  1. So you're leaving the lighting Industry. Oh well, best of luck on your new adventures Brian.
  2. I bought this 91 Loyale wagon over a year ago TRYING to get the time to do the head gaskets on the motor. My question is with the timing belt covers, they are warped not drastically that being said I don't believe that they would match up if I were to put them back on which I won't be doing anyway. How does, or can one tell how damaged the lower end is without tearing it completely down? I believe I have most of the parts to do the job, I just need to get the heads surfaced (after much consideration I've decieded that this is one thing not on my DIY list ) I can add some pics of the covers later here to see what you think, I am just not sure I want to put more time and money into something that might fail down the road. The PO did tell me it was smoking pretty bad when it was parked and when I drained the oil, it did tell the story of white milk shake. I have spied two other Subaru engines on Craigslist that sound like to be a good fit in my area, very tempted to go grab em up but I don't have much space to put them at this time. One is a 2.2 rebuilt with manual and the other is a EA82 I am guessing. I am very skeptical of buying fresh rebuilt stuff as this guy has stated. See below. http://wichita.craigslist.org/pts/4394836243.html
  3. Yes this is in the Brat. Also seems like the bulbs I have aren't very bright, went with ones off eBay cause they were cheep...STUPID MOVE, for this application.
  4. Don't I wish I were closer to you guys. Wish my neck o the woods included this area.
  5. Hope you didn't throw that center dash out, that is a site better shape then mine.
  6. I've got the parts to do this just need the time.
  7. What kind of car/wagon are you working on? Thermostat, was it a Subaru stat?
  8. Anybody ever heard of or wiped the boots off to prevent extra wear, makes sense though, I have not done this.
  9. This looks sharp, good job with the buffing of the scratches. I am sure you'll keep us posted on how your barrier idea comes out. Not absolutely scratch-free-perfect, but it is 1000 times better than before. While I had it all disassembled I of course cleaned everything I could reach; I really wish there was some sort of seal between the transparency and the cluster to keep future dust out of it. I may add one of my own.
  10. Re-torqued my pan bolts, good thing cause they were all loose. While underneath was wiping stuff down due to all the oil here and there...then I noticed the blown inner CV boot on the drivers side...ugh just had both sides replaced back in September...boom I figured I should replace my first boot. Took me almost 3 hours, I figure not too bad on my first go around. And the caliper bolts were soooooo fringing tight...doesn't make me real happy my go to shop would make them so tight. Oh well everything else seemed like it should be. I guess I'll be doing my own from now on, especially at $3-4 Benjamin's at the shop.
  11. I just put a Doorman on my Brat, purchased from Autozone. We'll see how long it lasts.
  12. Welcome to the forum, nice to see another in the Midwest
  13. I don't remember now, I've changed the bulbs to red so the actual color is not real evident. But I don't think so.
