  1. +1 For the filter by the pump inside the rail behind cab on drivers side. Junk in the pump maybe.
  2. What do you think these rims and tires are worth, I can't tell if they are Jackmans or not?? Thoughts. I'll have to post pictures tomorrow can't seem to get the phone to do it...ugh..
  3. Do you happen to have pictures of your setup?
  4. Nice, very NICE! Reminds me of mine.
  5. Post your problem/symptoms in the appropriate section, be sure to add vehicle specifics there also.
  6. Anybody know if this is the way the present day cars/trucks are set up?
  7. Crate it up in 1X boards cover with cardboard and ship on Greyhound they are fairly reasonable too.
  8. Really depends on how many $$$ they want to do the work/parts/ new trans. One huge advantage you have is that you know where it's been and been through. I would say if you can get it going for less then 2-2.5K, it would be worth it. You have done enough other general maintenance, I would say it's worth the effort for a teenager to use.
  9. I knew there was a reason I liked to run with it off, just didn't know what good I was doing.
  10. Nice hitch job DaveT, I do like. I do that to the Loyal I have I can almost justify eliminating the gas guzzling Tahoe. Only thing, I really do love how the Tahoe drives/rides for my big 6'5" frame/legs.
  11. Good to know, will definitely keep this in mind the next time I have this issue.
  12. Sweet find for 1k, + a bike if I read your post right. +1 on having fun with your new ride. For the CV axel, I got my last one from Car Quest World Pac brand, so far so good, knock on wood. If by chance you still have the original Subaru axel in, SAVE IT and rebuild it, there's nn numerous posts saying they are the best to have and use. Good luck and happy driving!
  13. Welcome aboard bud, I would love to come help you put your Brat back together. The commute would kill the day and then some????. Hopefully somebody in your neck of the woods can help you out. Subarus are the best car around!
  14. Look into getting a heli coil to put in place of the threads that are stripped out. There are some other options out there, I recommend this one cause I have used it.
  15. I personally prefer the locking door option. This last weekend I went to get gas and the locking cap I am using wouldn't hardly come off. It is one of those that you have to hold the key over to be able to remove the cap and it would't hardly budge. If we could trust that no one would NOT come along and try to steal gas or put extra crap in the tank I would not be near so adamant about keeping my gas tank locked. I just don't trust STUPID, a lot of them end up dead, not near all of them though. Here is what mine looks like now, I do need to find a washer to lay between the lock and door.
  16. What I did with the one on my Brat was, I went to the hardware store and purchased a mailbox lock, it ended up being slightly smaller than the original but it works.
  17. Congrats on the new to you Subaru! Welcome Back!!! Need to train my wife to drive a manual. Need to get the Loyale up and running for that reason.
