  1. I just left my boyfriends house ...havent drove my beloved Bucky since Friday night ..went and started him up and the auto seat belts wouldnt engage. Both sides are stuck in the door open position ...no light on ,on the dash display. I open the door and the door ajar light comes on..I hit the door lock and that light wont go out(?). I checked under the dash for a fuse and found non for the seat belts. Now we were stuck in something like 10 days of straight rain and maybe something inside the doors got wet and shorted something out?? Is there a fuse somewhere else for the seat belts??Could it just be a small electrical gremlin somewhere?? Thanks in advance for any help....BTW.. I still LOVE my Loyale...230+ miles to about 6 gallons of gas!
  2. Geesh Paul..I am still feeling bad about this...Is she still smoking??? Oh I picked up that EA82 today. If you need anything let me know and I will see what I can do.. Talk soon
  3. We just resealed my entire engine in my Loyale..and resealed the oil pump...I still have a minor tick at first but it does go away....Have you tried replacing the HLAs?? Thats usually what is causeing the tick and if the other remedies dont work thats about all thats left. I wouldnt junk the car for a tick personally...I ran mine for 2 years with the ticking (about 35,000 miles). Just a thought
  4. About 3 months after I got my Loyale I snapped an axle...I finally tossed it a couple months ago..but the piece that holds the bearings in shattered in 3 places..dropped a couple bearings out and breaking off a big chunk of the outer knuckle. Still drove it 30 miles to my friends house..fighting to keep it on the road but it made it! So yours doesnt look tooooo bad:brow: . Good Luck with the Job! Fingers crossed you get it!
  5. Nice to hear some kind words on the FWD ones...everyone just seems so hung up on the 4WD and they seem to forget that the FWD ones are a blast to drive..not carrying around the extra weight..and I believe but could be wrong..that the gearing is a bit different.I know mine is even fun to drive in the snow (nice meaty snow tires help). Someday I will have a 4WD one but until then you still couldnt offer me enough money to get rid of my Bucky. 2 years of enjoyment from the most reliable car I have EVER owned. Here's to, at least. another 100,000 miles ( goal is to get 300,000 out of it) Thanks Phil for the awesome clutch!!!!!
  6. Havent tried 4th yet...maybe tomorrow Vrooom Vroom ...CHIIIRRRPP,vroom vroom..CHIIRRPP,vroom vroom..chirp!
  7. That a FWD Loyale 5 spd is a blast to drive when it has a new clutch and is running great. I chirped the tires getting on the highway in 1st,2nd,and 3rd. Plus it felt like it was taking off like a rocket (OK OK for EA82 standards). Whoever it was who said "It is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow" was right on the money!!! I LOVE my Loyale!
  8. I thought I was the queen of stupid questions:grin: .....Welcome to the board
  9. 88 GL wagon ... Silver 90 Justy..Dark Grey 82 GLF..red 92 Loyale...white
  10. I drove my Loyale for 2 years running a code 34..finally fixed it this Sat..by replacing the EGR sylinoid. I tried used ones and they didnt work so I broke down and got a new one...WOW what a difference. The EGR valve almost never goes bad BTW...only the sylinoid . I temporarily fixed my check engine light with a trusty piece of electrical tape:lol: ..worked for 2 years
  11. I am 3 minutes from the NY boarder...and I lived in Albany for 3 years....so does that count??? I still have a NY drivers licence! Hey...I romance my Subaru!!..Everyone knows how much I adore my Loyale. But thats basically cause I can't afford to get anything newer or better...and its just been toooooo reliable. I saw my first "lifted" Subaru last Sat...Jessie's Legacy...It was too cool too. I wish to someday have a 4WD Sube so I can play offroad too like the rest of you...but I am not ready to give up my gas mileage yet.Getting an extra 4-5 miles per gallon now BTW!!
  12. I just did mine Sat with the motor out of the car. You didnt remove the flywheel from the motor yet have you? Just turn the crank pulley with a 22MM socket to line up the marks.
  13. I know this smoke and its not the normal condensation smoke..unless there is ALOT of it somewhere. Its like a smoke screen sometimes. If I am correct..its not just on the morning start-up like normal condensation. My Loyale on cool mornings has alot of condensation smoke. This might show up onmorning start...or afternoon after the car has been run or sitting for a hour or so...sometimes not.wierd thing it is.
  14. Since I grew up in Carlisle I have been to many many of these shows. Fall Carlisle is going to be 99.9% old american muscle cars....maybe some exotics but nothing really cool Suby orientate...unless you lucky. I used to have a 71 Mach 1 Mustang and a few other muscle cars ...and honestly ...I would much rather have my Loyale. But thats just me...I mean really..if I had alot of expendable money maybe I would get another miscle car but they are just too expensive to keep up with...Since I am poor I guess thats outta the question. Its more fun to show off an old Sube causepeople dont expect to see them. They are actually more rare than almost any muscle car.
  15. We just pulled my EA81 Sat to do a clutch swap...made it pretty easy to do..plus while it was out it was easier to do some other stuff (reseal and stuff). I would just yank it..save yourself some headache. I now know I could do it myself if I had too thanks to Moosens,subeman90,and Subafreak.....and I am a girl!!
  16. Can we all say...Thong!!! LOL..Hey even I have to admit...it was a decent shot ..and since I have no self esteem I guess thats good. Melis..Shelby will live again...she will donate many needed parts to your new girl. I know you can get her done. And your new XT6 is a pretty one for sure. OMG!! I Love my Loyale even more now!!! Bucky has never run so good...or smooth. I had to keep checking today going to work to make sure it was the right Loyale. He shifts beautiful..no more shutter or squealing, I turned the defrost on and no obnoxious squealing, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!! He purrs now,And he didnt mark his territory. I am soooo thankful to you guys!!
  17. Yes..we had a long hard day...didnt think we could get it done before it got to dark but we did it...Big props to those who helped..BIG PROPS!! As for the 4WD conversion...naaaaaa..I dont want to loose my 40 mpg!!! might even be better now with my brand new EGR sylinoid. And my TOD is nearly gone...might take a couple days to get the stuff cleared out.
  18. My Loyale is now fixed . Great work done by all...and a huge Thank you to all that helped. I posted a link to pics over in Meet and Greet along with a short report..will add more later. OH.. NO MORE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON!!! Yeah!!
  19. Pictures available at: http://photos.yahoo.com/csmeriglio@sbcglobal.net Look for the SeptCTCookout
  20. We got Bucky all back together and running like a champ!! I can't even express my gratitude. Was a long day..Myself and Tom have been up working on the car since 8 am and we finally got it buttoned up around 8:00 tonight. All basically went very well...nothing really got broken,no blood was spilled.Had some wrong part issues (the parts store gave me a Legacy throw-out bearing instead of a Loyale one). Then there was our new found friend..Justy...a young pigeon who desided he would hang out with us all day...literally!!! Followed us around...tried to get in the house..sitting on the car and under the car while we worked. Too tired to write much now...will do more later and post the pictures tomorrow. Once again a HUGE THANK YOU!!!!! to Paulyburger,Matt (subieman90) and Jessie ...sorry I could have been more help but I tried. Dave and Melis showed up shortly after we finished up..(with my car) in her new XT6!!! We fed them and she supplied Candles and had to head out cause Dave has a race tomorrow..plus they were tired from their journey to get the XT6 and all the hard work they put into that today. You all are the greatest friends someone can have...and I owe you ALL big time
  21. I may be interested in this adventure too...dont know what I might need for my Loyale but you never know
  22. LOL Matt..sorry can't help it...keep thinking I am forgetting something....IMPORTANT!! I just got back from the store...we have Burgers, dogs, making Sausage and peppers and onions, plenty of rolls, cheese, some potatoe salad,a veggie tray with dip ( just for you and for my guinea pig..we will eat whatever is left over...or if someone wants to spoil him), A bag of chips,2 2 liters of Coke and a 2 liter of Sprite,a 12 pack of spring water and plenty of toilet paper. Tommy is grabbing a case of Sam Adams and a variety of Smirnoff Twisted (both of us love those) and a Large bottle of Captns ...not sure if he is getting regular or Tattoo ( my addiction) and probably some Vodka. So if I am missing something on the food menu ...someone please grab it...I have the paper plates, silverware, plastic cups and napkins. I hope I have all the parts I need...would suck to forget something since about everything had to be ordered.
  23. LOL Matt....took a half day of work soI can get the gas bottle filled and finish the food shopping and clean the house and maybe even get some work done on Bucky....I am soooooooooo Stressed!! LOL
  24. 2 More days! ..Going to get up early Sat and start working on Bucky...draining the oil, getting some stuff out of the way, removing the stuff I actually know how to.If Bucky has to be up in the air for any length of time ...does anyone have a set of jack stands??? I have a decent floor jack but no stands. BTW..Melis and Dave..... Have a safe trip tomorrow to vermont and good luck with the new XT6...can't wait to see her..also have a safe trip here from there. Melis my 2 friends should be stopping by around noonish...they want candles!
