  1. He called me while I was on my way home from work ....he is without a puter for alittle while so dont worry anyone who is trying to get hold of him. If its important and you dont have his phone number, PM me and I will get the message to him. Mods I wasnt sure where to put this so feel free to move.
  2. The head gasket issue was supposed to be fixed. I have had my 08 Impreza for a year and a half now and have 36K on it without any issues. BTW ..just wait till it gets cold ..you are going to LOVE your TPMS ( my pressure light was on half the winter cause they like to freeze up) The 2.5 head gasket issue had nothing to do with what car it was in...it was the motor ...all lines that ran it had the problem
  3. If you want to make a run to old Bridge NJ ( 30 miles south of the GWB ) I know someone who can do it easily.
  4. Right now it doesnt even look like I am going to be able to go at all..money wise..got 3 vehicles down ( 2 of mine and the truck) plus trying to find someone for the dogs Not looking like I will be making it
  5. Right now I have 2 out of 3 cars down...and I dont want to bring the Impreza.
  6. Yota has a broken leaf spring and front stabalizer end link..and having troubles cause its so rusty under there..Good Job Toyota for forgetting to put the preventative on the frames ( there is a recall but my husband refuses to give his truck up ) Its 100X worse then my 95 Lego..and is getting close to the shape my XT6 was in...a 2001 too..I used to say Toyota were decent ..but this is rediculous.
  7. So I finally found some bigger tires and rims for this project ( way to revive an old thread huh?) We found a forester at the J/y and it still had the rims..but not any ordinary rims ..01-03 ( or 4 ) 16 inch H6 Outback rims wrapped in new directional Potenzas. One tire is bad that we didnt see ..slice from the accident the forester was in ..but they are new enough that I should be able to replace just that one...going to take it to my tire guy, though, first to make sure. Got them for a song too. These are monsterous but we checked on njdrsubarus Lego which has the same lift and they will work fine.Anyway ...here is a pic *note* the tire is just leaning up against the other tire..it is not mounted. BTW found New Gens have a crappy radiator design...geesh ...plastic Poor lego is now down with a cracked one for a day or 2.
  8. I wont be able to get to the coupe at all tomorrow...cause my Legacy is down with a cracked intake on the radiator..I thought was a blown hose ..but it cant be driven..so Tomorrow I will be visiting moosens to grab a new radiator for the Lego and getting that going cause my husband needs the car ( he works construction and I REALLY dont want him using my Impreza). Owning 4 cars and only one is working sucks
  9. I havent been home this weekend.Went bike riding on the beach with me little fairy:grin: 13.4 miles to be exact. I will be getting home later today but have to fix the upper rad hose on my Legacy that my husband is using while his Toyota is broke down, so that has taken priority. And yea ..Paul has a really busy life too..with the kids and he works graveyard too (we work for the same company). I will get it .. I had Qman remove the for sale add. I know I am close ..will look at it more on Monday
  10. sometimes if you are patient you can find the glass JDM lenses on ebay or even Nasioc even in the JYs. It also helps to get away from the conventional stock bulbs and go with some hyperwhites or HIDs. You can also add the projection style fog lights to help. I do 90% of my driving at night ( graveyard hours ugh) and on narrow deer infested roads..I am picky about my lights too. The buffing of the lenses works fantastic ..but you will have to redo it every couple years. I will be doing my Legacys very very soon.
  11. Nope ..but remember..the battery is not installed ...its been on the tender all week ..dont want to keep charging and discharging it
  12. OK ..first I hooked everything back up ( minus battery) tossed the tester on set at 2K ..got a reading of .002. pulled the red fuseable link..tested again..still got .002. disconnected the large wire on the alt and still got .002 ?????
  13. Actually ..I have the battery out of the car right now..been out for the week..doing all my tests by resistance. I would love to get my hands of Guido to do some of his rust work
  14. Congrats on the second Subaru. My Husband is finally starting to like mine ( after dealing with me for 3 years LOL) cause he has been using my 95 Legacy wagon while his Toyota truck is broke down. And he isnt rushing to fix his truck. ( I knew I could convert him!) As for the headlights...I think my Legacy is alot like your OBW ..My 08 Impreza I dont have issues with seeing at night but the Lego I do..I added driving lights and it seems to help a good bit ( depends if they are legal in your state)
  15. Ben .. ( OMG I am so laughing at you and Neos pics..way to take a thread WAYYY off topic I needed a good laugh..actually I am in tears) I had thought about that..but with the digis being soo sensitive to electrical issues ..I would really like to have it fixed. Plus I like to take the car to work once in awhile and dont want to be playing with it in a dark parking lot
  16. ??? LOL.. I hope the board knows the njdrsubaru and me are just best friends..nothing more...we both like the same thing ( if you know what I mean.) hehehehehe. I point them out to him...bwahahahahaha
  17. Its ok ..I am not going to be home this weekend anyway..going to hang with njdrsubaru and go bike riding on the beach...a good step away before I beat it with a sledgehammer weekend
  18. I have already replaced the Alt ...3 times .. so far ... what are the chances of all three being bad in the same way?
  19. I pulled the ign switch again...but this time from the cylinder end...I found that the new cylinder doesnt allow the switch to go the whole way into the off position. Thought this was the problem ..but when retested..it still was reading .000 now. I think I am done for the day with it..too tired and frustrated right now
  20. it had a new pigtail spliced on right after I got the car...but I swapped the wires around anyway..no change..its hopeless...going to send it to the scrap yard
  21. Its the white connector...plugged into the alt ..bad reading ....unplugged it get a good reading...I have checked the wires back to the harness and seperated them..no change..bad reading.
  22. Someone called me a quitter the other day..and I think they are right..I just unplugged everything..and as I did s I tested...and cant find anything...all the grounds are where they should be...everything is plugged like it should.. And ... I want to Quit.. and send it to the crusher. There isnt anything wrong. only time I get a change is when I unplug the alt and I have swapped alts..and quadrupedal checked the wires
  23. I think it grounds to the block ..I found a page with all the ground straps. Between edrach and my FSM ..I am starting to understand this wire harness somewhat.. I think if I can actually find this problem I will know that dang harness like the back of my hand
  24. And so starts a new day. I started unplugging more things and testing ..so far with no results.. But I founf this...its behind the coil..one end is attached to the coil ..the other was just hanging: Any ideas? would this be the Full Transistor Igniter?? and if so my FSM says the the other end should also be attached to the coil
  25. I found this and thought it might be useful: From the subaru book: Connector layout, looking from the terminal side (not the wire side) x x 3 x x 6 where x are the other terminals not related to this tests. Procedure: 1. Take out the green diagnostics connector from the side of the driver's seat heater unit (under the dash board) 2. Ignition switch to off 3. Connect one of the two (either one) black pigtails to diagnosis connector position 6. 4. Turn ignition on 5. Abs light is in the diagnostic mode and blinks to identify trouble code. 6. After the start code 11 is shown, the trouble codes will be shown in order of the last information first. The codes will repeat for a max of 5 minutes. If no problem is found, only code 11 will be shown. After ready trouble code, disconnect black pigtail from position nr. 6 and repeat 3 times within 12 seconds, connecting and disconnecting. Trouble code list: Code Indicates None: Problem in light drive circuit. Light has to come on for 1.5 secs after ignition is on. Light On: Same as above 11: Start Code 21 FR wheel sensor open circuit or input voltage too high 23 FL 25 RR 27 RL 22 FR wheel sensor when no open circuit or speed signal input 24 FL 26 RR 28 RL 29 Faulty tone wheel 31 FR Faulty solenoid valve circuit in hydraulic unit 33 FL 39 Rear wheels 41 Faulty ABS control module 42 Source voltage is low 51 Faulty valve relay 52 Faulty Hydraulic Motor and or motor relay 54 Faulty Stop Light circuit 56 Wrong control module used or faulty G Sensor Codes are formed by long ABS light on times (1.2 secs) for the tens and short on times (0.3 sec) for the units. There is a one second pause between codes.
