http://www.fumotovalve.com i have one of these on my wagon and it's worth the money. You will want to tickle the skid plate to use a drain hose more effectively.
-
he probably drilled them himself. (they were the hubs, not the rotors) solo, do you make motor / trans mounts as well?

my wagon has those same pugs wiith 205-60-15s as well and has never rubbed. I have the rear shocks on the highest/third notch, and used to run with RX struts and springs in front. the front was jacked way up, and on a few occasions i was asked if i'd lifted it ...not yet but thanks! the RX struts were blown though so it was probably sitting too high though. Now I have good GL struts (not adjusted up) with the RX springs and it sits much lower in front. I haven't driven it aggressively much since the change in the front, though, but no rubbing yet.

Turbo Radiator Question?
baccaruda replied to greggbrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i think he means EA82 head series. -
subaru's been having problems with their 2.5s since the early 90s... you should have a leakdown test done at an independent mechanic's shop of your choice... if the test says it's eating a head gasket, then make some noise about it , and if the test says your car's fine, then the money will be worth knowing that. good luck!

Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN

reading of this i just coughed on my you know what. at least you got home first unfortunately, if an officer witnesses evidence of something illegal no matter where or what, they usually have probable cause to search. smelling marijuana from outside of a residence, especially if one of the tenants has had legal problems due to marijuana before, is probably sufficient probable cause. my advice: hope your video goes over well at Sundance and makes it all worthwhile. good luck. -
BRAT PICS finally... plus, goodbye cuda!

mine has/had the 225 slant six with a 3 speed auto. used to get up nicely even with the one barrel carb. I had "plans" to get a Clifford dual intake setup and do a twin turbo and dual exhaust setup on a hotrod slant six. yum! -
Took some pictures of my 1966 Plymouth Barracuda before the new owner came over. Also took some pictures of my Brat since I hadn't yet. Just pretend it's washed http://groups.msn.com/USMB/baccaruda.msnw Brat is page one, Barracuda is on page two. I'll remove the Barracuda pictures in a week to save album space.

plugged catalytic converter? disconnect the downpipe from the rest of the exhaust under the car, see if it drives better opened up. -
Update on my 86RX cooling and stumbling issues
baccaruda replied to Warp3's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the top coolant hose is silicone coolant hose. you can get it in bulk by the foot from Napa and many other places. the reason it's only coming out under boost is because it's at higher RPMS. your water pump is turning at higher RPMs too and causing it to squirt. keep your coolant full until you fix it; it will make it easier to squirt out, but that's good because it it stops squirting, it means you're too low on coolant! fix that top coolant hose ASAP. You WILL need to change the coolant return hose underneath (with the foil heat reflector, the $23 hose you mentioned) ... at the same time you should do that, you should replace the oil return hose because they are both equally inconvenient to get to. You may want to pull the downpipe and turbo (and heat shields) off to get to them, as well perhaps as the passenger's side axle. I changed mine from underneath without pulling the turbo up, and it might have been easier with the turbo loosened. You might not have to disconnect the oil inlet (hard line), just don't damage it moving the turbo off the downpipe. ALSO since you have the turbo off the crossover pipe, you might replace the turbo to X-over pipe and turbo to crossover pipe gaskets, as well as the exhaust manifold gaskets that go to the crossover pipe. You might also change the other little coolant hoses on top of the block.. this is all worth a LOT of peace of mind to a turbo car owner, and not as much work as I may have made it sound. good luck! -
you're really in new subaru territory with the liquid glass fix. Some of us have heard of it before, as you saw in the older post, but you're (almost certainly) the first on the USMB to try it as a fix for shot heads. If it is allowed to run hot, that will finish killing it for sure, though. I'd suggest preventing that at all costs if you are going to keep driving it for a while. I'd lean toward telling you to add another bottle. Keep in mind that I'm giving you guesswork only, that and luck (i hope )

*repost* for a couple of months anyway. I'm moving out of my apartment-hole at the end of the month which means no more cablemodem (parting is such sweet sorrow!). I'll be taking classes from the cement masons' trade union to do just that. 6 weeks of classes directly displace my current job at pizza pipeline so I get to quit 2 months early.. puck the fipeline! anyway, i'll be disappearing in a week and a half. of course there are internet cafes and the library so i can pop in a little, but it's going to be a while before I can resume my current level of vegetation. if anyone wants my phone # it's 509-263-3853.

Need counsel of Subaru Masters...

i vote for a bad catalytic converter too. you might double check for a bad exhaust manifold gasket. check your air filter too, why not.
