  1. Cool, I can handle that, thanks for the input Brat78. I'm ready to go ahead and get it, IF I CAN JUST GET HIM TO RESPOND.
  2. That is a sweet looking Brat:-) !: My wife is on board with my getting one now . Now I just need to get a deal locked down on it. Waiting for the guy to call me back.
  3. $850 obo.

It is about 2 hours from me so getting pictures is difficult.

Just from the pics he put on CL the rust seems to be minimal, of course there's only two to look at.

  4. My initial thought when I saw this truck for sale was that #1 it's a Subaru and gas milage is pretty darn good. I am thinking that if it is in okay shape, runs and drives decent then I would use it as more of a daily driver than my Tahoe to save on gas.

Then down the road I thought I would try and fix her up time permitting. Feel free to be brutally honest with me here.

I do love the way the Brat looks IMO it's just cool.

The guy did tell me that the brakes need gone over and that he classified it as a project car, I am just thinking it would not take that much to get it up and running.

He said it runs and does not leak anything.

    Thanks

    Heath

  5. Kinda a problem here in the Midwest, I don't see very many at all.
  6. Yeah, I've totally got the Soob fever now! I have to SO get this 1978 Brat:clap:
  7. I did not really do a very good job at introducing myself in my first post:slobber: My first Soob I purchased was an 1984 GL10 Wagon in 1995, it WAS loaded:burnout:. What an awesome car that was...kicking myself NOW that I ever let it go:banghead: Only drove it a couple of years before some kid cut me off and opened my left front fender like a tin can:mad: Didn't think it was worth it to fix it so I traded it for a 1996 Outback in 97', that was of course another AWESOME car too, drove that one for 11 years before donating it to a REALLY good cause & I still get to see it every day at work:D At that point I fell off the Soob wagon and got in Toyota Highlander OOPS... not nearly as comfy as the Soobs I was previously in go figure.... Well still not back to the Soob wagon yet, went for a Tahoe JUST for the leg room & to be able to pull some stuff here and there along the way. Finally got my wife to get a Soob after the VW Jetta stranded her in the middle of the road one day (alternator and battery died simultanously) So partly back to a Soob at least got an 08 Tribeca, good car I was just hoping the MPG to be better than it is. OH well. Like I said in the first post I am concidering getting an 1978 Brat well this forum is just kinda feeding that desire more and more So I look forward to all the input that has been posted already to this point & for the ones to come in the future. SO Greetings ALL:headbang:;)Glad to be here!
  8. This one is forsale on CL, I'm trying to talk my Wife into letting me get it WITHOUT getting Divorced:clap: He is only asking $850, drivetrain is good as well as the engine. Just needs overhaul on the brakes. If anyone could give me a rough esitmate from low to high of what a brake DO would run that might help my case with the wife;)
  9. I am 6'5" too, what is your inseam? (My inseam is in the 36" range) I am seriously concidering getting a 78' Brat, my only issue is that I have never sat in one and this one is about 2 hours away from me. I have issues with sitting in a Rav4 so I am kinda concerned that it might be to tight for me. :-\ So I am trying to asses where other people my size are at in one. Thanks for your time. Heath
  10. I'm in Wichita Kansas, considering getting a 78 Brat. Any advise from anybody here would be appreciated:-) Thanks Heath
