  1. Yea... that price does seem alittle high ... I picked my 95 Lego LS wagon up for $250 with a bad tranny. and overall the car was in really good shape with 182K miles
  2. We spent all day at the U pull It ..got back home around 6:30 pm ( day started at 5:30 am) ate something...buttoned up the tranny got the lift on the front of the car and will be starting her up in a few....going to finish the rear lift in the morning...and I will get pics..but right now we are just so exhausted. Its 11 pm and we wont be done for about another half hour to an hour. BTW Made out like bandits at the JY
  3. I used DAS when I had my 83 coupe shipped from Seattle to Connecticut. I would use them again without any worries. I highly recommend them. And the price was great ( I chose top load which cost alittle more )
  4. Ummmm.. I think Not! well If I do I have the key to yours:brow: We will just have to make sure Tom goes first
  5. I think this is it ..to the rangers station http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=&daddr=39.740722,-74.726086&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=15&sll=39.745144,-74.716988&sspn=0.02455,0.038495&ie=UTF8&z=15 I just follow Neo
  6. How can we forget my obnoxious paint job on the now deceased ( sometimes I almost miss the darn thing) Rocky the 88 XT6 ..aka ..the pissed off hornet:
  7. Up the 28th is the date...the guys from AWD sound like they are in...and I am sure that Neo and myself will be traveling together so we can stop at the diner
  8. Seems that way Nipper.. I suggested it and no one argued ..:-\ But its looking very very good that my Lego will be ready for her maiden voyage :banana:
  9. My idea was to turn the jack backwards ..cause the tranny wants to tip heavy side down if its the other way ..and pulling down on the tail shaft isnt the smartest thing to do. and yes..for now its getting the Outback struts..later we are going to make our own blocks and lift kit for them. And there isnt a picture of the cheering high fives and hugs when the old tranny came out
  10. More pics of our stupidity...OK well at least pics of my bestest friend... ( we all know I hate the camera) and here you can see the joy as the old tranny comes out
  11. Just made the brackets and mounted her bling bling offroad lights...and wanted to share in her sexiness.....I really LOVE everything about this Legacy camera phone pic
  12. yay!! welcome to to wonderful world of Digi dashes...Hope yours work Not a bad score at all...
  13. Nice!! I love my 2.5i ...I dont know about the 07 ..but my 08 has more then enough get up and go ..no need for the WRX. Nice score and good choice!
  14. No :(.. I wish it was though... I miss my best friend...and I wanna go to Harrys!!!
  15. Thanks! She should be back on all 4 wheel next weekend..with lift. Thanks to Neo I am getting my love for mechanics back and am enjoying it again. On top of that I am learning ton of stuff and am getting some confidence back.
  16. I was lucky that the old tranny had a magnetic plug...dont know if that was a stock thing or not. But it didnt catch those large pieces. We are going to remove the diff next weekend and see what the actual failure was.
  17. US!!! Geesh.. njdrsubaru and me are such a pair of goof offs ..yet yesterday we decided to tackle my 95 Legacys new tranny swap. Our original plan was to get the old tranny removed yesterday...then put the new one in next weekend...well things didnt quite go as planned. But by 12:30 we had the old tranny out and that was after starting alittle late cause we had the need for coxinha and cheese bread ( brazilian food). After a round of loud cheers ( I said we are good offs and this was our first attempt at this job)we figured..lets go ahead and put the new one in. Well that didnt quite go as easy as the old one came out..but once it was in things started to go together quick. Anyway it isnt quite done..we will finish it next week..hang the exhaust ..torque converter bolts and put the starter on which we will do after running to Harrys U Pull It for a suspension part I need for my lift. So it looks like my Legacy will be road worthy a couple weeks ahead of schedule. Then I can go back to working on my 83 coupe. I have some pics ( cause what would a thread be without pics). 2 are what we found in the front diff ..one is really kinda scarey. This is the good with chunks coming off the drain plug: And here are chunks of something...Definately that diff would not have lasted very long: I spent the money and got a good low profile high jack...3 1/2 ton...what a good investment!! I have a small floor jack but using blocks and stuff was always a pain. More pics of our goofiness can be found HERE http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f335/Bucky92/Retards%20doin%20Tranny/ I am sure Neo will add more to this once he gets online ( or wakes up hehehehe we were both so exhausted yesterday)
  18. It looks like there is a VERY good chance that my Ceeci will be ready for the 28th...if thats the date we are agreeing on.We got the old tranny out today and the new one in..just have a couple small things to do next weekend after we come back from a Harrys run to get the one Outback strut I need. Then the following weekend I will register her so it seems she will be ready
  19. For me...having a known already damaged tranny..the cocktail is fine ..just to quiet it down and go into 3rd until a new tranny is located. I have stated earlier...that it is not a quick fix..it just masks a problem. And as others stated ..can cause more damage. I would never think of adding it to my coupes tranny if it was actually any good. No need to...regular gear oil is fine. But Like I mentioned I have a bad bad 3rd gear syncro and with this being a show car..nothing says show like grinding into 3rd in public . There are definately other products out there better suited for maintaining a good tranny. I will say it again...I am only using the cocktail until a known good FWD 5 spd tranny is located. Like GD stated..it will give results for a period of time at the same time it will finish the bad tranny off.. I also DO NOT drive this car daily ...well it hasnt been driven since maybe June of last year but even if it was in driveable condition...this car does not get driven but once every week or 2.
  20. I have heard of bad things it has done to the new trannies.. and I have also heard good things with it to the older trannies...what is always failed to be remembered is it is used primarily in ones that already have a problem...it is not a fix, it may prolong the life of it or mask the problem for awhile. When I mentioned I was going to use the cocktail in my coupe cause I have a crunchy 3rd gear that likes to pop out..I got swamped with the links to the evils of the cocktail. But in all cases someone was looking for a cheap quick fix. I will run it until I can find a good FWD 5 spd for my EA81 coupe.. I know someone who uses it in thier RX and has for about a year now without any problems. If there isnt anything wrong with yours then dont use it. But if there is dont expect it to be a repair.
  21. I am waiting for an EA81 hardtop/coupe one ...hint hint;)
  22. This is as good as I got.... cleaned off my Impreza but was lazy and left Ceeci ( my Lego project ) covered. Still cant wait to get her new tranny in and start her lift!!!!
  23. The Pine Barrens are in New Jersey...east of the show about 3 hours maybe
  24. Right now ..even though I have 3 cars entered ..I am probably only going to bring the Lego..that way on Sunday I can go to the Pine Barrens off roading ...plus she has more room for camping gear
