Do you think guys think I should order new valve cover and oil pan gaskets for the new motor.??.I want to swap mine from the old motor over ( slightly better shape) thing is...both motors have a fresh reseal so all gaskets are new.

New motor is officially in the garage...need to strip parts from the old one to put in the new one..clean it and make it all pretty...and our goal is to be dropping it into the coupe on the weekend of the 24th. Keep your fingers crossed. If this doesnt work ..we are just going to say..screw it..EJ22.

I will be doing my entries this friday after I get paid..want to know if I should grab 1 or 2 camping spces ( since I usually do take care of the camping for anyone who wants to hang with us) I am thinking 2 spaces this year cause I know of at least 1 other who wants to join in your camping festivities. Let me know what you think?? going for 2 cars and 2 spaces??

I think..with the help of the members on the board..we all should have no problems finding the parts needed to get your baby back together. I know as a fact I have the turnsignal and headlight bezel sitting in my basement right now ..Its not much but I would gladly donate it to the cause.

Sounds to me like typical cold weather condensation steam...and an exhaust leak.check the condition of your exhaust.

And you have to watch out for those mud pits...but just in case I will bring the rubber ducky

I see the prices of what people are getting the 08s for now and I cringe...I was one of the first people to get the 08 in my area ( was told within the first 5 to 10 sold locally from my dealer) and with the little extras I got on my base 2.5i I paid what you did for your WRX: but 30k miles later and still never had a problem with her.

I will be doing my usual..entering 2 cars and getting a camp sight...maybe 2 cause it seems each year more gather to our little humble homestead. Not sure which car will make the trip...right now it looks like it will be my Impreza :-\. We are also in the works of possibly ..POSSIBLY ..bringing a west coaster over for the show.

Far from good actually..have to replace the motor...and then the tranny needs replaced too sometime in the future.. Grrrrr We sent the pics to Tom at AWD.inc and he said ..Nope ..garbage..probably caused by oil starvation..I have a new oil pump on it I need to inspect..and the marks were not there when I originally tore it apart

Yup...not going to let that sweet dialed in set up I have go to waste now:)

Gary... Neo tested the thermoswitch and it was bad..also had a blown relay..so the fan wasnt coming on when it should..Found some other wireing issues but nothing major..we pulled the motor to put the new rear main in it along with a new clutch disk and flywheel. ( it was so easy the second time..had it out an on the floor in about 20 minutes and that included our fighting that Neo and me always do). So while we had it out we desided to pull the heads quick..better safe then sorry. Plus he said the motor just didnt sound right when it was running.So another 5 minutes per side ( OMG so easy the second time around) and we did find a bad spot in one of the gaskets..then upon further investigation..we spotted the scoring. After discussion we said..no more..not worth doing anything else to a 236K mile motor. And lucky enough subaru360 still has his EA81 ..so that is being picked up Sat.Then we will work on that one and drop it in. OH and the mark towards the top of the cylinder is from coolant sitting there..the deep scores towards the back are probably from debris or something.

I got one for you...my RIP rot box XT6 that went to subaru heaven this spring: Before: and this was his good side On the other side right below where it says XT6..there was nothing ..all gone..also doesnt show the clear coat peal...and the flappy fenders and doors..duct taped window...etc . after:..Rocky!!! ( sometimes I miss him...but not the headaches)
