  1. Very VERY nice Brat, awesome deal, I so want to get the seats in the back of mine. What is the distance between outer edges of the seats? Just wondering if I have enough room under my roll bar.
  2. I am all about recylcing whatever possible. I hate it when people throw perfectly, or near perfect stuff away. My Weber will be in town on Monday, so if you'd be willing to give me $60 I'll ship it to you, once I get my Weber up and going.
  3. So sidekickin, what did you end up doing with your carb on this issue? Did you go ahead and replace it with a Weber? Any idea how many miles you had on that carb? Just wondering cause mine is starting to have starting issues, but once I get it running it is fine. I am just concerned with the throtle bushing detail you explained on yours, having mine do the same thing 5000 miles down the road after I rebuild this Hitachi.
  4. My 86 Brat with an EA81 & a Hitachi carb has decided to change in its way of starting. When I got it at the end of December 2012, it would fire right off after I primed it once. It the past 2 weeks it has changed to needing the accelerator depressed all the way to the floor while cranking the starter, I let off the starter and it will fire off and will stay running with a little feathering of the accelerator. Last night I dumped a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank, didn't change much only now it idles a little more roughly. Any ideas?, or questions? Is it just telling me I should put a Weber on??
  5. Looks awesome, like was said before needs to have more power to sell well. I would eliminate one set of wheels if it had a decent towing capacity. I would most certainly buy one though.
  6. What year and model are you working on?
  7. Awesome! Thanks guys this will make my life hugely easier!!!! Once I get to that point, haven't done much since I pulled her apart other than work, move snow, eat and sleep.
  8. Fixed my problem too, both bulbs burned out at the same time , would not have thought they would go at the same time Should have guessed that might be the case though
  9. Nice ride! I do miss my Outback:( See it every so often though.
  10. Almost sounds like it could be a battery deal. How old is your battery?, sometimes a battery will die even when new off the shelf. Batteries do wierd things, just saying, and also your connections to the battery are they good? Okay..never mind..it would not crank if the battery were dead. Sure does sound like something is not getting the power it should. What year and model do you have? I see what you have now. 98 Outback, cool. I had a 96 loved it to death, then I donated it Have you checked the ignition module?, not sure how one checks it though.
  11. Yeah, I hear you all there....the Wife jade forbidden me to get another single project until I get the Loyale & Int Binder going....ugh, prolly better that way anyway.
  12. To bad so many people suck, makes me want to slam the door shut on their tongue or what ever & then take off at about 15mph & see how long they can keep up.
  13. Thanks Guys, for clearing that up, good to know the intermittent popping I am hearing is just prolly from that.
  14. Well, I guess that if my BRAT quits running I will check this wire first.
  15. Wierd that it would do that. ....at least from what everybody else is saying. The stereo does seem to make intermitent poping sounds, at first I thought it was just the CD skipping, then I plugged in my USB drive and it still does it on occasion too. But I am not sure about actual radio responses since I don't listen to that part of stereo much.
  16. And upon doing this you don't get a bunch of noise through the radio??
  17. Me personally, I would not want to go to a place such as this. #1....I typically take longer to do a task on the car (I am just slower, IE don't do it every day so I am not versed at it, & I am dyslexic so I try to take things slower so that I don't screw something up) #2....Ref back to #1 I would feel rushed in a situation where I was paying per hr for the space. #3....I have my own space (Thank YOU God, my Grandma, Grandpa, & Dad for making it possible ) #4....I would be just as well taking it to a shop if I did screw something up in a rush. I just can't imagine the overhead that would be present for an owner with a shop like this though. Not to mention the liability like has been stated before here
  18. The pump seal kits are pretty minimal cost, compared to the pump $10-$15.Shawn at retroroo.com is probably going to be about as reasonable as anywhere.I have a feeling that if it wasn't for Shawn this forum would NOT be what it is, what better place to support then a place that makes this forum GO!!!For example he is shipping me a water pump for the EA82 for $37 + shipping, right in line with RockAuto actually a little cheaper, it is one of the Japan made ones.
  19. May because the OEM filters are made by FRAM, which IMO is garbage, I will not put a FRAM filter on any of my vehicles and thus now OEM either Refer to this threadhttp://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/136235-fram-subaru-oil-filter-recall/?hl=fram
  20. I just had the same problem tonight, only it seems as though both high beams are good with no low beams at all.
  21. Oh, so being the wire on the one end looks like it is going to break off, could cause the radio to cut in and out?? maybe??
