$106 dollars for me, not counting shipping. Speaking of RC Engineering, what did your injectors flow at on an average before and after cleaning?
-
Here's the data sheet. Enjoy! BTW: Here's something I thought that was interesting. I had the fuel injectors numbers from 1-4. They were numbered according the the cylinder they were spraying into. Cylinders #1 and #3 (which are closest to the turbo, especially #3) faired worse than fuel injectors #2 and #4. Even after cleaning they both were worse than the driver's side fuel injectors. They two good and two 'bad' fuel injectors were pretty much consistant with each other whether they were bad or good. What do you think about this?
-
Well dang! I never even thought about this. I'm not sure if it was even mentioned in some of the past posts. In this case, we DO have 185cc fuel injectors because the test pressure on my data sheet is 43psi. Now I look like a fool. I'm a disgrace to the board and I'll never return again. Just kidding! I'll go about posting up the sheet in a bit. I need to scan it. On another note: There is a standard pressure that injectors are tested at despite what they may flow at a higher or lower fuel pressure. What is this standard?

Hello all, I just got my fuel injectors back for my RX Turbo. For those that don't know, I own a 1988 1.8ltr Subaru RX Turbo (See sig). I sent my fuel injectors to RC Engineering Tuesday via Fedex overnight to have them cleaned. I had them overnighted back to me (I hate waiting) and just picked them up. I need to keep this brief but I'll be back with pics later after picking my wife and kid up. The truth is, the RX injectors do not flow 180cc, 185cc or 190cc like what was previously believed or told. The RX turbo injectors flow an average of 245cc/min. I have two that flowed 246.0cc, one 243.0cc and one 244.0cc after cleaning. I'll post up my before and after cleaning flow sheet as well as before and after cleaning pics. Right now, I need to drive up to the dealership to drop them off to be installed. BTW: The RC Sheet shows....... Injector Type: P&H 2.5 Injector make: JECS RC# PJ2H-245 Part# A46-000970 8217B If this is misinformation, I apologize. These injectors could very well be aftermarket fuel injectors if the stock RX turbo does come from the factory with 185cc fuel injectors. I do not know. This is what I got though. RC Engineering do not carry any injector upgrade for JECS made injectors for Subaru. I just called them before typing my last sentence. So there you have it. Proof will be shown in the pics I post up later. Comments, suggestions, flames are welcome. I'm just excited that I finally know what the truth is. I hate not knowing. Laters!

Aftermarket Fuel pump? PSI GPH
Myxalplyx replied to madkow007's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Anyone else see how to install this fuel pump on their RX/XT turbo? I have one of these on one of my XT6s but can't remember what the shop did to get it installed. It's been a while. I'm considering getting one of these in the future (like when my hair turns gray). I'm going to need a nice flowing fuel pump if things go my way. -
Here's a pic of my wallpaper. It's a mitsu that recently caught on fire at a dragstrip event after using nitrous.

You should be asking what does 'WJM' stand for? That's some X files ish for ya. WRC = World Rally Championship

Oh yeah! I forgot to add that you have a nice looking intercooler setup. What have you done to keep the rear part of the intercooler held steady/support? -
Will, Did you take the dyno run pics down already? Dang, I'm trying to reread, re-compare, re-note some info about your runs and they aren't coming up. Just trying to be sure it's not my internet connection.

Don't sweat the hot air too much. The hot air really takes it's toll during idle. While moving, it won't be much of a factor if any at all. I tested this out on one of my XT6s at the dragstrip. Running an open air cone style air filter netted a 3-4mph gain in my trap speed vs using a stock air filter setup. The open air cone style filter still had a 1-2 mph gain in trap speed over a stock intake setup with no air filter and ducting going out to the front foglight. Off throttle response 'felt' a tad slower but pickup and top end with the cone style filter was noticable. And this says a lot since these XT6 engine bays get HOT. As for an RX, I noticed a 6ft gain in torque in the midrange through dyno testing. This wasn't tested with a closed hood. However, I did remember reading a SCC (Sport Compact Car) article at one time that had a car lose hp/torque due to the cone air filter sucking in hot engine bay air. The fan that came on was blowing hot air directly on the air filter. I just haven't experienced this with a Subaru. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27996&page=1&highlight=dyno -
A pot of gold is just about how much money I'd need to fix the rust on my RX.

Dave of ProECM has a turbocharged XT6. Little is known about it. I posted some pics of the setup at XT6.net but it was incomplete. Dave stated the car was able to handle 14psi or so without an intercooler before problems started. I do not know the current status of the car but I've been bugging him for the setup for over a year. Paul Singer has a supercharged XT6 that has been being built up for god knows how long. It's still not finished. Last I remembered, it had issues with hood clearance for the supercharger. It had been engine dyno'd with 80 more hp than stock (around 230ish). No word on where it stands as of late besides the hood clearance issues. I've been trying to get someone to help me turbocharge my XT6 practically since I've owned it. Had it at Rallispec and my $$$$ went out the window before the project got started. Recently had 'Nightrider' at a shop called FSM (First State Motorsports) from January up until about 2 weeks ago. The guys never got started on the project. They kept putting it on the backburner to do never ending Honda projects. I was hoping to surprise a lot of people here by having it turbocharged and busting out some good 1/4 mile times and dyno power. Oh well! Yes, it is turboable. Even Subaru engineers spoke about it in an old article I posted up. I'm to lazy to look for it now, maybe later. If you pursue this route, good luck. I'm just settling for nitrous for now.

Bright Yellow Xt Spotted

Is Len considering getting rid of it someday for 2 basket cases? -
This is precisely the reason why I wanted the kit. I know it's home grown and such but if I were to get it, I wanted to get everything could to make a full installation of parts (by a shop). Time seems to be getting shorter and shorter on my end and since I'm going to be going back to school next month, car time will be next to nothing. I was hoping badly to be able to purchase this from someone directly with it already installed and running and go from there. I don't even own a Justy.

Good to see you are still at it Will and with air/fuel ratio info this time as well. I'd be quaking in my boots with an air/fuel ratio like your 15psi run. Thank for showing that info. I know what I won't be trying to do. Your stock air/fuel ratio mirrors my last dyno run air/fuel ratio exactly. Interesting!

Myxalplyx replied to gunslinger's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Gunslinger, Don't ask! All you'll get is ridiculed. Purchase one, dyno or 1/4 mile it to get figured. THEN get ready for the ridicule. It's been tested by Sport Compact Car and installed by the manufacturer. No gain at all! -
Finally Got the Brat to the Dyno!!!
Myxalplyx replied to garner's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I hope when someone cracks the 160whp figure on the dyno with an RX turbo that people won't get offended if it's done with a wet nitrous kit. *cough* -

Important TWE header information
Myxalplyx replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hrrmm, I guess I better look at my hoses then. Actually, I had to make new hose connections going to the turbo but coming from the turbo is somewhat stock. It's half stock and half old hoses. -
Hey Rick, Be sure to post up your dyno charts for us all to look at as well. If you can get an air/fuel ratio graph, that'd be awesome. Welcome to the club.

Fuel Cut Bandaid for the masses (87+ EA82T)
Myxalplyx replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Is there anyone else who has put this devise on since it's been mentioned here? I have yet to put mine on but will soon enough. All that's left is to install the Stage II clutch that WJM mentioned to me in a PM a while back, get the injectors cleaned and install/run a 50-60hp shot of Nitrous Express wet nitrous kit. That should be good for some low 13 second runs. -
Me was looking for dyno posts and saw this today. As far as the choppy lines go, get yourself a RRFPR and raise the pressure. If choppiness is due to lean air/fuel ratio, it'll be less choppy with higher fuel pressure. Also, get your fuel injectors cleaned. I need to get on the ball with this but I am busy tooling around like a fool with one of the XT6s.

1989 XT6 AWD - Aftermarket wheels
Myxalplyx replied to hav0c's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What offset are these wheels? -
Dave, How does one go about getting these things? I do not know what a 'plenum riser block' is. Also, can you send a modified oil pan so the whole installation can be a breeze? Is there ANYTHING else a Justy owner may have to be aware of before installing this kit? Like it only fits a manual tranny or automatic, it will not work unless you do this and/or that, etc. Is there anyone on this board selling a Justy at the moment (this isn't directed at you Dave)? Thanks!
