here is the one from my GLF..or moosens and my GLF LOL:grin:
  24. I am in CT and my Loyale with 193,000 miles check engine light isnt on ..for the first time in 2 and a half years...Mine was the EGR sylinoid...tried replacing it with used ones with no luck...just broke down and got one from the dealer....all better now. EGR sylinoid is one of the most common check engine light things (code 34). Part new is over $100 and takes a whole 5 minutes to replace...or just get a roll of black electrical tape and do what alot of us do
