Hmmm...I am planning on leaving my Impreza at home...too common.. -
Here we go again!! Today is the day...we will be trying to get another motor into my coupe and running..since the original one turned into a disaster on my part. But..I have a question..been getting conflicting stories on this...Since the flywheel bolts go the whole way into the motor..should I or shouldnt I put some RTV on them to keep them from leaking??? We believe that was some of the problem with the oil soaked clutch on my last try..seepage through the bolts along with a leaking rear main. I am still very thankful to BratsRus for the donation of the new flywheel and clutch disk ( OMG the flywheel is sooo pretty I want to hang it on the wall!). njdrsubaru will be here around 8 and backwoodsboy and darlingchip and BUCKY!!!!! will be here around 11..same with hatchsub. I have the chicken and dumplins in the slow cooker..have to bribe the gang with food ..hehehe. Did I mention BUCKY is coming!!:banana: I still love that car..and he is behaving very well for backwoodsboy and family... was told he has been the only 100% dependable car they have. Going to have to have a bonding moment with him...miss the old buckster thats for sure. Anyway..updates and pics of our antics to follow..

DOOOO EEEET!!!! I would LOVE too...I still have a few cans of Maytag white Krylon Rust Tough paint around here..and Rust Bullet..a welder some scrap metal..and pop rivets and fiberglass. You wouldnt recognize Quido when you got him back.if you got him back ..snicker

I LOVE Beast...its in my book of Favorite lifted rigs. ( In Fact..Beast is making the cut for my personal Calander I am working on ( just for me hehehehe Hope you dont mind) of my Favorite Subarus. You now...it does sound alot like the crank..my 81 Toyota SR5 ( was a rare longbed model too) did the same thing..turned out it chewed the end of the crank away to where you couldnt just replace the seal..needed a whole new crank...Not a good thing to happen on the highway at 70 mph..400 miles from home. I ended up giving the truck to the garage ...they put a new motor in it and still use it as a parts truck. I am voting for an out of balance crank..eating up the front main...would kinda explain the vibration too.

Problem is..right now its too cold to do too much without having it in a dry heated garage...you can temp coat it with POR-15 or Rust bullet and in the spring try again...I have also been working with fiberglass more and more and really like it. But the trick is making sure its ALL gone before coating..and get it coated ASAP once sanded..if it sits overnight bare..it will start all over again. So ..just send him to me .. I will pamper him ( me still LOVES EA82 wagons) OH!! Side note..I get to see Bucky today!! He is coming to visit with backwoodsboy and darlingchip..we are working on my coupe

There will be a bunch of us camping ..I am getting 2 sights ..we have had 3 tents on one sight before ..grabbing 2 sights this year so we can fit more since I know of a few who want to join us. -
Mine has been alittle neglected and is still running great...makes me wonder why I ever wasted so much time with the EA ER lines. EJs are way easy to work on thats for sure. My 95 has 183K on it ..and seems good and strong...cant wait to get it lifted and gone over ..then start running it and keep some miles off my Impreza.
-
My 95 Lego 2.2 was doing that too..from sitting and the extreme cold we were having..plus she was a little low on oil. I added a quart of 5w/30 and ran her for about 15 minutes.. started her the next day and was definitely quieter. From what I have been told the EJs are not as fond of seafoam or MMO as the older EA ER lines are. I am still going to add a little and run mine for abit right before we change the oil. Been learning lots about these EJ22s in a short time...the more I am learning ..the more I am liking them

There is a spray tint on the market..I am not sure what its called ..but hatchsub did his tail lights on his sedan with really nice results. I have toyed with doing it to my 08 Imp..but now I am used to the clear tails .

Just remember..when doing your entry/ entries..to put Ultimate Subaru down as the club so we can get credit for the tent. we need 25 so enter what you can...it does NOT have to show up. I am entering 3 now but will probably only have the Legacy to bring down..I highly doubt the coupe will be anywhere close to ready and we all know my view on bringing my Imp down..thats only a last resort. I will be sending my entries in in 2 weeks...3 cars and 2 camp sights And then closer to the date we will have to start our food thread ( Mrs Whirlys bean dip yum!) -
Yet another Sea Foam thread...
Bucky92 replied to MR_Loyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have been using both seafoam and MMO for many many many years with my cars..and IMO they work best when added to the oil then putting a few hundred miles on it..usually within 500 miles of an oil change. With it being cold the thinning of the oil is almost a good thing...Just remember though..if you have a small oil leak..the thinner will make it appear to worsen . My usual routine is...half a can in the gas tank and the remainder in the crank case and drive. My 92 Loyale used to LOVE both MMO and seafoam. Another alternative is to swap a quart of oil with a quart of ATF..it also has extremely good results. -
I am hapy she is home..and thanks to the efforts on Neo part.We couldnt look into her too much just because it was just too cold. It was hard enough being out with the tow truck driver getting her unloaded. I feel for that guy..being out all day doing stuff like that. OPnce the weather breaks and it warms up some..we will be heading to harrys U pull it for stuff. As for my coupe..yup next weekend we are planning to have the motor in and it running again..I have the help of a few of the other old schoolers coming ( backwoodsboy darlingchip and hatchsub ..along with neo) so it should be an interesting experience. Right now I am looking more forward to getting the Lego going..I wish I could take her along today to the Pine Barrens for a play date:-\

Ben that sucks about the van.. Hope it warms up for you guys soon... No where close to as bad as you guys got it ...but still really bad for here..just checked and its -7 right now and thats brutal. Couldnt image. I feel for you guys when the heating bill comes for this month..I know your systems HAVE to be working OT. You know ..I thought about the same thing when I had Bucky...and after having him gutted for abit..I think there might be some room for the thin thin stuff But I believe...like a house...most of the heat loss is through the windows. And Guido rocks!! Cause even Holly was having issues starting..and Guido is doing great gotto love those EA82 wagons sometimes
