  1. NOpe ..see those side badges under the windows.... I have a brand NewOld Stock ..last pair in the country..coming They are like the Holy Grail for coupe people
  2. Thank you ..but I think of it as an honor to all us Subaru owners...its nice to see one get some recognition in a field of muscle cars and antiques. OH and here cobcob.. I got your stinking louvers:-p;):
  3. And just for Mary..Here is LB the coupe ( wearing his louvers) with Holly my Imp
  4. Thats my yard..I sent them 3 shots..kinda wish they would have used the one with the louvers on it. Mary..mine ran really good ..drove it 600 r/t without issues ...all this not knowing the HGs were going. I should have something tomorrow ..according to my source..extremely rare for it..and the last pair in the country.Brand new. I need to get my rear in gear and button him back up ..I have done some work since that pic was taken ..to the nose..and I miss driving it.
  5. LOL Jerry .. I havent driven it in what seems forever...he is still sitting in pieces in the garage. I loaned out the Weber to someone who was desperate to get there only car running ( you just rebuilt their Weber). He says he loves the carb BTW and mine has helped out so much.
  6. As many know ,,Rock Auto puts out a monthly newsletter ..and each month they feature someones car.. This month my coupe made it as the featured car! http://www.rockauto.com/Newsletter/index.html Makes me feel good cause I usually see someone Camaro, or Super Bee, or Chevy Nomad. Glad to see a little Subaru was worthy.
  7. My cross bars are 3 inched wide by 2 inches tall with a spacing of 33 inches outside to outside. This might be the one!! I didnt want one that was huge or bulky like I see so oftern.. I wanted something smaller.. Crap! ..just was reading spacifics...the clamps are only good for 1 inch thick.. mine are 2 inches...would have to modify
  8. The new style cross bars on the 08 Imps are wide and thick...when we put on my Thule bike rack ..the front mount fit ..but the rear had to be made due to the width of the bars and the thickness. I will take some measurements tomorrow. That is the nicest basket I have seen yet.. Here is a crappy camera phone pick to give you the idea of the bulk of the rack ( I thought my Hollister looked cute next to my friends justy at the dealer):
  9. They just suck! My 08 5 door just spent 3 days in the body shop to fix a biffed rocker ( dealer didnt have it on the lift right..accidents happen..they took care of it..no biggy.no reason to freak) and they gave me an 08 Imp sedan AT for a loaner. That tranny just sucks..sport shift?? JOKE... I wasnt even beating it ...like most would do with loaners. Here is the major things I noticed: ( note 4K mile 2.5i sedan verses my 20K mile 2.5i 5 door..both base model) 1. slow between gears..and constantly seemed confused on which gear to be in. 2. slow...just slow...I had to use sport mode to get on the highway and found the hesitation between shifts..unbearable..it was a joke. 3. Gas mileage... I get 32-34 mpg with my 5 spd...and thats with roof rack with a bulky bike mount ..the sedan couldnt get over 28. I might be spoiled with my 5 spd ..but the differences were huge IMO. It just re-enforced my opinions on ATs. I hope that they all arent like that...if so...wow..I am terribly unimpressed and thats sad. On another note..I looked at the 09 Forester and was suprised at the price..very reasonable..had one that was only about $1K more then y Imppy. ( it was a base 5 spd..and I had some extras put on my Imp)
  10. I want one of those for my 08 Imp.. I wonder if the rack mounting hardware will fit the new style cross bars on my Imp.. We had to fabricate and adapter to make my Thule bike rack fit.
  11. Nope...Mines good... But I got something better coming. The Holy Grail for coupe owners....we will leave it at that. That is kinda nice though.
  12. Hummmm..since I am going to be in Seattle for my B day...hint guys! winkie wink.
  13. Congrats again Kyle!!!!Glad you two had a great time. Your Cake has to be one of the best Subaru cakes I have seen to date!
  14. Whatever Rob wants to plan..I am leaving it all in his hands.. I just promised one person that while out there I want to do a little rust repair for them ( us East Coasters know how to fix some rust :-p) Going to be tight on time again..Next year ..if I cant bribe these guys into coming here..I should be able to spend alittle while longer then an extended weekend out there. ( more vacation time) I cannot wait!
  15. Definately Russ.. BTW..I bought the tickets ..spent the grocery money but wanted to get them while the price was insanely low. Oct30- Nov 3rd..y'all will be torchered with this east coasters presence again
  16. I was talking and pricing..and looks like I may be heading back out to Seattle for another visit near the end of Oct early Nov.. This should just be for a visit ...cause I really miss some people. As soon as I lock in the dates and get the ticket ..I will post.:banana: off peak ticket prices are actually very affordable
  17. I wouldnt jump to conclusions that its the worst possible thing..mine bubbled alot worse and it was a minor gasket leak..Gary..you should know ..since you deal with alot of XT6s its usually something simple first;)
  18. Gary..did you notice this problem in the over flow right? So the radiator cap was on I am guessing? Have you tried replacing that first..I know someone who had the exact same concern..swapping the cap solved the problem. Having just done and been dealing with a minor head gasket failure I have learned a good bit. I checked mine by removing the radiator cap and running the car..letting it get up to temp and letting the T stat open up.. ( Note there wasn't any bubbling until the T stat opened) Then I had this: Is this the motor you were questioning the cracks in on a previous thread BTW?
  19. ^ what cougar said...my local dealer used to treat me like garbage..I was even told by thier parts manager that I should junk my old Subarus and refused to order parts. I ended up talking to the co owner and SOA about them..well..the Co Owner got me into my 08 Impreza with ease..and now I am on a first name basis with everyone there and get the royal treatment. I am also one of the few customers allowed out into the work bay area while my car is being worked on.( They have learned that I actually know my stuff ). If done gracefully ..something should be done.. Good Luck!
  20. Like any paint ..etc..you are going to have to sand down your current paint...just enought to scuff it up so whatever you use can stick to it..it also helps to remove any wax that might be on the car. There isnt a product out there ( that I know of ) that does not require prep work
  21. There are 3 kinds of Rust Bullet...I use the automotive and it leaves a silver finish..I also use thier metal prep too for bare metal. Its a very think paint..just so you know...and a little goes a long way. Now..paint does NOT like sticking to the Rust Bullet..if you want to paint over it you will have to sand it smooth and use a primer before paint. In any case..I would still try to sand as much of the rust off as possible..the more you get off the better chance you have of it not returning. If you plan on painting the whole car plan on spending some money also..the product is not cheap ( a half pint runs about $10) and its not a spray on thickness..its thick and will leave brush marks. You will still have to sand/scuff your entire car before applying..thats just how its is ..if you want to paint the entire thing. I have painted rust bullet directly over rust and it appears to slow it down..but it is not a fix.
  22. Thanks for the pics... I really like it:)..This was my Justy: You get the best cars over there...I love the R1 and R2s..and the Pleos. Nice car..congrats.( I am jealous)
