  1. that sounds like my harness I just got another one Saturday. My previous harness had been moved twice and procrastinated and cut and spliced so much that I decided I didn't trust it. The one I grabbed Saturday is hardly costing me any time because I'm so much more familiar with the whole process now, and I left most of the crap at the junkyard.
  2. non-US markets got some interesting configurations... like longbed brats and EA81 platform vehicles into the 90s.. and different accessories! seats too, apparently. Are those bumper guards stock? And the curtain in the rear window?
  3. look for a sticker with a paint code or color code under the hood of your car. it will most likely be in the front/middle of the radiator support. it will be a silver rectangle. also, what year is your car? if it's the '87 you could also peruse the brochures scanned and hosted here.. go to HOME up in the top right and look through the Fun Stuff or Subarus of the 80s.
  4. how 'bout now? (did the manifold pop from boost?)
  5. this is a good read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spark_plug I was wondering if there was a wiki pertaining to the NGK opr V-power plug but wikipedia is bereft of such. I should go outside and work on my car.
  6. cause it's my birthday; other people are supposed to share with ME.
  7. good eye indeed! I work with one of the best scooter mechanics in the state and I am gearing up to get a scooter myself this year sometime.. I want to get one of the newer Bajaj Chetaks... basically a brand-new Vespa with a 4-stroke engine, and one of the only new manual transmissioned scooters available. After I finish resurrecting the wagon, after I sell the turbo coupe.
  8. Does anyone know of a source for gold plastic piping / trim stripping as seen in the bumpers and side trims for EA81T vehicles? The gold strips on my car look like they have cancer. I have a great-looking set of side trims but nothing to improve the looks of the bumpers... searched and failed...
  9. Man Was Not Meant To Fly! ..or type in all caps, apparently.
  10. I thought that Megasquirt didn't yet have a code for the EJ engines? I read something to that effect here a while ago..
  11. there's a big problem right there. You need all that stuff to match. The ECU, engine wiring & sensors, and MAF all need to be from the same general year. if it's supposed to have a hotwire MAF, get one and it will probably help a LOT.
  12. if the fluttering is in the same "spot" every time, you may also be looking at wear in the throttle body somewhere, usually in the shaft or something. Just a thought to compliate your efforts
  13. Thanks Shawn. you're saying you moved the red/brown EJ sensor over to where the thermometer should be? that's my plan. I'll look at my turbo coupe's heater hoses later.. thanks.
  14. Some came with it. If you put in an EJ series motor you can just get the 2 sets of lines adapted into one set that will let you retain the stock steering rack and use the EJ power steering setup.
  15. GL10s will have either a sway bar or bump stops on their rear arms. The rear arms are interchangeable between XT6 or GL, the hubs and brakes are specific. Chux, did you post in Wanted for some arms? I'm doing some dealing with Gloyale and if he's got you covered you're in good hands.. just don't pay extra for XT6 parts if they want to charge him thusly - GL10 will work. Gloyale - I'm mailing that turbo gasket today - thanks!
  16. you got a problem with regular EA82 trailing arms? get some with sway bar tabs, problem solved!
  17. yeah, good point.. I need to find someplace that has the proper tap and nobody open on the weekend had one so I got used to the idea of skipping it but the OPS doesn't bug me at all..
  18. awesome, thanks Dave. I wanted to do the analog dash conversion at the same time i did the rest of the wiring install but I'm dying to get the car on the road - I'm glad I put the analog conversion aside for a while.
  19. Dave.. that's awesome to know. Looks like less work for me! Do you happen to know how the stock EJ oil pressure light sender compares to the 86 digidash's sender? It would be even better if I had one less sensor to add for now... Bratman, this is in my 86.
  20. I even got some of the proper resistors but my assumption is that the resistor trick is for an analog dash while I'm running a digi for now..
  21. wewt for the box. :burnout:dry on low heat only!!!! I had the thought that both of the senders on the EJ looked to have approximately the same sized male end. With what you're saying, I don't need the Thermometer at all.. so I could move the WTS over to the Thermometer's area (you're right, it does have less area in which to comfortably drill and tap) and steal the WTS' old spot for the M16/1.5 EA gauge sender. Unless... do we know how the EJ Thermometer compares electrically to the EA digidash's sender?? That would be neat if I could cheat a little there...
