  1. I was wondering about how the axles would work out. Preferably I do not want any sort of hybrid axle. Everything I do to this car has to be replaceable with off the shelf parts.
  2. That's what transmission I have right now, fyi the low range is disappointing compared to the standard dual range. But I'm still using the same driveline no need to modify it to fit at least.
  3. Not entirely sure on terminology but they are "stack" fit.? I've found several people that have replaced them with u joints with the inside clips but technically speaking they aren't serviceable
  4. Awesome thanks. Little good news little bad news, turns out it wasn't my transmission making noise it was the u joint behind it. Figured this out when it finally snapped and the driveline started making a mess of things. Easy enough fix but apparently Subaru doesn't have serviceable u joints...
  5. I'm in the Seattle area and my trans is making some death growls so I need an immediate fix no time to rebuild. The main reason I'm asking is because theres not a very good list of gl's at the pnp's so if I have to go newer o want to know what I need to make it work. Been searching online for info but without much luck.
  6. I have a lifted 88 wagon with a 2.5 swap in it and currently have an AWD dual range transmission for an 87 rx i think. On my way to the seattle area my transmission begin making some death growls and i need a replacement and want to know what parts would be needed to retro a newer transmission into my car if thats the only option.
  7. ya full time, thats a pretty neat conversion. Still trying to find those O rings if anyone happens to know anything please help!
  8. its the best tear down ive found so far and i figure the torque specs and stuff should be similar enough. So far ive sourced all the seals except the two o rings on the front. the large one that you can see above and a smaller one which im assuming is on that shaft you mentioned because its not listed above. as far as swapping gears i think im going to hold off for now and just reseal this trans. later on i think ill give a shot a making a hybrid trans. If anyone has any info/ part number for the orings please let me know. These two orings are the only things holing me up from getting my car back together haha
  9. I have this hear and a bunch of stuff for torque specs gear ratios et. Kind of hard to make out, like i said first time doing this and im really excited to figure out how this actually works. Which gears exactly change for low range? ive been playing with it and i think i figured out how the gears 1 through 5 work but the low range and diff lock thing dont quite make sense yet. Also its from a turbo rx so it already has the larger stubs. Thanks
  10. hey all, first time rebuilding a manual transmission and am a bit nervous about getting it back together. all the gears and bearings look perfect (low mileage trans) so basically just resealing it. However I would like to swap in the 1.59 low range set from a gl d/r but im not sure which parts I need. Been searching for rebuild procedure but haven't found anything. Mostly i need the torque specs/ sequence for the case bolts and any other tips you guys could chime in about putting it together would be great. Thanks!
  11. 10 years? Thats the kind of information I am interested in. As you stated people move on and stop using the forums so finding this information is very difficult. Tons of threads of people getting or modifying things but the thread dies before you find out how the mod worked out especially long term function. Not everyone is diligent about updating information. To date the only negative comments about Delta was a few (very minor) issues in communication or shipping but that can happen with any company. Nothing negative about their product itself which is a very good sign. I know they have been used a long time and Im not trying to bring up a dead subject I just don't like basing my decisions on popularity. Your right it is an assumption either way, Im most likely going to do it but I will be suspicious for at least a little while after I have my engine running again. What Im particularly nervous about is this is my first full engine rebuild so i just want to get all my facts straight instead of slapping it together and hoping it works. Thank you
  12. i don't need to google search i have research this topic for over a year, my issue isn't how many people have used them. Although the mass amount of people using them would be a good indicator of quality, I don't like to make assumptions. Most people post about getting them or putting them in various applications however I cant seem to find anyone saying they've had them for any extended period of time which is what Im most concerned with, longevity of these cams.
  13. SOHC NA EJ25 2001 forester. Looking to get some camshafts for it and have been considering delta 1500 regrinds however I have some concerns about my camshafts being welded on. Two questions: Has anyone had any troubles with going this route? Cam failure? Im interested in hearing from people who have had them on for a while. Second question is there any other options for cams besides regrinds?
  14. i think i just cut it to fit the tray in and jb welded it in place to the adapter
  15. Ya i think i stole it out of a early 90's legacy. I have another cd player adapter if your looking to get one
