  1. limited slip underwear, that's funny... I'm glad I thought of it bheinen, I don't know about making a 3.9 variant although I want to; it'll depend on minimums. I might just make a matching 90 square to go over the 70. As far as the Datsun peeps are concerned, I'm going to sell it to them too! BWB, prices are as yet unknown. Less than $50 each, though.
  2. Hi all, I've got a high-resolution recreation of our favorite sticker to spy at the junkyard; I'm going to make oversized (6"x6"?) bumper stickers and some shirts; my original intention was to make reproductions of the actual sticker on the differential because they get worn out and beaten up (go figure!). The best stock I can find on which to print them is not quite the same sort of silvery that the originals are, but these are going to look Really Close. Close enough that it occurred to me that they could be used to scam people into buying open differentials with this sticker on it. I don't see this happening widely, because most people in the market for an LSD know how to verify what they're getting, but I would feel bad if my sticker were used for that purpose. I'm going to sell them, but I'm wondering what your thoughts are on whether I should try to restrict selling them to people who can prove they have an LSD, or not? Trade in your old ratty sticker for a new one? Cause they'd look really cool on the lid of a laptop computer or a toolbox as well as a real LSD
  3. Cheap? Limited Slip? no. Stronger? try a WRX LSD or an R180 or R200.
  4. and pray that when you get married, it's to someone who'll keep you MORE honest instead of less.
  5. Sorry man. I have a front bumper if your is whacked.
  6. I have it hosted on my webspace at http://www.worldwidecm.com/HTKYSA.pdf cheers! Also, Piriform software has a good "undeleter" program called Recuva. Their "Defraggler" defragmenter and their "ccleaner" (crap cleaner) programs are good too, and all free. http://www.ccleaner.com
  7. awesome, thanks for doing the legwork on that.
  8. I was going to suggest using a section of wooden dowel for this; you could round the driving end to be bullet-shaped so it would go in smoother.
  9. This might help. http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71100
  10. Someone could probably mail you one; it'd be about $11 for USPS flat rate shipping.
  11. I'd personally grab a spindle with acceptable bearings from the junkyard and just replace that. If you happen to have new or better bearings in the car's present spindle, then you can swap them temporarily while you extract the broken bolt at a workbench instead of on your knees inside the fenderwell. I would drill through it as much as possible and then see if it can be turned out or something. Good luck!
  12. OK, seriously. Get some 1/2" by 10g or 8g sheet metal screws. Drill pilot holes if you have to. Screw the bumper cover onto the metal superstructure behind the chrome trim strip. Glue that back on with .. whatever you want to use for glue. Blam, you gottabumpa. Get paint that matches the color of the car and use it instead of black. flatten out the license plate. Then you got yerself a 10 footer.
  13. polishing a turd only gets your hands dirty. you'll be less likely to get pulled over if the bumper looks intact.
  14. I've used my scissor jack for lifting my wagon (although if I'm home I prefer my hydraulic jack).. I have a 5" thick block of wood in the smuggler's hatch to put under it since my wagon's lifted of course and have a 5" thick beam of the same stuff to put under the floor jack. It works fine for lifting the car as long as you keep the threads lubed a little and clean, and aren't trying to use it in the mud without a base. I can see how it would be decent for some bodywork applications because the screw actuation gives you a lot of fine control over the pressure applied.
  15. thanks Galen, I'll check these. Can anyone else check their paint daubs on an RX and on a non-RX?
  16. I have a set of front struts with springs from the RX I parted out this winter. I have someone interested in buying them but I would like a way to verify that they were original to the RX and not from an "ordinary" GL. Does anyone know what to look for on these? Did they use a special color of paint for the inspection marks? Do they have a part number on them? Thanks!
  17. If it's a 12mm and not a 10mm it may belong to one of the control arm/sway bar linkages or to the stut top mounts inside the engine bay. I can't think of any 10mm nuts involved in an axle change..
