So true!! When I had the XT6... I had a guy in a vette constantly want to race ( For those who dont know..my XT6 was very..ummm.. one of a kind...painted like a pissed off hornet..black and yellow). I kept telling him to wait for it to rain or snow..to even the playing field.... he always refused on those days.

hehehehe.. done that plenty myself with my 08 Impreza and my XT6... Ate up a Z28 with my Imp on wet roads...and many on dry with my XT6. Nothing like being spanked by an old lady in a Subaru.

Dude.. I used to OWN an auto detail company I think I know how to fully detail a car. And was fully aware of my front rims and know what brake dust does. And to correct you..it was more rust dust from the rotors since the car sits so much..not brake dust. FYI detailing also involved removing all accessories to clean underneath too. As for L.B.s air cleaner...lets just say he is a "Seeker" now

85 G3 clutch disk in a 82 G2
Bucky92 replied to bobaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
There were 2 different size clutches for EA81s..I dont recall the specifics..but it was something that was mentioned to me a few times when I was redoing my motor and clutch assembly. I believe in 83 they went to the larger size..but 82 and older it could be either large or small. So I assume that would mean there are 2 different sized flywheels? I could be wrong though. -
Transplanted Pennsyltuckian here... Middletowner actually ( yes Home of the Famous Three Mile Island accident...and yes I was there when it happened..could see it from our back door). Be thankful for PA.. Connecticut sux!!!.. You have a good group of people in PA. Besides the people..its one of the prettiest places ( you dont realize it until you are away from it). And the food!! Oh I miss the food. OK I am home sick now. Oh Spark.. York is more like South central PA....hehehehe

Very Nice!! Love the color. I have a few friends in NZ as well as Australia..they are 2 or the 3 places I someday want to visit in my lifetime..the 3rd being Egypt.

I happen to be one of the couple of us...coupe owners on the board. ( mine is a hardtop..see avatar pic.) The converts were installed in 2 places..one in California the other here on the East coast in New Jersey ( I believe). And yes...they do haul!!! especially when you get rid of the horrible Carter or hitachi carb and put a weber in. BTW this should be postyed in the old gen side..the others will be more likely to see it and I know some have pics of the converts.

Think its safe to re-install the Digi Dash??
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well thats you... you werent restoring a car to original condition for show purposes. I am spending ALOT of money to bring this car back to show room..and being from a collector car area of the country.. by swapping it will lower its future value. Ask me how I know this?? I have restored a few cars in my day. If the car was to be a daily driver etc.. I would be right with you though. -
Well.. doing some tire reseach since my front tires on my Lego dont seem to want to hold air anymore ( yet the tread is great on them..no nails..checked) I have come to find out..that they are too small.. no wonder my speedo is off by almost 5mph. So there is another reason why mine gets horrible mileage...and is slower then molasses.

Finding the Model of my Soobie
Bucky92 replied to Az Flux's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
OK here are a few things..what year is it? is it D/R 4WD or Single range 4WD power windows and door locks or cranks? does the dash have a tach? It looks to be a GL ..since the DLs are basically stripped down..no options. It also has the single headlights ..where DLs have the quad. I find that to be a very beautiful car BTW. -

if someone wants to show me a picture of this..please do.. I have mentioned before..I may build electronic stuff..but I dont know any more then that about it. Give me a blue print etc to work with. cause all you are speaking to me is greek. -
Sounds like a Brighton model. And even so..if its been maintained..and is in decent shape..the price sounds pretty decent. They run for $3000+ here for Gen 2s Gen 1s can bring an easy $1500. I could easily sell my 95 LS wagon ..with 194K for over around that... and its in OK shape. Of course you know what to do.... offer less and see what happens.

My EA82 overheats daily. Help please!!!
Bucky92 replied to catalina68's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No one here mentioned..making sure the system has been burped properly.. From what I have read it sounds like a nice large air bubble in the system. -
I am jealous.. I can barely get 230 miles to a tank with my 95 Lego LS wagon AT EJ22. I never run my gas tanks low low..With everything else but the lego... if the light comes on its at the first gas station I find...just a wierd pet peeve of mine. The Lego I have never had the light come on yet. But ..for instance.. right now..it is sitting about 1/32 of an inch about the E mark..no light on.. an I only got 210 miles out of it. For those who know my gas mileage thing.. I am spoiled..my 08 Imp gets 32+ ..my old 92 Loyale ( fwd 5 spd) could easily get 40 but averaged in the mid to upper 30s. Even my 88 XT6 ( ER27 FT4WD 5 spd) was 28-30. I am blaming the AT..seems all my MT cars always got superb mileage... the only AT I have had in ages is such a slow gas guzzling pig. Yet when my husband drives it ..he likes it..doesnt see what I do.

Thats what I was thinking Steve..Plus ..you know.. those Digi Dashes are so cool ..like retro cool when they work... You wouldnt believe how good that car is running now.. If one good thing happened... we all know I can have that digi back out in seconds.. installed and removed enough of them. -

Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Gary.. I wish it was that easy.. the EA81 Digi is the weakest of the ones with Digis...and its very specific. Even the analog swap is a chore...if you want it to work like it was original equipment...the wiring is completely different. Nice thing is... the car doesnt get driven..and even if it did it would be down for the winter now. I would just like to know what more is going on with the motor when I run it.. We did install the most accurate temp gauge imaginable awhile ago..so I have no worries there. -
Seems that Little L.B.s electrical issues are completely under control .. Battery is holding the charge beautifully..and the charging system is flawless now.... re-installed his ign switch.. he is just purring like a kitten now. ( except 2 of his tires have gone flat :-\ ). If he sits for a couple weeks ..takes about 3 tries to get him started..but if its just a day or 2 he fires up first try!! Not to shabby for having a non-working choke. I am wondering and wanting opinions... think its safe to install his working digi dash? Or should I just hold up until after he is finished being stripped down and sent off for body and paint work? I think its my biggest fear is to blow that dash...it took so long to find a working one. Oh for the newer people.. L.B is my 83 Lil Blue GL-10 coupe..weberized EA81 Sometimes I do forget how much I LOVE that little car... He has been cheering me up the past couple days.
