  1. It really only gets bad to worse when they end up pulling from multiple warehouses. Got to watch each item as you add, it'll say A, B or C warehouse.
  2. I have used it there. I do believe that it has minimized the leaking. I've used it on a couple of other things also and haven't seen any leaks. I say give it a try can't hurt.
  3. These are the statements that make me want to the PNW.... Just don't have the inventory here in the Midwest Flat hole for items like this to show up, only on the very rare occasion. Of course with any luck I'll be bringing home a $500 Outback tomorrow as long as the stars line up in my favor.(or RATHER my brother-in-laws)
  4. That doesn't sound good at all, hard to say exactly what else is Fdd up in the motor. You are going to have a lot of $$ wrapped up in another block and ect. I would say go with a 2.2.
  5. I believe this to be what happened, seems like the best way things could have happened for the situation.
  6. I think this is a wonderful idea http -stewartkb. It would be wonderful to add some for the Brat also, don't know how possible this is though. Rear wagon spoiler....I've always loved those also, +1 here.
  7. Seems to shift fine now, not really any different then before, maybe slightly better if anything. THANK GOD!
  8. Well I think I might have lucked out. Had to put in nearly 6qts. From what I can research it holds around 10qts with torque converter and all. There must be somewhat of a safety check in the transmission for when it gets so low, car wouldn't move at all.
  9. 99 Forester Automatic Apparently when I plugged the tranny cooler lines back in I didn't get one hose clamp down tight enough, it was one of the original Subaru types with the screw and washer deal, or I just forgot to tighten . Car stopped moving on exit ramp.... There is still a tad bit of fluid showing on dipstick though. If I dump fluid back in like it should be what do you think the probabilities are that things will still be functional? Any other additives that you would suggest supplementing with, LUCAS or other wise? Thoughts?? Thanks in advance for any input.
  10. +1 try a new cap, and make sure the hose clamps are tight on all the radiator hoses, if one is loose that could suck air into the system possibly if the conditions are just right.
  11. Nice touch with a bed full of skeletons!! Much better than a closet full!!
  12. Sounds like one of the stupid many springs isn't hooked up right. When I tore into the 99 Forester earlier this year, it drove me insane with the stupid springs, had to cross reference with the opposite side to make sure I was doing it right, along with pictures from the Internet.
  13. The tranny on this only has approx 40K. So if I transplant into this 2000 Outback am I going to be in for a bunch of little things and or regular maintenance down the road 50K? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/149887-2000-outback-bad-transmission-pump/?do=findComment&comment=1256783
  14. Here's the brief history of the car. I helped my niece find/go get it. Drove 6hrs one way to pick it up. It has just over 200k on the motor, probably 40k on the transmission. HGs were done about 2k ago, before we got it. (Done right I might add). She had been driving it almost 4 weeks. There weren't to many other issues with it, a couple, but not major. So it really pains me that we're back to square one almost with her transportation, her family hasn't had the best of luck with vehicles. Anyway, the car will be @ their house, so I can go pull and check things any time.
  15. I'm seriously thinking about trying to pull it. Just to have a spare if nothing else.
  16. We don't have what you do up there, probably really only 3 months that are really heavy with the salt.
  17. Okay, I stand myself corrected it came to rest on the passenger side and not on the roof, not sure about it stalling out upon this action.
  18. Being the car ended up on the roof, not sure how long it was like this, it was a side impact that did it. My question is, is the engine going to compromised in any bad way?
  19. +1 for giving the seals a work over, I haven't seen any seal kits available either, haven't really looked though. If you have the means or ability to fix the body parts, do it, it's worth it, these cars are a blast and they are really hardy. Yes your drive train should be good as gold from the sounds of it. As far as seats that will bolt in directly, good luck with that, I got a set from a WRX and I ended up redoing the mounting points completely.
