  1. The temp gauge never moves I take it? Check your upper and lower radiator hoses for warmth and report back.
  2. If you have an Advance Auto the Axle number is 7306. I know the guy that builds Subaru axles at a company called MWE Axles. They are $75 exchange plus shipping. I might have enough of a core to save ya from shipping yours to him and get you yours alot faster.
  3. The lock tab is an indicator of hydralic valves. You wouldnt have needed to adjust them. Now you do and I know its not simple to do but haven't done it. Do you have access to a FSM?
  4. EGR pipe maybe holding things together??? Theres a tube running from intake to one of the heads.
  5. The photos make the dropoff look very minor but its a long ways down. I hopped off the edge and kindof regretted it afterwards but when somebody might be hurt ya just go for it.
  6. Making a new "incident" post here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=231890#post231890
  7. "TurboXT" lost control of his car following the meet at Red Rocks today. He walked away and declined the ride to the hospital after paramedics arrived. Injuries seemed to be minor and he was able to pull himself out the busted out back window of his XT shortly after the crash. Luckily nobody was in the passenger seat or they might not have been so lucky. He will be sore for a while in the shoulder. The car is totalled but won't be a total loss as Rick will part out the goodies. Just glad he made it out, this could have been a lot worse. The dropoff at the accident scene was very steep and he slid off slightly sideways and then the nose went down and the car rolled end over end finally landing on its top. I have uploaded the photos Joy took in his photo album here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3959
  8. Make sure your passenger side head has the bolt holes for the power steering bracket before you send the head to RAM.
  9. Ill have a toyota load of 80's Subaru parts from the parts stash at good prices. Bring cash or check and lets wheel and deal!!! Id rather not come back with much and would rather it went to people that can use it. All prices are O.B.O. and first come first serve. LSD REAR DIFF-$100 3.70 gear ratio. Rear disc brake kits(2 full kits for 4 lug cars)-$45 Extra rear rotors-$5 a pair. 1 Brand new rear rotor $10 XT checkered seat covers, 4-5 halves for $15? Lots of center caps for wagon wheels and alloys 4/1.00 or $1.00 each on alloy. XT6 (assume xt interchanges?) front headlight assemblies L and R $15/set? Two 3rd eyes. Probably more. The truck looks pretty full!
  10. Hey can you get the towbar out of the ice before he leaves? Pat may want to consider meeting at the Subaru show, noon Saturday.
  11. I would vote for an 84 TurboWagon. They aren't that rare, its the ultimate sleeper, and lots of the RX/Ea82T stuff works on it. Doing a project car that is associated with what most people think of when they think Subaru (A Wagon) should be a goal. The brat idea is great too.
  12. We would rather you didnt make a new account. Email me with the name you want to change to instead.
  13. Ill be there in my Toyota, might have to bring my RC Brat just so I have a "RUNNING SUBARU" along. All my cars aren't done yet. Vanagon, Outback and 83 Turbo are all inoperable. Hopefully by next meet Ill have at least 2 going.
  14. The valve covers are 1996 Hyd lifter 2.5's by the looks of it. I would say they probably switched pistons and rings and built the longblock as a turbo.
  15. If you are tired of parts store axles I have a suggestion for you. Try MWE Axles! The guy that builds these does fantastic work and I want to try to spread the word on his company. Ive watched him build them and they turn out looking better than anything I have bought over the years including Autozone's new ones, CV Of Ocala's, Checker/Advance, Napa, etc.. Im not saying theirs are junk, but alot of the time you install a rebuilt one from them and it clunks on the initial test drive. These aren't built overseas in mass quantities they are built in Denver by a guy that cares about quality and his company. He truly inspects the components before rebuilding them, paints them a really sharp Subaru blue and uses high quality boots and bearings, grease, etc. Its really nice when something rebuilt comes out looking better than the original did new. Please be patient with the builder....His goal is always Quality, not quantity and his business is very sporatic sometimes. Axles are $75 a piece but they are worth it. If you have used MWE before and wouldn't mind giving a review in this post please do! Oh and tell him Shawn sent you.
  16. Old school Subaru's dont seem to appreciate the Platinums. Copper plugs by NGK (stock plug) seems to work the best.
  17. You can't take the sleeves out of the block they are one piece.
  18. Definately could be the intake gaskets.
  19. Far from having a chosen few here I think. Just a busy bunch sometimes and you hit us at the wrong time apparently. Would you mind posting your findings?
  20. Thats a great price, should make the adapter plate seem cheaper too. Id say go for it.
  21. Im going to be looking for a way to ship a ground effects kit. Has anybody here done it before? Im talking about one from an 88 RX and its going from CO to WA for Danbob. Im concerned about the overall length but was considering making a box with 2x4's if necessary.
