  1. Where are the fuel pumps located on EA82 cars and EA81 cars? I'm adding a EA82 on to existing EA81 for a swap project and need their locations.
  2. what if I use the ecu from EA82T will that help the fuel pressure issue that your talkin about? And as long as I have everything what about using the turbo intake and all the other goodies from that and leaving the spfi for another project?
  3. whoa whoa whoa, back up a bit here. I'm not asking what kind of for any multi turbo, quad injection, powerband tire smokin set up here. I have a spfi set up and a EA82t set up, ecu, harness turbo intake, spfi intake, harness ect.ect.. Can I with these units, not anything else, put together a spfi swap with turbo on a EA81 carbed motor with a limited amount of fab work. I know about the disty mod and egr block off and so on. But will the turbo and spfi coincide together??
  4. I thought turbo had a different spline count?
  5. there is a guy by the neame RGUYVER who had put spfi on an ea81 hatch and a TURBO! Found this on a search for spfi. I happen to have access to a spfi set up, ecu, intake, whole nine yards. And also a EA82 Turbo, up-pipe, down pipe. Where is this guy? and I understand the spfi scenario, but what about the addition of turbo? how much more work is needed? is it all mainly bolt up? I deal with the issues that greggbrat had, hill climbin everyday on I-80 UPHILL BOTH WAYS!
  6. Real basic question. Besides the turbo 3.7 are all EA81 axles the same? I'm talkin front and I mean 2wd,4wd auto or man
  7. 87 gl wagon d/r 5spd with fuel issues?? sounded like fuel filter or pump maybe. 400.00
  8. Old Cadillac horns are very good, 4 all together. easy to hook up. They'll never know where it came from.
  9. hey that hatch got hauled off today, but that 80/81 wagon is still here, you'll be needing to get the stuff off it pretty quick before that gets hauled off too. Otherwise you'll need to wait til the red wagon that was in the shop is ready for scrap-3 months.
  10. I'll try and post a pic of mine tomorrow, and could possibly be willing to sell it. Some have cut adapter plates and holes in to console then screwed over top , mine is molded into console then dyed to match dash. I'm a bodyman so I have knowledge of plastic repair methods. All depends on the cost and quality you expect, or want. I saved my original and fabbed a junk yard one, that way if I ever sell(NOT!) I can transfer tunes to other car and keep original dash in good condition.
  11. I run one with no issues, I have found my car to be underpowered at times but no misfires. almost 1 yr now. The threads I've read have given me some insecurity to the point of carrying a stock one along just in case.
  12. cool, I wont need them I just want to know if there longer, my mind is always ticking with ideas.
  13. Sooo. are they longer or not? I'll worry about camber issues myself.
  14. I can probably get a few steering shafts if needed for cores or something, and a quick question are EA82 adjustable struts longer than EA81, can these be used in an addition to the lift?
  15. Tim if PK does this for you I'd be interested in the remaining 3" stuff. That is if you want to get rid of it.
  16. what time are you leaving? I'll be heading east on I-80 at about 4-5pm. Look for a red brat may be i can meet ya on the way somewhere for soda or something.
  17. so along the same question, can you put EA82T stuff on a EA81 long block? and what would be the wiring madness?
  18. Oh yea I scored a set of six lug wheels for you guessed it Nothing! they were all sittin on out old tire pile at the school, Chrome wagon wheel style with NO rust. Too bad only 2 out of the 4 tires were good but hey who's complaining. Not Me! Anyways what is the drill bit size needed to drill out the two opposing holes? This is just one more piece to the puzzle on my project. 3" lift kit built except for strut blocks, EA82 rear coilovers, Now with 14" 6 luggers. Still need to fab steering extension, weld up strut extenders, and somehow come up with a weber or holley carb. Anybody got one to trade for something?
  19. So Caboo are you hopin to start in Jan? or later? Thats too bad about your situation, is hondasucks going? and are you going to hang out here as long as it takes to get in or are you heading back home for a while?
  20. weight off suspension in my experience, your letting the front spring expand out again, so load off means no binding, I believe 21mm is rightfor front I forget about back.
  21. the point that some people may not realize here is that for a short period of time while he is at school he will have access to literally millions of dollars worth of equipment which he will be able to use to build this machine, he will also have the expertise of many others who have experience in these sort of fabrications. The main thing this young imaginative guy is going to need is a determination to work and work hard in every class he's in so he can learn as much as possible. Then when each aspect of this dream comes together he will be able to do it and do it right.Caboo stay focused and you'll get along ways, you may not have enough time to get everything done here, but you'll definately learn how to do all of it.
  22. well today my brat blew a heater hose halfway on my commute to work, fortunately it was only 4 in. away from the splices some one else put it for a motor swap, grabbed the multiplier tool cut and re-atteched and I was on my way or so I thought, I grabbed my jug-o-water to fill it back up, only a quart or better in there, not enough.Hmmm... I know my pop, yea seeing how I'm a pop-o-holic I usually have a liter or two floatin around the car with me, I grabbed what was left of my first one and popped the top on the one I just picked up at the store, Now I was ready to go. It was just enough to keep the ol brat from peggin the temp gauge for the twenty miles I had left on my commute. I used Diet Pepsi you suppose my car will run leaner now?
  23. well that gives me a little more piece of mind, I put on approx. 650-750 miles a week and its uphill both ways, I'm not kiddin either. I go from 6400 ft to 7200 ft with a summit crossing of 8600 ft along the way, then back home again. most of the time the little 1.8 is tapped out at 4800-5100 RPMS in third gear until I cross the summit. I'm just concerned that one day in the middle of a blizzard most likely I'm gonna grenade the motor and be left to die in the cold somewhere.
