Yeah I had to take the EGR off, no way was I going to be able to get the PCV out otherwise. Anybody else had this fun PITA time with one of these? Yes it really did suck the big horny toads prostate right out of the fairy tale when the thing cracked:eek: I was thinking that I needed a special fitted hose to replace this one didn't think about asking for such a thing when I was there:banghead::banghead:

Near as I can tell the crack does not go beyond the end of the valve YET...

How in the hill sam do you get all the rear pan bolts off without pulling the engine? Maybe.....no, I am just not seeing how one gets to the bolts at the back of the pan:banghead: I'm sure it will be clear as day when one of you points this out to this unknowledged idiot here:-p Any way HELP..

This might seem silly, but you have checked the battery connections for being tight? -
Got to looking at the fuel pump on my 86' Brat, no wonder I'm smelling gas in the garage when go to leave for work. The piece that is screwed into the receiving end of the pump seems to be leaking fuel. I can hear the pump run when I'm at a low enough idle or moving slow enough, I'm just wondering if I should replace the pump? Thoughts?http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii527/DInky261/IMAG0419.jpg

Thanks guys, it's been a long 4 months didn't think I was ever going to get one for a while there. But :Dlooky now!!!! They are Peugot rims 14". I'm not sure what I'm going to have in the works for it, kinda had to drain the fundage jar to get it. At this point it doesn't need much, a Weber carb probably. The previous owner to the one I bought it from rebuilt the carb and spent $250 doing it, seems to me would have been much better off with a Weber. Yeah, I'll add some more pics, I haven't even popped the hood on her yet:banghead::banghead: However I'm still:banana::banana::banana:that I actually closed the deal on this one:banana: Now I'm glad the guy down in Houston bailed on selling his to me, even though that one had the original paint to it.

Nice video! You move down to Oklahoma you'll lose the opportunity to do that very often if at all. Last year we didn't get anything, so far this year we haven't seen a lick of percipitation, very sad.

Is there any way to tell if they have been flogged and not having let them cool properly without tearing them appart? When they have 170,000 on them?

Sweet sounding ride! Okay that makes sense to me now, I had to due that to the tractor on the farm that had a Turbo on it.

What is the longevity of the Turbos on those? I don't know much about that part of them. I've always be pretty leery of Turbos.

Looks very good,well done. There are GLs to be had, they are just not as plentiful as some other parts of the country. As far as there being a bunch of Soobie nuts around, I have not run into any in my neck of the country here, aside from myself of course.

Sweet! Let me know when you are heading this way:D As far as welding goes, using a mig is easier. If you have to arc it practice on some scrape if you can. Any sort of wind or breeze is going to make either one harder, not impossible just Harder. No welding a nut to bolt won't be greatly hard. One just needs to get fair amount of bite into both the bolt and nut to get it to hold. Arc welding takes more practice, I think, mig is considerably more forgiving. Hopefully I'll have the Brat acquired that I've got my eye on before you come down this way, so that I'll be able to show it to someone who can truly appreciate a Soobe:D Good luck with the guy at the shop.

Yeah, it is generally always better to take the higher road just really hard, as you know all to well. GOOD for though Chris, regardless you will come out on top just knowing you did the right thing, I think that is part of what makes a good Subaru owner:headbang:
