  1. No. On a Brat the VSS is driven off the back of the speedo head. Its got its own wire and spade terminal. I think the wire is yellow. Connect that wire to the 2.2 Ecm pin you mentioned.
  2. If this is it I can ship it to you. It has a snap ring inside and you can press the bearing out its an NSK 6202V bearing inside the pulley. $20 shipped will toss in a bearing and a pulley assembly (shown) in a flat rate box. Phone number 720-440-1662 to order.
  3. If you need/want the Korg that might be ok. I think you could part it out for more but not everyone has the facility to do that. Its likely got a scrap value of at least 350 without taking anything off it. Im not sure you could get $200 for the topper the market isn't that great in the midwest for one last I tried.
  4. It seems like we use this forum as info and Marketplace do you guys want a sub forum for just 1980 and older in here?
  5. Just curious, what does it list in the book?

  8. Look here, great photos on how to distinguish the head generations: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101260
  9. Sounds similar to what I remember. I recall gen 1 just being EA82, GEN2 has a Square around this, and gen 3 might be the lines.
  10. I don't think there is on the block itself. I would order the newest one they can as the last generation of cylinder heads they had were the best. Like 88-90 ish.
  11. Only way i might beat Rock auto is shipping cost unless thats free or some low price.
  12. ITs 6 bolts and 2 nuts as you counted. The torque converter bolts are accessed from the top on the passenger side of the bellhousing. Probably is/was a rubber plug hiding them for the access hole. I use a wobble head 12MM wrench. Clearance is definately an issue but its doable. Easy after a few engine R+R's. Same job as any of the older Subaru's. "What size bolt am I looking at to remove the forward drivers side hose? It's larger than 19mm and I'm going to have to buy a socket specifically for it" I am not sure what you are talking about on this one.
  13. Which model are we talking about? I can order and ship them, usually can beat the price. If we are talking the Loyale Series I think I can get one for about $45. 720-440-1662
  14. Ok thanks. I thought the D/R ones were but you are right.
  15. If you find it in a manual let me know what page. Ive got 83 and 84 books here in FSM. Most of the photos are 4spd 4wd.
  16. I just ordered one of these for a customer. Subaru PN 22633AA010 $7.50 and available still if anybody needs one I can ship it. They are stocked at the dealer here.
  17. Can anybody take a photo of the front bellhousing of a FWD 5spd ea81 trans for me? I have a seal leak on a customer car and I don't remember if theres a plate or something that can be removed to access it or if you have to split the case like any of the other tranny's I have dealt with.
  18. One of my customers moved to Los Angeles and I am seeking a trustworthy mechanic to take over where I left off here. It can be an at home side job type person or a professional full service shop. She drives a 2000 Impreza L 2.2L Sedan. She says she lives at zip code 91786 near Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Pomona, Ontario, Montclair.... Any help is appreciated.
  19. Thats the easiest. Then you have all the parts.
  20. You need pedal assembly, clutch cable, transmission, rear end if the ratio doesn't match, driveshaft modified, wiring to phase out the inhibitor switch and reverse lights, center consoles. Then Jerry's kit, you ship him the shifters from a 4spd and a 5 speed and a crossemember from a 4 speed and he sends you a kit.
  21. The AT system has some sort of checker device in the instrument cluster but for the life of me I can't find it. 83 FSM says its on the back of the inst cluster with a wiper relay.
