To much like the K car. It is a very unique Subie though. Not my preference.

Resealed my oil pump, that was another PITA. Pump didn't want to just slide out much less slide back in, and that was with loosening the bolt closest to the pump on the block. Couldn't get the pressure sender off either, last one to have worked on it put RTV on the threads I'm guessing that is why it wouldn't come off. They also did a POS job of putting the pump together and on the block, both small o-rings were not placed right so they were oblong, go figure it was leaking like a sieve.

I hate that too when they don't disclose what is actually the case, idiots...

Yeah that totally wouldn't fly for me. I'd be living in them for sure! Specially since I've got one non running Sub, and an IH Binder that isn't running either. Ge John maybe you need another LOL, oh yeah don't want to get you kicked out of your home either -

05 forester front seats into an 85 gl wagon
Dinky26 replied to shoebee2's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Haven't done exactly what you are proposing. What I have done is, take the seats out of my 86 GL Brat, and replace them with STI seats from a 02 WRX. Yes you'll definitely have readjust / replace the rails with the original ones from your Gl. Just going to depend on which way is the most convenient / best way to get the task accomplished. It'll be a challenge if it's anything like my conversion. Better ideas: I've often contemplated (after the fact) if I should have had the original seats recovered and reupholstered. My implanted seats are very comfortable, only thing is that it sits me slightly higher, somewhat close to the ceiling when you are 6'5" 220# like me, you occasionally hit your head, not a deal breaker just slightly annoying. I'm not sure about the length and height difference in my fit either. Certainly more form and support in the seat. So, you said that your new proposed seats 2" taller and 3" longer, your fitment will depend on your size and ect. Kind of comes down to trial and error too, IMHO. Advice: make sure to get your mounting brackets set appropriately before welding them on, that was my hardest task. Good luck with your restore and upgrades you choose to do. I'm glad you are keeping your dad's favorite vehicle to do this to as well. Keep us updated on your progress. -

This one needs a good home. And it's not half way across the country from you. http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/4324590917.html -

Sounds like you should be good going in your GL. Personally that would be the way I would choose if it were me . -

I'm 6'5" 220#, could use more room but it is workable. -

The Outback is a great option too. Not sure about any others. Subaru has been doing AWD longer then any other maker.

Autozone be your problem there, sometimes they just can't get it right. Even though I frequent them a lot, they very close to me, thus I generally know what I need before I get there.
