  1. hey Jon..since you and me know that area better then anyone ( for those who dont know...Carlisle and surrounding area is my home town)..maybe we can set up a scenic cruise or something.....just a thought ( or take them up into Perry County..Pa version of Deliverance:grin: ) It would be cool to go up Wagners gap...but I dont think the old schoolers could pull that mountain. Awesome view of the valley from the top.
  2. Here is mine for Bucky..even though I dont even own him any more...IIRC Buck has been tied with Numbchuks or we have been swapping back and forth for the #1 and #2 spot for awhile now http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2654943
  3. Could have a bad ground also somewhere...or the connector is corroded bad... I might have a good EA82 alt around here...let me check and if I do its yours..maybe 2 actually...Let me know
  4. Sorry you missed out on the EA82 wagon...those things are just the most versatile cars. Hopefully there will be another one around. As for the SVX...meh..I just saw one here for $650 with the typical bad tranny ..had 128 K. Not the car for everyone.
  5. MY XT6 had a bad connector on the CTS ( the ER27 is the same as the EA82 just with 2 more cylinders) and had the same symptoms ..ran awesom cold...warmed up ..studdered and stalled etc. I put a new connector on and it helped a great deal.. Also a friend had similar with an EJ22 ..put a new CTS ..purrs like a kitten now. God Luck!
  6. Check your CTS ..sounds like thats where your problem may be..check the connection for corrosion and then the CTS itself. and just for giggles...try swapping another coil into it
  7. NOpe ..that should be an EJ22 and from the way it is sitting it could be a FWD model Even if it was "4WD" it would actually be AWD ..an no dual range. not even selectable
  8. Dammed Skippy!!! And come on..you cant tell me this isnt beautiful ( and all others like it too): I need the outside to green up so I can get a shot like this with his louvers on..looks nekid
  9. I am with the 2 above....just went through this myself . Mine was more on the lines of a minor minor head gasket leak..that resurfaced after replacing... anyway.. OEM T Stat ..only way to go.. you can tell the difference and see why when comparing them. I also direct wired my fans to run continuously now and just bypassed the thermoswitch.. While you are at it ..you might want to flush your radiator. ( I has become a stickler for the cooling systems ..have had too many problems lately with them)
  10. That doesnt look anything like the Weber thats on my coupe...almost looks more like the POS Carter Weber that used to be on it...which I sent sailing through the yard. Does sound like it has a clogged jet and from the looks of the motor ..I wouldnt doubt it. This was my carter weber..minus choke cause some shmuck cut it off when it stopped working: and this is the Weber that we all talk about ..Note its a 2 barrel carb I am not the most up on the carbs but it looks like you have the dreaded Carter Weber ...and IMO ..they are aweful..no power and bad milerage..
  11. I love my framed windows of my 08...no more water leaks..wind noise..I dont have to open the door to get the window to seal properly ( I had to on every other Subaru I own.. so basically 8 outta 9 ) No rattling. But thats just me ..it wasnt a top priority on my reason to buy or not buy a car... But then again .. out of the 45+ cars of every make and model I have owned...I have to still say ..I have seen good and bad in everything..I sware I owned the only bad Toyota truck..2 months of ownership..5 times in the garage for stalling ..and one trip to the JY with a broken crank ( truck has 126K miles on it too) It all comes down to brand loyalty it seems..At the Import Car show last year..the Audi guys came over...looked under the hood of my 83 coupe and said " I dont know how you can like these things..they are so hard to work on"
  12. I have both good and bad with my Subarus...my Loyale...most dependable vehicle I ever owned..and is still dependable for his new owner...and some of the worst vehicles I owned were Subarus..Example ..my XT6..spend more time broke down then running..and I wont ever have another..My coupe is also one that drives me insane. My 93 Impreza..just didnt like anything about it. Yet I love my 08 Imp and havent had a single issue in the 32K miles.. My Plymouth Acclaim was awesome..took till 289K to blow a head gasket...86 VW Golf..tree falling on it took that out..83 Honda Accord..520+ K miles on everything original..and my 82 Honda Prelude..350+K..rust took them out. There is good and bad in everything... some people dont believe we had a Ford Van with 460K on it...( Trusty Rusty the Miracle Van) ... So I think its all from experiece.
  13. I have a place down the street Levine Automotive..that will mix the paint on premises..and does it just from the 3 digit code. They can mix it in both rattle can or pint/quart etc. Its alittle expensive..to me ( $25 a can)...But I got a rattle can for my coupe in Cosmic Blue..Matches perfectly ..except where its sun faded from 26 years. Anyway I can help you get some if you want.
  14. This is a family friendly forum ...:lol::lol::lol:
  15. Here are mine...dont mind the videos...please..we are just a weeeee bit we todd ed .... ( and yes Neo and me beat the crap out of each other all the time) http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f335/Bucky92/2ndTime%20Around/
  16. Thank You! The Lego will be getting some other work done on it before the lift.. But here is a group shot of my kids I took this morning Never really noticed how small LB is compaired to the girls... he looks like a midget car
  17. I noticed that the wheel bearing grease was still a virgin .. LB was really hard to get started this morning ..and had to let him warm up a good 10-15 minutes till he would idle on his own...raised the idle on the carb and advanced the timing some....Needed to get him out of the garage and pull Neos Lego in to swap a coolant temp sensor. That EA81 does sound really good and quiet..going to be nice once we redo the exhaust.I REALLY want to take the coupe for a spin....clutch feels nice and grabby..yay:banana:
  18. Yup!! we have to talk then..BTW..you did the head gaskets right? If so..what gaskets did you use...wondering if I should retorque them today.
  19. I am happy thats for sure...and Thanks again to the gang for helping get it back to being mobile. Great time has been had once again. Great bunch of crazies I hang with. They also repacked on of Steves ( hatchsubs) wheel bearings on his GORGEOUS sedan. We still have to work on the wiring for the analog dash...I keep hoping for a good digi dash since I have the charging sytem at 110% now but ..welll. Do some fine tuning of the motor and then I will work on the minor minor rust spots ( yes it does have a coupe that were there before the car came east). I was hoping for it spending the winter at a body shop but the delay with the motor going bad and lack of funds is going to keep that from happening. Luckily..this car lives in the garage so I dont have to worry much about new rust or the current from getting out of control. Thinking on finding someone who can refinsh the rims since there is some peal and fade to them. I really wanted to take it for a spin around the block yesterday..really I did...but there is salt down..and even though its dry...NO dont want any on the car. I will post more pics and vids later ..and on a side note,,the motor mount bolt notes are there because when pulling the old motor out..we discovered there werent any holding it in...hehehel As for the old motor..John ( backwoodboy) took it with him..he is using the cam for something..hehehe
  20. John ( backwoodboy) rigged up an extremely accurate temp gauge .... reads right down to the 10th of a degree. Motor is running at a solid 169-171 degrees.
  21. Well..Thanks to subaru360...it looks like my coupe WILL be making it to Carlisle...have some bugs to work out and the electrical..but he is running again!! mmmmm Coupe pic from last years Carlisle!
  22. OK..new motor is running...its nice and quiet too!! Running really nice...still needs some fine tuning to the it..timing and some carb tuning..But otherwise..runs nicer then the original did even before it blew its top. Thanks subaru360!!!!!! Nothing is leaking ..so far. We had the usual great time...crazy antics..no major injuries.. And here are a couple pics..will upload some of the videos and stuff later. The usual Neo and me fight: Here LB is out of the garage and running...moving on his own power!!!! More tomorrow
