Hey guys, what's up? I took the EA82T engine out of my 1986 5 speed manual (push button 4WD) Turbo XT and put it into an 85' push button 4WD Automaic wagon, it went in ok, but there are a few differences between the engines like the PS pumpsits differently, and the wiring harness was not long enough to reach the side of the engine (the XT's harness sits in the center back of the engine) so I extended the harness, and it reaches, and hopefully it will work. So I guess my question would be, can I just switch out the PS hoses from the rack, to the pump? Is there a way to pull just the hoses? This is about the only thing that is stopping me from going any further, well, and the 36 degree weather, too. So I would like to get this resolved asap. Oher than that, it seems to be OK. Thanks Rick

I love those seats! They are my friends, I might save them, but they seem to be in sad shape, so I am thinking they are junk, but I will make a seat shrine....just kidding. Rick

How easy is it to pull a EA82T?
TurboXT replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It's not too bad, I just switched an EA82T from an XT to a wagon, in about 2 hours, it would have gone faster if I would have had chains to start with, but I got it done. Rented a cherry picker, $18 for 4 hours, and it was well worth it. Rick -
Brat & XT6 CarbonFiber Hoods
TurboXT replied to Gravityman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I would be HIGHLY interested in getting a CF/FG hood for an XT6 as long as the price sounds decent, as I know CF is not cheap at all, but I would be just as happy with fiberglass, too. And I would be interested in provisions for a WRX or WRX Sti scoop. (most likley just a WRX scoop) Keep us updated! Thanks Rick -

Yeah, well I got a Wagon and I am putting my XT engine in it, so I'll have a car for a bit, then I am gonna go look at an XT6 today to see if I want it, and then see if he'll trade me for the wagon. I already did the convertible conversion, btw, so all I need is a cage welded onto it, and it will be cool! Next car I get is getting at least a 5 point harness on th driver's side and I might take the passenger seat out so I won't kill anyone if I crash again + I drop extra weight! And maybe a roll cage just over the seats so the roof won't cave in on my head...or maybe a full cage....whatever I have the dough for. Wish me luck! Rick -

Thanks guys! I am glad I was ok too. But I am very mad for my car is now a parts car. ARGH! Thanks for the support, and I will need your guy's help pulling parts, and I already have a lead on an XT6 that I have to check out. Rick -
Sweet, I got a liquid filled pressure gauge, just need to install it now. I will post pics when I get it put in my XT. Rick

I am not quite sure what it is, as it could be all of the above... It could be a carb problem most likley the float, sounds like fuel delivery problem to me. I would change out the fuel filter first, as that's the cheap fix. And won't go over 75 eh? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! Sorry. Rick

Cool, so you can use just a plain air pressure gauge for a boost gauge?? Cause I work with a ton of swimming pools, and we have a butt load of pressure gauges, and some of them still work. I wouldn't get the vac reading, but I'd get the boost reading. If I could use any air pressure gauge that would be awesome! Rick
