  1. So thats what a silver lifted turbo wagon looks like in the daylight! Heres mine. http://usmb.net/albums/ShawnW/HighRes_WF14A0312043946251.jpg I have the 3" lift kit but 5spd RX trans instead of the 3.90 5speed. Mine isn't going to be for offroading just for street and light offroading. Mine is more of an old school Outback philosophy. Yours looks good. A little surface rust on a fender is an easy fix!
  2. We are in the same boat on so many things lately! Im waiting on my parts from Seattle right now but I too will be trying stab attempt #3 at the clutch.
  3. Im in "The Lodge" and reserved already. Im only staying there Sat night.
  4. I am reserving the shelter at Prep Canyon Park. It costs $25. If any of you wouldn't mind chipping in a couple bucks toward this that would be great. Please also bring $1 per car for an award we are going to have at the meet. Thanks.
  5. The 225MM part means its a clutch of that size but it could be an 84 4wd or newer or its an ea82 flywheel.
  6. They are the same as old soobs and I believe its M12 x 1.25. I got mine at Napa and it wasn't cheap.
  7. I want to go to that school....one where somebody steals a Subaru Repair Manual. Just joking around, sorry.
  8. An ea81T never came with a flywheel cuz they were all Automatics. Which one you use depends on the trans you are going to use mostly.
  9. Is your shifter really sloppy? It might be the cushion rubber thing that holds the shifter.
  10. Im with GLCraigGT, my 2nd choice would be thepartsbin.com Orders over 50 are shipped ground for free too. They have some good prices too. 1stsubaruparts.com is a good cheap dealer website or subaruparts.com too.
  11. Anybody that is thinking about Camping I highly recommend you consider Loess Hills Hideaway. Its only a few bucks more and you dont have to hike and you don't have to go without a shower in the morning/evening (whatever trips ur trigger). Youre also more likely to have fellow Subaru people with you as there are cabins there. Please call and reserve a site yourself. I don't believe you can reserve a site at the state park but I could be wrong. Camping at Loess Hills Hideaway would probably make it possible to camp in your car too.
  12. Well the Pilot bearings are all the same. And the throwout bearing would be the one for the trans you are using. Great post! A nice summary.
  13. Im not sure where its hosted but theres a cool one with A Baja and Ken (QMAN)'s brat from a recent rally somewhere.
  14. No but the thought was there. Both of their vehicles were still going under their own power and they were thinking the parts car could be fun to fix up.
  15. Thats an offroader at a minimum, daily driver easy and restore possible. Come out to the midwest and you would understand what rust really is.
  16. 12:50 AM update... They keep edging their way across the country toward home and stopped by for a few hours. Was nice meeting them. A few small parts were snagged off the parts car and hopefully more later too. Thanks for stopping guys.
  17. I don't think its necessary to turn the flywheel when using an ea82 clutch disc as long as u use the ea81 pressure plate and ea82 throwout bearing it should work fine from what I was understanding.. I really need to make sure this is true before I slap all of mine together but Jerry (Bratsrus1) didn't do anything except have his flywheel turned as far as I understood.
  18. Nice Rack! Really like the looks of the 2 headlight front end on lifted Subaru's. Just looks a little more "mean" for some reason.
  19. My project is the same way. The latest problem is I bought a clutch disc for an XT which always has a Single Range trans and I need a dual range disc because the inner spring plate is egg shaped and doesnt clear the inner ring on the pressure plate. So I have to exchange the disc that I bought 125 miles away from here and order another one that of course is more expensive. My project car (83 Turbowagon) is in no way reinventing the wheel but I am combining a bunch of theories about what will and will not work together to build it and not every theory has been right so far. My goal for completion is the Midwest Meet. Im a car title and a lot of work away from making that goal. Best of luck to you on yours!
