whooohooo!!!!! Its a good feeling huh?? Isnt it funny how they will fail it on a stupid gas cap??? I usually try to put a new one on before emmissions ..just cause. Congrats!!!! Soon we will be planning another Barrens Meet so you will have to bring it now -
I plan on doing what GD said thats for sure....and unfortunately ..it originally had the carter/weber and not the hitcrappy. OK no sledgehammer...how about 5 gallons of gasoline and a match?? Just fed up...try and fix one thing and find 5 more things bad...well ..its looking more like the coupe will be a no show for carlisle. Somethign as simple as a motor swap and its been a nightmare.

Thanks guys....I have had small drains before but nothing that will take out a new battery overnight. Let me explain alittle more here. I didnt have this problem with the old motor. ( even after pulling it ..resealing it and putting back in). It has only been since the new motor was installed. I originally thought it was a bad battery since someone moved the battery from the workbench to the cement floor and it stayed for a few weeks.( might be a wives tail but that has trashed a couple for me) The XT6 alt has been installed exactly as it was on the privious motor...literally ..everything is the exact same except the longblock. Could something be pinched and grounding to the body? We are going to look into it on Sat and see what we can find...looking for ideas on where to start. Thanks a ton...but are you sure a sledgehammer wont fix it??

I have my white lego sitting up on jackstands right now with the hub removed...trashed a wheel bearing too.. musta been something in the mud....note to self ...next time at JY pull a few extras of everything. And subaru360...LOL..yea we did freak...but it didnt dawn on us that the water was ALOT shallower ..we were just having flashbacks of the 8 degree day spent trying to get the Fonz out. -
I am so confused now...frustrated too. Just yesterday I bought a brand new battery for my coupe...cause the other one wouldnt hold a charge...hooked it all u..everything appeared fine yesterday. Go out today to start the car and work on it some more and the new battery is dead ..stone cold dead. Put the jump pack on and start the car up let it run for awhile and let it charge the battery...which it did...turn it off and then put my battery tender on it. Go out a few hours later and the battery tender cant even keep up with the draw ( yes I kept the battery hooked up for an experiment...it is disconnected now) What could possibly be causing that big of a draw? Thought it was my ign switch cause its alittle wierd..turn the key off and the car shuts off a second later swapped in another switch..still does the same. Starting to think sledge hammer will fix it??

Jerry..would you just want the carb or the whole intake? ( I am hoping just carb..dont feel like taking the intake off..hehehehe) and can you PM me your address again?? Neo and me will pull the carb this weekend..I need it there to run the car alittle after retorquing the heads and adjusting the valves ( have a little bit of noise on one side). But I am still happy to have the dash...I have an analog in waiting if needed but for once...something actually went right with the car. -

I wanted to digi to keep my car as original as possible. Plus I want everything to work without having to add a bunch of extra gauges. ( I want the doors open etc etc to work also). I also mentioned I updated the electrical charging system to keep it steadier and more reliable..thats what causes the digis to blow out the VR. Also , dont forget ..this car does not get driven ..maybe will be getting 1000 miles a year. Original digi will be cooler for the shows even if it is more boring then the xt digis . The only mods I am doing are just the rear disk swap and the weber...the disk brakes because its so easy and helps a ton..and the weber...well..cause the carter weber was junk but my weber has proved to be worse. I wish I wouldnt have tossed the carter weber and intake:-\ cause right now I cant afford to buy another weber. And the thought of carrying around a bottle of starter fluid and the 10 minute wait even on warm days to go anywhere..just isnt too apealing for me -

I am so giggly right now...that dang digi dash nightmare has been the worst part of the car..nice to know whats going on now... things keep going this well...and I might start likeing my coupe again ( secretly I LOVE my coupe) -
:banana: I put a new battery in my coupe and one of the 2 maybe digis that turbone sent me..one was a high mileage one..one was a low..put the high in and I have a working dash!!! ...ok the clock isnt working but the important stuff is. I can swap in anotgher clock ..or I will install the low mileage dash upon final install. I am soooooooooooooooooo Happy right now!. Just need to figure out this stupid weber so I can start the car without starter fluid. Putting on the new exhaust I got from edrach this weekend..and doing the rear disk swap..and and and... YAY!! big hurdle solved ( hopefully) I updated the alt to an XT6 one to help keep the voltage more regular.. hehehehehehehehehehehe my biggest problem and worry was that dash..and for the past 15 minutes we are good..:banana::banana: doesnt even begin to cover my excitement
