  1. thanks, but i know about it... i'm going to make my own adapter. my wagon has an RX D/R trans and I'm keeping it! I'm also putting in a remanufactured XT steering rack.
  2. that's exactly what it was doing. we'll take care of this tomorrow.. (sunday)
  3. wow. yes please. junkie brian beats monstaru brian this time. hehe. look at the ground clearance on that volvo! that's got to be at least 14 inches...
  4. that looks sharp... what do you think about paining the headlight trim black too?
  5. "extra" bolts left over are a sign of a discriminating mechanic who knows which parts can be safely removed to result in a lighter and more efficient car. now if you'll excuse me, i have to go figure out where all the rattling noises in my brat are coming from.
  6. but it's got solid axles... look at the ground clearance.. i'll take the wheels though!
  7. hehheh.. just the engine, it's suffering anyway, might as well put it out of my misery... and i don't have any cats to melt to seal the exhaust maybe i'll completely disable the wastegate too, so it'll make for a really good show. wonder why nobody's signed up yet...
  8. yeah, i'd never do something like that to someone..
  9. heh.. i've seen that video, it's why i want to see ken drive his..
  10. tell you what, if enough people here sign up to give me ten bucks each, i'll go drive my turbowagon in first gear on the freeway and tell you how far i get... with pictures even! Sign up below...
  11. thanks Ken, I forgot about trimming the sides. I'll admit I've wondered about the stiffness of the 20mm bar on a lightweight Brat.. maybe I'll sell the 20mm bar and get a GL10 bar... I would rather put in EA82 rear control arms though as i don't have a welder.. does anyone know how much the bar needs to be bent?
  12. I'd like to see Ken cram his 6' tall self into that little thing, I'd make the drive over the pass to see it!
  13. I generally feel better about napa's components than i do about those at schucks (for instance) but maybe their marketing department has just got my number Napa's still a better asset because the counter people are generally more knowledgeable, so like Scoobywagon says, ask the counterman. Plus I get a Friend Of the Counterman discount at one of the Napas around here
  14. from what i understand the rear one either requires special brackets, or swapped in EA82 control arms (w/ brackets) which in turn requires bending the rear bar a little. I just grabbed the rear control arms and sway bar (20mm!) from an XT6 i was cleaning out, for my brat..
  15. my FT4WD has dual range too, and my pimp interior is new XT6 seats
  16. it's blue with a red interior? post pics please (or drive it to brian's on sunday)
  17. is this the one at pull n save? they don't sell whole cars
  18. it would be easy to make some sort of rear strut tower bar for the wagon; i've thought about using the spots where the rear seat latches screw to the rear fenderwells... probably have to trim some plastic...
  19. going to see if changing the wagon's timing belts holds a miracle cure for bad compression
  20. that does it, if i decide to leave the country because of Current Political Events, I'm going to Australia.
  21. thanks, but I just got the XT6 stuff today at the JY. aaaaaaaaaand found out that the legacy's owner is selling it to his cousin DESPITE the deal he and I made. All I have to say now is %#$&*#!!!!!!!!!!!! it has 103k miles and good tires so I had the rest of my 5 lug conversion lined up too... AAAARGGGHH
  22. here's a couple of mine. If you need detail shots, PM monstaru; my wagon and camera are at his place. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19852&p=159700
  23. thanks austin! are you 21 yet or do i have to give patrick your beer? i'm actually keeping my RX transmission in the wagon and I have an opportunity to score some XT6 suspension parts, so I want to do the 5 lug conversion too.
  24. thanks... so I could grab all the engine bay wiring and then go to the JY and get an ECU and ECU harness from a 5 speed car? I'd be OK with that if so.. ************************************************* heh. get your own beer!
