  1. you might consider trying to get a deal on that brat.
  2. My turbowagon has 205-85-15s on peugeot alloys, normal suspension in the front, probably close to a 2" gain in the rear. the front used to sit 2" higher but those struts were blown, replaced them with good GL struts on RX springs. The trans is an RX dual with LSD and 20mm rear sway bar, 20mm front sway bar and RX strut rods. It handles great and I plan to get a 3" lift for it as I don't believe the handling will suffer too much with the sway bars. that's based on how i feel about the way the car drives and based on what i've heard about other lifted turbos.
  3. that's really nice... i think the seat is a little of a sleeper-spoiler though.. but maybe necessary with that much juice under the hood?
  4. here's mine... I have 2" straight down from the turbo, then 2.5 grafted on (you can see the seam in this picture) with no cats and a straight thru muffler. the graft is a little ugly as the DP was sort of a "whatcha got?" job. sounds nice and angry though
  5. Pull N Save has an 85 "Pimp Wagon" with the red interior. windshield is gone so seats were wet, passenger seat has a cigarette burn 1cm x 3cm. driver's front door panel is in the back with a bunch of crap, condition unknown. It is not possible for me to grab this stuff for anyone, sorry. But it's there. Also saw a sunroof wind deflector on a turbowagon.
  6. pop the hood next time you do a cold start and see if you can spot where any exhaust is escaping.
  7. i like the trick about the brake booster line. should describe on the can. watch out for the smoke though, hehe
  8. heh. paul's going to see this and cry. or sell everything he has to buy it and ship it here
  9. probably a big difference.. but not necessarily a good one good luck though
  10. maybe it's the 4am talking but i think you should track it down and tow it to your place, or maybe just torch it. ...joking. if the new owner has to deal with the previous owner yet, then that is your chance. intercept her and tell her you have retained a lawyer, or some guy who can bench press a volkswagen, to facilitate the restoration of your potential property. tell them it has bad compression in all 7 cylinders and needs to have the septo-phasic distributor balancer refurbished or else the gyroscopic brake retainer will spontaneously implode. dirty pool justifies dirty pool. go get your subaru back! preferably the same way it was taken, in the middle of the night
  11. looks good as usual. your wife must be getting pretty good at helping you install lift kits!
  12. yes http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17327 lots more information, just use the friendly painless search feature it's been discussed many a time.
  13. Do it!!! the wiring will be the hardest part...
  14. rubberized undercoating will not do anything about existing rust though while POR15 will prevent it from spreading. it's a worthwhile investment...
  15. "picturey goodness" is the exclusive registered trademark of Andrew Mikelson's Worldwide Consolidated Mischief, Inc. Any unauthorized use is a violation of international copyright and intellectual property laws and will result in the immediate forfeiture of any and all Subarus used in conjunction with the phrase. Our representative will contact you shortly to arrange the repossesion of said Subaru(s). Make sure the tank is full first. i was searching for my wagon for sale thread using that term and was surprised to see two results pop up.. just having a little fun.
  16. it means don't drive it in 4WD on DRY pavement. variable traction situations such as gravel on the road, lots of rain, or of course ice are good opportunities to go 4WDing - I mean, good common sense safety situations for 4WD
  17. i think the battery is the best place to start too. it may just be low on water (distilled only of course for those who don't know).. good luck corky!
  18. my $0.02: the search function doesn't accept three letter words. with all of theacronyms floating around this place, that is crippling in some respects. there are ways to get rid of common words like THE and AND and OR without ruling out TPS, MAF, TOB, ECU, you get the picture. also, there are a few different spots on the board for technical information. there are the older links from older incarnations of the board as well as the USMB. I know you are wary of over-organizing the board, Brian, but I think that the technical information could be made easier to find.
  19. hm, Pat, can i get in on this too? for my 83 Brat, that is. I would prefer the largest images possible.. and I could recieve them at [email removed] if you would be willing.. i'm in no rush...
