  1. Is there a slip of paper in your owners manual kit describing the modification?
  2. Wow, thats the trim, light, bulb, etc...the whole works. Most ppl break the little lense on the very corner only. Not to doubt Carter but are ya sure you need that whole thing? A pull n save, pick n pull type junkyard might want 5-10 bucks for that. If the little lense is all that is broken on yours or the junkyard ones you need 784915080.
  3. Wow I was thinking that was fast, guess I am easy. Thanks!
  4. Problem is if you twist hard enough on the drain plug I bet the smaller bolts holding the pan to the engine would lose. They say not to overtorque the oil pan bolts cuz you can strip out the threads.
  5. No, you take the compressor off the engine bracket and lay it to the side of the engine compartment with the lines still connected.
  6. Some of the LS and LSI models have air suspension (struts) and can be a pain to deal with. They are nice when they work but annoying when they dont.
  7. Felpro sets are quite good. Not quite the OEM quality but quite good. I have bought gasket kits on ebay for pretty reasonable prices.
  8. Welcome Back Adam! NEEP NEEP! There was a guy selling a 3dr with a 2.2L engine in it recently. It had some body damage from a mishap. Very recently there was a turbo legacy wagon for sale on Autotrader in Colo I think. Automatic of course but you could convert it to a 5 or 6 spd(WRX) after the trans blew up. (if it ever does) OT: Im looking into moving to Colorado just so you know. If you know of any Tech Support type job leads that might help me in moving that would be really helpful.
  9. Do I have to enlarge the hole for the gear selector? Car is an 83 GL Wagon that originally had a 3AT 4x4 in it. Im putting a 5spd in.
  10. $75 for a mint rust free door isnt that rediculous especially if it has all the interior panels and the window regulator is decent. Could be ESPECIALLY reasonable if the paint code matches your car and it has no dings. Odds of that, about zero. Sorry to be a terd about your rant.
  11. Took this from another prior post but Dr RX knows his stuff on these models.
  12. Is this the 81 or 83 hatch? I ask because I am wondering if its the stock wiring or if you have done a DPDT or other type of setup for it.
  13. Just so you guys know we made it so you can do 2 letter searches instead of the 3.
  14. Change the belt every 60k miles. Do a search for synthetic oil on the board here. Results here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/usmb/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=39336&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending Towards the bottom of the results are some pretty good hits.
  15. The XT seat has a height adjuster so the seat allows you to sit higher and further away from the pedals/wheel. Not a total solution but it helps.
  16. Well my closest dealer is 30 min away and I am not sure they would have a late 90's OBS in their inventory. Ill have to try that though. Shawn
  17. My 83 Wagon Speedo cable wont thread into the 88 RX FT4wd trans. Do I need to use an RX speedo cable or is it cuz the black piece in the bottom of the speedo cable hole needs to come out? It looks like its some sort of seal but I can't be sure cuz of the angle at which I can see it from the engine compartment.
  18. I heard if you call 800-Subaru3 they have them...thats Subaru of America's line I think.
  19. I got a clutch kit online for a lot cheaper than advance auto sells one for. The box said thepartsbin on it when it arrived.
