Digital dash Q's TURBONE SPEAK UP!
LUVMYBRAT replied to LUVMYBRAT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I agree to that, I 've swapped a few alts into it already, but I believe theres no hope for the one presently in the car, dash that is. I want to know the truth behind turbo/non-turbo digi dash swapping. This is the only dash I've been able to locate and would like to fix the issue, I'm getting close to preparing my mind for a anolog swap, should be able to get the necessary parts, but if this dash I found is good and will swap, I'd rather do that. -
So I've got an 85 brat and I'm gonna buy my kids turbo coupe off her. I'm moving and will have about a 90 mile round trip commute after the move. Which one would most likely get better mileage in normal conditions.

Well I found a donar car with digi dash for 50.00 hope it works? well j/y man say could be prob cause mines a turbo, donar car a non turbo. My thought was maybe just turbo light wont work or some thing stupid like that. My real concern is Speedo, gas gauge and if I'm lucky the tach. I couldn't care less if turbo light or other idiot light doesn't work. thoughts on this? what about it Turbone? you seem to know quite a bit about these digi dash scenarios? :-\

ya know clutch cables are fairly inexpensive and easy to chage. This was my problem, cable fray and rust inside the sleeve "SNAP" it did go. new cable made the car feel like a new one. -
ya know I'd have to look at the build date again, but I could be and most likely am wrong. I'll check it out and get back to ya. Its my kids so it could be a day or two.

Welcome to Wyoming Hondasucks, I dont think you saw my brat, mines red with lots of lights. The blue one is owned by a old guy here in town, probably 65-75 yrs old. Anyways too bad I'm on night shift right now 4pm-2am but my office is in refinishing. When you come through from collision look up the green stairs and thats my office. I've been spinnin around town for awhile and have found some pretty good project vehicles, I'm sorry but I will not disclose thier location, I want them! Hope you enjoy your tour. See YA AROUND. -

Hatch Driveline Length?
LUVMYBRAT replied to spanky_pete's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I could possibly have one i'd need to check first. -
Thats what I'm runnin. works for me, opens up secondaries sooner, you'll lose some gas milage and gain a little more pedal response.
-
I had the exact problem and this was my issue. It might not be yours but it's worth checking. My clutch cable was bad . I put a buch of new stuff into clutch but it still slipped. I thought all kind of bad things. I even thought to check the cable by dis-connecting it and pushing pedal in and out. That didn't work. It wasn't until I pulled cable all the way out and manually moved it when I realized it was binding severly, a 25.00 cable and its never been better. I now have a complete spare unit because of the things I bought and replaced tryingto fix it. Check it out before you pull the clutch apart, ya never know?

I'm Lookin at a 80 datsun 210 sedan that came into the school today and I seem to remember some one saying that older foriegn cars had some webers on them. Do you think this datsun could have one, and what do I look for?

what do you use to remove decal glue residue?
LUVMYBRAT replied to mcbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
be aware that the "eraser" works well on tough urathane, polyurathane and other durable paint systems. Older paint systems used on older vehicles can be "burned" by using the eraser improperly -
I'm on what subynut's on 185/80/13's

Your local body shop supply store should carry something that could do-it. 3M makes a product called general adhesive remover comes in pint can, works pretty good, makes the glue all snotty like then you wipe it off. There a number of products out there,go to the bodyshop stores. -

Using spare tire 15" rims
LUVMYBRAT replied to LUVMYBRAT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The tires I have are actually 195/60/15 which are about 1/2 inch shorter than the 185/80/13's I have now there just a really nice set of studded snows almost new in fact that I got for free, The spares I have and the mounting will cost nothing(free) also. I thought the tire quality would help me crawl up after some deer and elk a little better than what I'm runnin, i think eventually I'm doin the six lug swap. but for now?!? -
Chime in people, I know this has been hashed over before but a search turned up nothing. Sooo.... I want to possibly use the 15" spare tire rims for my brat. Now I know that their only 4" wide which could bring on some issues. I don't abuse my ride as much as some of you do, but would like to use it for hunting and I have a pretty nice set of 15" tires and a ready supply of those spare tire rims, I also have the access to do the mounting of the tires on the small size rims. I remember some one saying that was a reason why some wont do it cause no one would mount them for them. I would like everyones thoughts on this, and isn't there a few that have done this? SPEAK UP PEOPLE.

no cash, no place to put
-
I'm starting to really stress on some issues here Over the course of my time as a Subaru brat owner I've stumbled across several "deals" on cars and got connected and found plenty of other vehicles that have potential. I can never afford them, have no place to put them, but desire so much to want them. :the latest 89 RX AWD 3DR TURBO A/T, It's sitting in salvage yard needing only a qtr glass and some TLC naturally, he'll sell the car whole to me not sure how much yet, but I probobly can't get it anyways It's black with gold, looks to be a quality project car and I WANT IT. How does one deal with such tempting issues :
