  1. If the door jamb emblem says MPV on it then alot of states will designate that as a truck.
  2. Spray rust penetranton the nuts on the fender parts of the bumper. Even on the most rust free of Brats I have had trouble with these. Otherwise the 4 14MM head bolts are easy.
  3. Used em while camping, took the whole frame out and sat it next to the campfire.
  4. Midwest 2: Flat road, nothing to tie to, everyone else stuck or made it out and isn't going to try going back in. Authorities accusing us of destroying the road. The least capable cars are making it out and the ones with all the goodies and good tires are getting stuck.
  5. Really like the gold trim, not enough of that in the models over here.
  6. The day my old brat turned 200K miles. Picture to prove, note gauges are all nearly perfect as well. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2815 Same brat as Jerry used to own. (Bratsrus1)
  7. You don't have to do that. Theres a torque process that involves 3 gradual increases but you shouldnt need to run the engine between them.
  8. I think the slippers make all the difference! Just kidding the grill looks great.
  9. Shocks don't match even might cause this problem. If they dont, replace both.
  10. The seal that is probably leaking is the camshaft seal on the rear of the head. This operation is very time consuming, requires removal of the exhaust and turbocharger to get to the seal. The problem isnt limited to Turbo models but the PITA factor is limited to turbo models for sure. I did one on a NA model in about 5-7 minutes.
  11. Conversion was going to happen this weekend but the parts from Kennedy haven't arrived yet. No biggie, just keeps me from being able to drive it back for Turkey day.
  12. The key chime plug would be most easily found by taking the covers off the steering column. Then find what may be a green plug with 2 wires to it coming from the ignition switch. Not a big plug with 8 wires or so but the smaller.
  13. Check www.subaruparts.com they usually have them in their SPECIALS area. Try this link: http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=9#19
  14. Check the airbox to see if its tight, especially at the bottom. If you are running an aftermarket air filter they don't like to seal well. Try a dealer air filter instead and the box should shut properly. Test my theory by pulling the filter out and idle without it installed for a min.....just not long as its letting dust into the engine.
  15. Please see the off road forum. Here in case you didn't see it: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=30
  16. I can take paypal or check/money orders. PM me for my snail mail address for mailing payment otherwise use shawnw@ultimatesubaru.org for my paypal. Ill estimate shipping asap. Ive got a lot of stuff but its thinning fast too. When I sold the Brat I decided to sell off some of the brat specific stuff I had been hoarding. I dont have a whole lot of other ea81T specific stuff around personally but I think the parts stash at the shop I am helping does.
  17. Yup, to get the gears off. Lots of different choices on a press but a Hydralic one is preferable.
  18. Take pictures as you disassemble it. Watch for little balls and pins, when you lift the gearstacks and such out they can fall out and be very easy to not notice. You need a press to do this job. If you don't have one don't crack the case open, just take it to a professional that has rebuilt the Subaru tranny's before. Just dont lose any of the pieces and disassemble it in an organized fashion. If you run into trouble send me a PM and I can find out what it would cost to have it finished.
