  1. We have completley stripped the silver SS Subaru of all its doors, hood, engine, and front spindels, struts, etc. and it sits on the ground. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO WILL PICK IT UP FOR SCRAP AND TAKE IT AWAY? On N.E. Killingsworth in Portnad, OR P.S. It still has rear tires it tact. It would roll with a dolly, but would need to be plastic wrapped up to keep evrything in. Bonus: One engine that had a salt water bath: free.
  2. Before my romate left for Hawaii he mentioned that there is a Subaru shop somewhere right by us in N.E. Portland. I'm off Killingsworth, and I guess the shop is close by and the owner is a board member. Any one know who or where? Thanks, Ryan
  3. It's nice to be in the exhaust buisness aparenly. We do exhaust hangers all day long for 10$ and they hold your system solid.
  4. I will try and explain this... I have an 83 gl , and i bought it used with a webber. It seems to be mounted backwards from every other webber I've seen. If you are looking at the car from the front, the throttle cable connects on the right. So here's where i'm lost.... Most accelerator cables have a small little barrel at the end that fits into a slide off the side of the rocker on the carb. Mine has instead an inch long post with a divit for a ball (almost like a ball joint) at the end. On the side of the carb, there is a ball. But, the post just kinda sits there, unsecure. when i got the car it had a rubber band holding it there. So, i'm curious, the whole rocker peice is gone, and i haven't seen another right mounted cable so all the rockers i find have the holder on the reverse side as i need. ***Does anybody have any idea what the peice looks like, where i can get one, or how to fab up a piece that can replace (allowing the ball to still roll, not holding it tight, but restricting it from falling off). Please, any help is much appreciated.
  5. I reacently picked up a 84gl-10 wagon and a 86 hatch, and was wondering what exactly is the package deal that makes the gl-10? Also, how interchangeable is the GL-10 with the 86 hatch?
  6. Just curious if there is anyone who could explain to me the process of tuning a webber correctly. Or, anyone local who could tune my webber for around $50. If so please contact me and let me know availability and prices. Thanks guys.
  7. I just got my EA81 and it came with a webber...however the plug off the electric choke seems to be gone. I took a look at Mr. Night Eyes' ride and it looks like the whole plug is just not there. So, here's my question.... Can I run a constant, straight off the battery? If not, what's the best thing to do? On a side note, anyone in Portland, OR have the time and capability to do a valve adjustment on a '83 with straight lifters? I will pay of course.
  8. In ammendment to my earlier post about getting tottally f 'ed on my first offroad experience... Look at what a stock Ipmreza can do. the really impressive stuff the batteries died for, but at one point it was in a rutt about 2 feet deep on one side and about a foot or so on the other. That thing just charged right through it. While I do respect Chris for charging through it, damn it sucks that a stock car could go everywhere I could. It's all about a good driver as well.
  9. Lets all reminisce back to our first experience. Well, mine was just this past weekend and oh how great it was. It started off good< my lack of a welded rear dif got me stuck on some little ***** hill, but then Nicky Night Eyes jumped on the rear bumper and all was well. Then we got a little bit crazier, and even the stock Impreza wagon was going with us. I'm sad to say that it basically went everywhere I did with the exception of a few high center incidents. We then spent about 2 hours looking for " The Subaru Eater ", and eventually we just said screw it and were headed back to the beginning when.... WAAA THWACKKK!!! My car has fallen extremely hard on my front right and is pulling like crazy. So, I tell Nicky on the C.B., I think I got a flat hold up. Only it was much better... So, if you haven't gathered yet, I just bought this car, it's not entirely my fault here.... and I'm not too technical so excuse me if I don’t use proper terminology. Basically, my spindle snapped in half, and the little bracket that’s welded to the bottom of the strut, above the spindle broke off. Just previous to that I lost the screw from the spindle which caused it to shake like a mother and then snap. No beuno! We had to leave the car there, and come back the next day with a replacement. DAY 2: We got it fixed, but we couldn't replace the whole strut because the spacer at the top for the lift was welded on, so we just replaced the whole wheel assembly. Assuming that should do it, we were golden. We drove around some more and things were well. Until... WAAAAA THWACKKK and the pulling returned... WTF? Turns out that little bracket on the bottom of the strut is needed to hold it down in there, where as we though if we just replaced the little cup it sat in and tightened it down we'd be good. We just hit a huge whole and bounced the strut out. But, easy fix, and now we are home. YAY!!!
