  1. They changed the forecast (not surprising) to 3 days of rain right before the meet now!
  2. I am going to fax this to every dealership in the midwest tomorrow morning. In these states: Iowa, Minn, Wisc, Illinois, SD, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and North Dakota. You are encouraged to follow up with the dealer in your area and print off a few to post at auto parts stores and places that you think it will be seen. Thanks!
  3. I had that same problem. It sounds like you have an aftermarket Pressure plate. You need a dealer one to go with the ea82 clutch disc. Ea81 factory clutch cover is 430157410. That will guarantee that the spring plate on the clutch disc fits inside for the clutch to rest. Keys to remember: Clutch fork makes the throwout bearing a no brainer. ea82 only Trans splines make the disc a no brainer, ea82 only. Flywheel and pressure plate must match each other. 8 and 7.8" clutch components must be used. You could also get a ea82 flywheel and use the ea81 flywheel bolts. Not what I did or felt comfortable doing but the rest of the board disagrees with me on this. I think it would be fine but I went for TRIED AND TRUE instead and used an ea81 flywheel.
  4. Answers: Driveshaft on an ea82 car is a 2 piece. Your 4spd is a 1 pc. You would have to have your ea81 shaft lengthened or you will have to weld the carrier bearing support into the tunnel of your car to use the ea82. Any misalignment will not be good though. I had my driveshaft lengthened at a cost of around 150 bucks with new u-joints. If you are using a non turbo ea82 Trans then your ea81 axles will work. If you are using a turbo trans you need custom axles.
  5. Has there been a change in the wiring harness types between the 95-99 Subaru's and the 00-04 ones?
  6. The 24th of April doesnt appear yet but looks like things will be muddy on Olive RD for the meet. 3 days of rain forecast between now and then. http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USIA0645?from=search_city
  7. Most O2 sensors (at least aftermarket ones) come with AntiSeize already on the sensor or a packet to use.
  8. XT's trans will not work in your Legacy. Is the 3000 parts and labor? Shawn
  9. You could come show it off at the Midwest Subaru meet...as long as dirt and gravel roads aren't a problem you will have fun. The Nebraska Subaru club people are coming with some cars you would probably appreciate and there will be a lot of older Subaru's there with interesting mods.
  10. 6 Bolt steel wheels are best. The spoked aftermarket ones are best as they usually have a flat hub face and get you the best contact to your hub.
  11. Sunday is mostly so everybody doesnt have to leave so early and can stick around and do stuff in the evening. Nothing is planned for after the "show" portion so its up in the air what we are all doing on Sat night. I found what might be an RC car track in a nearby town that we could investigate, or we could go down to a park I found with a pretty washed out road to it, etc. I don't think there will be any problem finding things to do to fill time.
  12. Any other questions or problems that need resolved? I have my CB now. Ill be bringing my Brat now instead of the Wagon as it isn't done yet or plated. Ill post a driving directions post tomorrow night with any luck.
  13. Tamperproof Torx is what they call them. Like said above a hardware store will have a small 5-8 bit set for cheap.
  14. When I got my brat it had a torn boot in the inner joint on the passenger side. I have since replaced that axle and now the other axle shaft has done the same thing, the clip slid off even. What would cause this? Is it just bad reman axles or is it something worse? This vehicle did get rear ended but I don't know if that would be related.
  15. I would knock all of the heat shields off and then degrease it. You will probably end up breaking all the bolts that secure it on but who cares. Just dont park in a pile of leaves or in a really dry area (fire prevention).
  16. Is it that its still got the diff lock but its not FT 4wd?
  17. No sealant on the gasket and yes replace grommets on valve covers. Re-use the bolts. Also be sure to use the proper torque on the bolts as this causes them to snap or prematurely leak. Torque wrench is a must here. 36-48 INCH pounds. For the fuel filter you need to unplug the fuel pump (just above rear seat in most models) and then try to start the car to deflate the pressure in the fuel system. Then just undo the hose clamps and replace the filter.
  18. Below where you reply you have an area "Additional Options." Find the manage attachments button and click it. Then it pops up a window that has a browse button where you can search your local computer for the file you want to post.
