1987 RX Turbo at the drags last night
Myxalplyx replied to BoostedBalls's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I forgot all about this device and totally fell off the scene. Time to get back into the swing of things. *Looking on Ebay after this post* *Edit* Just found a bunch of pressure switched on Ebay but none like the one pictured above. Any suggestions? -
RX takes another beating at the drags...
Myxalplyx replied to BoostedBalls's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Boosted, I never congratulated you on your time. Congrats! Nice times! I wonder who'll be the first into the 13's on here? -
Throttle Body Fuel Injection
Myxalplyx replied to Myxalplyx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You need to start selling this for us dumb people (like me). -
I absolutely agree with you on the rubber vacuum lines part. I can't stand them. My Subaru XT6s engine bays are much cleaner than my RXs. As for the BOV, I just have mine vented to the atmosphere. It's welded onto an intercooler. The pic below was before I finished getting the intercooler in right and having all the vacuum hoses properly hooked up.

You can gain up to 20hp if you modify your intake, exhaust and advance your ignition.

Crankshaft Pully MADNESS!! 87 EA82T
Myxalplyx replied to NuclearBacon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Why not try a Garner pulley? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26139&page=2&pp=10&highlight=garner+pulley I took the pics down but the weight information is still there. -
I got this quote from another thread: Is it possible to put the throttle body of a single fuel injected car on a fuel injected turbo model and then use the extra injector as extra fuel? I understand the intake manifold and heads being different but maybe the throttle body can possibly be fitted. Just a thought!

Drags - 14.5 sec **video clip posted**
Myxalplyx replied to mattyg41383's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Wow! Excellent! EXCELLENT! What are your mods again besides the extra injector? And change your sig. -
On another note, do not try to remove that 'panel' or dash if that is what you are referring too. If you want to know how so that you can remove the trip computer or radio, that's for another thread. Many an audio installer or unknowing self mechanic has tried to remove the dash, only to break it or crack it severely. You have been warned.

New house, New Wheels, couple of new pics
Myxalplyx replied to calebz's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
BEFORE: AFTER: It's amazing how a simple change of your wheels can totally transform the way your car look. Nice job! Or course lowering it and adding the front spoiler helped as well. -
I don't need no stinking TWE header!!!!

Yeah! What's going on with the uppipe? :-\ -
Some picky people here. Some people are never satisfied. The latest issue has an old school Subaru brat picture of it rallying on the very first page you turn to. You aren't going to see that in any other magazines (or very few). There's a pic of a brat on the 1st page you turn to, a brat and an old school wagon with all 4 wheels in the air on page 18, an advertisement with a brat opposite to an STi on page 70, etc. It brings attention to the older Subarus. Ah nevermind, I'm happy to even be reading a Subaru magazine period. Everyone can learn something from the mags. Besides, lets not forget their rally project they are doing on the 70's Subaru. No need to subscribe. Just purchase the issue you are interested in.

The RX, before, during, and after.
Myxalplyx replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nice repair work and great job. I'm glad to see you got this car back together and I'm looking forward to reading and seeing what you do with it in the future. Will be looking forward to some new numbers from you as well. Good luck dude! -
Does anyone know how much it would be to import that car into the states? What paperwork would be involved?
-
Just looked at the video of the car accelerating from a dead stop. If the mph gauge is in Kilometers per hour, it took him 4 seconds to get to 60mph. Interesting!
-
This IS awesome. I am looking at that site and downloading the video. I want THAT car. I need to contact that dude.

EA82T Injector Impedance? High or Low?
Myxalplyx replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
They are Peak and Hold 2.5s. Here is an old data sheet I posted up of my RX turbo injectors being cleaned at RC Engineering. On another unrelated note, you said you have (or will be using) an SAFC. I've asked a question many times to folks who have used the SAFC on older Subarus but never got a reply. My questions are: 1) What is your Sensor Number set at on your SAFC?, 2) What is your Sensor Calc set at on your SAFC? Please answer those if you can so I won't be frustrated for another year. Thanks! -
Just getting back on the board again after I keep sitting out for a bit. Gravityman, that is a beautiful setup. I really applaud your efforts and ingenuity. Some peeps here will call it a simple setup and anyone can do it (maybe even you) but I haven't seen one of these made up and shared with a group of people. This blows my mind! I'm glad you are having fun doing it also. Maybe an extra fuel injector is not needed. Maybe all we need to do is replace the fuel injectors we have with ones that flow a little more and throttle back on fuel pressure. My RRFPR is set at 60psi and the car runs fine for daily driving. No issues! I'm sure I could probably get away with larger fuel injectors at a lower fuel pressure. Those Nissan injectors are looking tempting, especially if they fit directly. Bypassing the fuel cut and getting more fuel is my only setbacks now.

You have a good wife. The only book my wife would get me is a yellow page directory of scrap yards to rid of my Subarus. -
Got my techworks parts ceramic coated!!
Myxalplyx replied to tizzle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Has anyone else gotten this done? Can turbos be ceramic coated? If so, maybe it could help some of you with the stock turbo setup. It's not nice to #3 cylinder you know.
