When you find one make sure you get the bracket under the storage compartment that it screws down with. Your current one would be too short. I got around that with my old hatch by getting a really long screw but it wasnt as nice. The grey one I sold on ebay was rare cuz it was from a Brat without power windows and the plastic blank was still in.

Autozone used to pull codes at no charge. Clear them by disconnecting the battery and letting it drain overnight. (not sure on actual length of time but overnight works).

IM a big fan of them too. I wear my mechanics gloves alot too. Do almost as much good and good for the environment. Disposable are much better for oil changes and really messy things.

A volt meter or test light will do wonders for figuring this out. For a stereo install you usually have to find ground, constant power and switched power. Constant power comes from the circuit that the hazards, horn and clock for example run on. So with the key in the off position dig around in the radio harness looking for a wire that has juice....and then switch the key on and look for one that has juice when the car is on. See? Once you have juice then you figure out what pair of wires goes to what speakers. I highly recommend running new wires to the speakers and leaving the existing speakers and wiring intact if possible. Then when you move onto the next car you are able to take your goodies with you if you want.

Polish or rubbing compound usually. Something with just the slightest grit, rinse it off and then wax the surface??

Do u have access to a GPS?

Is the radiator original to the car? Most of the guys with 80's Subaru's on here have replaced theirs in the last 2-3 years...age really seems to be catching up with the radiators lately. Your radiator cap might be bad and not holding pressure.

GD do you want old steering wheels to make the adaptors out of?

You pretty much can if you find a parts car thats the same as yours but 4wd. Its not a simple or quick project.

Id try taking one of the bulbs to radio shack. The new gen people have had good luck with bulbs from there.

I havent been over to the park to do the Recon run yet but at this point how about unofficially its all weekend and play it by ear? Im not sure how many people will show up until 11 Saturday but thats not any big deal either.

If all else fails take the axle and the hub out as one big piece and then take it to a shop to have it pressed out.

Forkspear had the opposite problem. Ratty2Austin I think I got 99% of that deciphered, no worries. I have decided to use the 1984 ea81 flywheel (the bigger clutch type one). I want to be 100 percent sure my new CCR engine isn't messed up by a wobble or anything. Anal me, sorry. My problem is I got the xt6 clutch kit. I asked before but still dont understand....is the disc itself bigger around or is it just thicker....asking because there was a post out here saying you have to turn the flywheel BIGGER on an ea82 flywheel for the xt6 disc but it don't think it said bigger in which way. Does my flywheel need to be turned THINNER or does the clutch surface area need to be EXPANDED for the xt6 disc?

I went up and looked at it tonight. Im going to get it, just have to figure out how to get it back to Coralville. Its an 84 ea81T car, looks like Brian's car but Leopard print (rust). Car won't move in 4wd switched on and lights on the dash indicate the 4wd is engaged.

Car: My 83 Turbowagon project. Engine: ea81T Trans: 88 RX 5spd FT4wd These cars never came with a manual trans. The ea81 flywheel to engine bolts seem to be 9MM diameter. A VERY reputable source says that the holes on an ea82 flywheel are 1MM bigger than ea81 flywheels are. What has been done to get around this when using the ea82 flywheel or am I supposed to use the ea81 7 and 7/8 flywheel with the ea82 clutch kit?

Most junkyards give you a warranty on parts so you just pick the one with the lowest mileage that has a clean looking carburator and such. . When you pull the exhaust off and look up into the head sometimes you can see an extremely clean area like it was steam cleaned.
