Depends on what you are going for I think. I personally would look at dark blue but thats just me. I think that would look sharp. Im not the biggest fan of the stickers but they look kindof naked without them sometimes too.

They sell electromotive or similar products at the parts stores for cleaning alternators and distributors. Read package carefully.

brake light problem-84 wagon
ShawnW replied to paulpicard's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Easy to replace though. I just pulled it from the parts car and sent the car to the crusher. If you want it just pay the shipping and I will find some bubblewrap and a little box. -
Another option for bigger wheels!
ShawnW replied to TROGDOR!'s topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its not the rim that shouldnt exceed 45 its the tire. That guy that ran spare tire rims with off road tires is the guy that lives here in town with me but he doesnt frequent the web. -

I hope this question doesnt touch a nerve or upset anybody unnecessarily but I wondered if the silver wagon he drove to WCSS3 is still up and going. -
That looks like it would work on an ea81T too. Mind sharing the kit parts list with me too? Thanks!!!

brake light problem-84 wagon

Replace the unit? I might have one here. I think its in the area where the right rear taillight is, am I right? Shawn -
"Fedex Sucks" is kindof harsh when you got your bumper and all they were doing was a quality check. I don't think they have to make you sign for something on ground shipping unless the sender requests it. I have had great luck with them so far. They save a lot of money for shipping bulky items and I haven't had a package lost yet.

Towing a subaru with an automatic
ShawnW replied to Snowman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You cant flat tow an automatic with them on the ground. You could put stub axles in the front thus disconnecting the trans from the wheels, or you could to dolly it. Pulling a Subaru with a Subaru is not recommended. I did it with my Legacy pulling a 83 Wagon but it was flat towing and it was flat ground not mountain passes. Stopping was not fun but not that horrible. A Panic stop would have been more scary. -
Thats sharp Ken!

That sounds like a good winter car for somebody that lives in a region where they dont inspect cars. I wish it was closer. Shawn

Saw an RX on the road! Rare round these parts.
ShawnW replied to MorganM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
"Hope it hits the junkyard soon?" I am sorry I just can't let that slide--that is nasty. Why would you ever want a Subaru in the junkyard that was seen going down the highway reliably. An RX is rare and special and I hope it stays on the road as long as it can.....you can get parts off a wrecked one. -
I came up with this idea and I think everybody has the right idea but maybe I can help clear some things up: When I came up with the idea it was with these ideas in mind: When something good comes up on Ebay and somebody recognizable from the board is the current high bidder, a lot of us will not outbid that person as they are a friend, etc Second, I know this is the Subaru community, not the Acura/Lexus/BMW, etc.... community and a lot of people here don't have a lot of money around but they do have a lot of spare parts around. For some, spare parts can be had easier than spare change sometimes and for others, spare parts are hard to find and they might have the $ for them. Third, you can help without losing a dime. Just drive the price up to your maximum and if you win you got the item for a price you were willing to pay for it and if you lose, somebody with more desire or cash got it. But either way you aren't making somebody rich with your bid- you are helping the board. Most of us would rather make the board rich than someone on ebay. Don't worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to donate to the board. Save your money for when something comes up that you need or want and lets let the guys that need the items win the items. I think this is the best thing to do for the Subaru community and each other.

Dennis, that car looks really familiar, is that BBitners(sp?) old one? Shawn

Here is the USRM article on the helicoil procedure: http://usmb.net/repair/?CurrentDirectory=FOLDER_3f29dd8b798ae3.96104436/&FileType=Article&File=ARTICLE_3f3c61f742ce63.72352405.art The USRM is "the ultimate subaru repair manual." The button is labeled USRM on the top bar of buttons on all screens here at the Board.

There was a post about future Subaru models in the newer generation forum and there was mention of a Diesel Legacy.
