  1. ..OR..Buckys starting to feel better now...still have to pull the rear wheels and trim the foam and undercoat the bajeebas out of the wheel wells...but sealed up tight . I re-enforced the metal where I am bolting the seat belts back up to with fiberglass (Still no passangers will be allowed back there). I am not bothering sanding the glass down..just going to toss a coat of paint on and we should be good to toss the interior back in:grin:
  2. Lucky you!!! Thats one of my dream Subarus..that and/or a yellow Baja ( but then again..I want to have one of every Subaru). I kinda understand ya though..when I drive my Imp you can't tell have fast you are going its so smooth..yet my other 2 ( specially the Loyale) you feel like you are going fast when you are doing 40:rolleyes:
  3. I want the leone one!!..and wish i could read japanese too..they get all the cool stuff:-\
  4. I am also voting for wet ditsy..I learned years ago..when degreasing a motor ..wrap it in a plastic bag.
  5. You could just swap a 5spd in the new sedan and you will notice a huge differenceyou really dont have to do the EA82T ...the 3EATs just plain suck. There is a complete write up on this board about whats involved in doing the swap and step by step instructions I believe. I haven done it personally but I know someone who did on their ea81 ( hatchsub) and that car moves now!
  6. Try pulling it out..taking a blow dryer to the inside of it..making sure its 100% dry and reinstalling it..make sure the bulb is sealed and seated good..might have had some trapped moisture when you first put it in.
  7. Not to defend anyone..but my EJ18 Imp can run circles around my Loyale..and in reality..a CRX can toast a Loyale..cept when it snows..then our EA82s car roast almost anything ( cept other subarus) But look at it this way...yup..that CRX can eat you alive...but us EA82 owners can haul a refridgerater ( and look like one too) ..now stuff that into your CRX
  8. Sorry to hear this Jessie..but at least your girlfriend is alright ..and thats the important part. Not concerned about the car ..more concerned about her..the car can be replaced
  9. I did all the bodywork and paint on that XT6 myself..it was a rot heap when I got it but it does have a new SOA ER27 in it..its quirkie but really a fun car..and Thanks BTW!
  10. I love all 3 of my Soobs...Even though each is different and has their own personality: My newest..93 Impreza L 5 spd AWD aka Pheebie: She is in the process of getting the rust fixed and will be daily driver: My 88 XT6 5 spd FT4WD aka Rocky..the rebellous one..was a grey rot heap..now he goes to shows. ( Killboy photo from 2 weeks ago at the Alcyone meet) And my 92 Loyale 5pd FWD Bucky! The good son..adore this car he is parked for now getting some underbody issues addressed and needs a few other things but has been dead reliable for almost 5 years now..This is the love of my life: Sometimes a thread like this is good..it outweighs all the others:)
  11. Glad you are OK and thats the important part..and once again...A Subaru gave itself to protect its best friend and owner. Vicki did what she had to ..to protect you. Whatever caused it..a bubbled tire or a seized wheel bearing or whatever...the car did wonderful. It could have been worse.
  12. Yup addict..we all start with just one...then end up with 2..then 3...and each one has its own use and purpose and personality
  13. I am not AC literate here to bare with me...my 93 Imp L Sedan.. AC works ..blows semi cold..then stops and blows warm ..until you shut it off for a few minutes..then when you turn it back on ..cold for a few then back to warm. Is this the signs of a recharge is in need or something else like compressor etc...BTW its still an R-12 system
  14. Where actually are you at in CT?? I am in New Milford and if you can get it here I can possibly take a look at some things if you want...considering I just delt with an overheating issue myself with my XT6...What Garage worked on it BTW? I would first flush the system..if you have to for now..run without the T stat and see if that cools it off...make sure the fans are working..If not jump them to run constantly for now. Just some quick idea to temporarily cool it off. And your BF is a schmuck if he says to just drive it like that! If my husband ever said that I would drag him for miles behind it:grin:
  15. Nip Nip NIp!!! We want pictures..you should know that by now....we are all picture whores so sneak over and get us some pictures!!!
  16. Welcome to your new obsession!! Yup the Justy would be in the Old Gen forums
  17. :slobber: who needs to spend big money of fancy exhausts..just poke a hole in it somewhere and there ya go:) :slobber: ER27 with the muffler just "set" on the pipe..not welded ..pppuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  18. You can just jump them for now so they run continually..its hot out so it wont hurt anything..thats how I run my XT6 right now.. If its like the 6 the sensor should be in the radiator..basically right where the fan plugs in...I think there may be a relay also..I read about that some time back when I was having probs
  19. Oh yes! right off an exit on RT81 in VA..in a Burger King parking lot..I got pics to prove it!:
  20. Oil smoke is blue BTW:) ..and if you are getting coolant into the exhaust it will still have the smell of burning antifreeze. It does sound like the mechanics are giving you the run around...they just dont WANT to work on the car....any mechanic who sayd they dont do engine work...well they arent a mechanic Not a turbo person either but: How much coolant are you going through? and mileage on the motor? Is the car getting hot? I know from ready the posts that turbos are notorious for head gaskets..and also some leaking into the turbo ( or was that oil?) I know some of the turbo people will be on later and can help more
