  1. I also vote for a 2.2 Lego..you will get improved ride,handeling,comfort,DEPENDABILITY...and still have the non interference motor..the EJ22 is proven bullet proof. And they can be had easily in the $3000 range for a nice one.
  2. Now I feel bad Buckys fuel pump has always been noisey...he had been sitting for awhile..maybe water in the tank?? You toss some dry gas in him...he likes seafoam...Also check his timingand the Maf..If there isnt a Maf inthe box I sent with you ..I might have one somewhere. He always did need a bit of a warm up before going anywhere. I still feel bad now
  3. Then give yourself peace of mind:grin: Also..a suggestion...when you are ready for a new CD player..I can recomend the Sony X Plode...Bucky had one..which was stolen to put in Rocky..so many of my friends have them ..all for the same reason..sound good...hold up well...aux port in the front ..and cheap ( Mine was $89 at Wally World) And yes I had fun today coming home ( cept for the fact it took 2 and a half hours when it usually takes alittle over 1)...passing all the Beemers and Mercedes..and one of those funky looking Audi coupe things...in my little Imp...just chugging right through...radio cranked..singing..lalala..while they had the death grip on the steering wheel.
  4. My XT6 with FT4WD with diff lock was horrid...i had an easier time with my 92 Loyale wagon with bald snow tires on it...This little Imppy with the tires that came on it from factory ( Potenzas ..I think the R23s or something)did really good...I was having a blast...shame there was so much traffic that I couldnt have some real fun. I sware..everytime I drive this car I love it more and more
  5. I finally got to drive my 08 Imppy in some real snow...and here is my first impression. Awesome!! She is poetry in motion..My street was un-plowed ( which is unusual actually) 6-7 inches down..white out conditions..She just chugged right through ...should I mention that its about 2 miles from the main road to my house and my street is hilly curve and fun when its dry. There is a off camber down slopped turn right before my driveway..that when it snows we take bets on how many cars are going to hit the guard rail....She just kept in control the whole time..Now I wasnt flying but I wasnt creeping either. OK I dont like the anti-lock brakes...but if you lighten up on the pedal you can control them bettwe..Also if gassing it hard and turning at same time..it will kick the back out but its so easy to bring back under control. I got no wheel spin pulling up my unplowed driveway...I think with some snow treads she would be extremely fantastic!! I havent felt so in control or confident in a car for a long time...so on a scale from 1-10..she is a 9.2( cause of the anti-lock brakes and tires )
  6. Fix the axle..how bad is the other side? how bad is the wheel bearing? Anything else it is needed?? You do want to put this money into the car right? determine whats the worst for wear and go from there.Guido will appreciate the pampering and pay you back by taking care of you;)
  7. I like the looks on thier faces too...its priceless...Its a combination of awe, jealousy, anger, and curiousity...all rolled into one.
  8. But I am not Matt:-p And its my first ever brand new car...And if you noticed..I am anal about it..there isnt allowed to be any dirt in it or on it:grin: . I am actually planning on putting a heavy coat of wax on it before going to FL cause of the bug guts that are going to be getting on it;) Neo..we are leaving early Sat moring and will be going 95 also..Look for the white 08 Imppy 5 dr with CT plates and tinted windows:grin:
  9. Mine had the 14 inch wheels ( dont forget I was running XT6 rims)
  10. I liked my 93 Imp EJ18 5spd..but I didnt "LIKE" my 93. The gas mileage was around the 30ish range..but I felt it still had the " couldnt get out of its own way" thing that the EA82s had. But when swapping from an EJ18 and an ER27 every couple days..you would tend to think it was WAY underpowered. Its was dead even ( If you ask me) with my EA82..but my EA82 was also a FWD and that makes a difference. And like edrach...I only drive manuals so no comment on ATs ( cept I think they make good boat anchors;) )
  11. Paulyburger..Now you saw my Imp first hand....do you honestly think I am going to take her off roading in any way shape or form?? Absolutely No Way.!! She is my baby baby....She goes into the shop on Monday for her first oil change and gone over ( checking the belts tightening the cables etc..checking all fluids etc etc). If it wasnt for that paid week off we wouldnt be going down to FL..Its tempting to work though ( they asked our dept) $60+ an hour:eek:
  12. Over the week between Christmas and new years..going down to see Tommys parents..as a suprise....We will be driving my beautiful and lovely Holly ( 08 Imppy 5 dr) so we can bring the dog...Already plan on hooking up with dearon since we will be about 40-50 miles from him ( We are going to Palm City right on the east coast and this is my out. ). We will be heading down the Rt95 way...so anyone else along the way etc..let me know:)
  13. Cause I dont have an EA82 wagon anymore...I wont do it to my XT6 and there is NO WAY I would do it to my 08 Imppy. I had been looking for an EA82 wagon but when I got the 08 I stopped..plus prices went through the roof and all the ones I was interested in got scarfed up either while I was in process of making the arrangements to have it looked at ...or while waiting for replies via email. Maybe someday....Right now I am getting the XT6 ready for a trip to the body shop for frame repair and a repaint..and no time or funds. Can't wait to see new pics...nothing prettier and cooler then a lifted EA82 wagon
  14. Paul!! With the history of head gasket failure in those motors being so common.. I woud have probably dont the same as you. Just keep you eye on her for a bit..and Happy Holidays!
  15. The bubbles are a definate sign of head gasket..but the others seem to be a rad cap.. That motor is so prone to gasket failure though...Have you burped the system also?? I know you know about that:) . Let us know what happens after the hour drive.
  16. MMMM Arkansas...My favorite state/place I have ever been too...I have friends in a tiny town in southern Ark called Smackover ( Just north of El Dorado) .. The owned a bike shop down there and if I would have moved there instead of CT:confused: .. I would have been working there ..working on the bikes ( they had a Moto Guzzi that had everyone stumped... I got her running in about a half hour) Sweet Brat.Nice drive I bet. I will be taking a road trip south in a couple weeks..going to Florida to see my husbands parents
  17. I am happy for you...SOA seems to really step up when needed..and really want to keep their customers happy... I have been in contact with them a few times and they always reply in a positive way. I am actually working with them now to help with a design flaw in the roof rack system of the 08 Imps and a nasty rattle I get. We have swapped cross bars multiple times and its still there..But I figured out the cause and removed the culprit..until the perm fix is made. Good Luck! Want to see how it is once its back and finished. From one Happy Subaru Customer to Another;)
  18. I was a huge VW fan way back...had a 65 Karman Ghia Convert with a Porche 914 motor in it.. I had to laugh at Steve mentioning VWtrend..I was a subscriber for years! Mary you are lucky..I wrote down my substitutions:grin: for the pumpkin bread ( I am so glad you liked it..first time I made it). Looks like WBM might have some more old school this year;)
  19. Seahag ( Mary) has 2 of the prettiest Brats you are ever going to see on the East Coast:grin: and she is close to the coast. ..Lookin like we are going to have to plan a big gathering in the middle and get everyone together
  20. Welcome to the board! .. I usually have a yearly cookout at my house in CT ( North Western CT) and there are plenty of us New Englander Subaru nuts...We also go down to Carlisle PA for the Import Car show Pics are here...Mine is the Yellow and Black XT6: http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f335/Bucky92/Carlisle2007/ There is also a group that likes to go off roading in NJ at the Pine Barrens. Forgot to mention Wicked Big Meet in Mass
  21. My first Soob was my 88 GL wagon..Silver FWD 5spd...just used it as a work horse...hauling the dogs to dog shows...delivering newspapers..beating the snots outta it..But it was what gave me the love for Subarus.I think the exhaust fell off at the y pipe and it needed axles and I think one on the rear struts bit it..I took it to auction and got what I paid for it $500..I regret it all the time though
  22. possessed dash electronics?? Enlight on what they are doing..if its light coming on for no apparent reason..glowing..etc..The alt may be hosed..when they start to self destuct they make the dash light seem possessed and do crazy things
  23. OK..dont take this the wrong way please..just going to cover the usuals: You are putting it in the right way? You pulled it off the right car..not a turbo or something that takes the other axle? Since I have never done axles yet Thats about all I can think of
