  1. All the same I applaud your efforts for Rallycross and hope you will keep your chin up and your events coming.
  2. Compressed air doesnt work?
  3. Previously but sold cars: 97 Ej22 and Vanagon 2.2 swaps with the cams. Loved both and stuck with mild grinds but no noticable difference in idle.
  4. Split the transmission main case and the ring section has the stub shafts coming out of it. I remember them being c clipped into the ring pumpkin and being able to swap them. It will be obvious when you get it apart though.
  5. Absolutely appreciate the efforts and look forward to the prospect of having one of these someday.
  6. My car was the winning car but I wasn't the winning driver. Max Johnson won P4 with it. I am really enjoying my car now. I am on event number 4 in it and will definately be going to the November event to finish the season off. I got 6th with a comeback that I am rather proud of. I went from 10th to 6th on Sunday. The M4 class was absolutely amazing to watch battle as well and I am not looking forward to having that much competitiion when the "regular" rally car we have is ready to go again. I hope the heart transplant works out as well as expected.
  7. Or you need one that has the stubs on the transmmission converted. This requires taking the trans apart and changing the stubs but the nice thing is you can use stock brat axles from then on. I have one I am considering selling. I resealed it and installed it in my Ej22 conversion car and decided to try a part time 5 speed instead. PM me for more information.
  8. Great weekend, very cold racing conditions but really fun and terrific event for Rallycross. My teammate Max Johnson won PA in my 2009 WRX. Im not sure how but I managed to come from 10th to finish 6th on the last day. The long course on the final day where I was making up time on everyone except Max was really fun and the car seemed built for it. Scca has their Rallycross section here where you can read about the championship competition: http://www.scca.com/newsarticle.aspx?hub=2&news=3798 Near the end of the event we met Lea Croteau who is trying to drive 365 different cars in a year and of course I offered my car to her. She was great to talk to and we hope she comes out and drives at Rallycross in the next events. Her site is here and my car is featured today: http://365drive.blogspot.com/ I wish I could have seen more of you at the event but truly understand the distance and cost factors, especially you PNW guys that are some of the most exciting competition in the sport.
  9. Toms Brats is in for one as well. I will send his payment with mine as 1 order.
  10. Please put me down for one. I will need somebody to hold mine near Seattle till WCSS or a friend comes to get them with his semi truck. I dont care about color of interior pieces.
  11. SWEEET! That looks really clean like it BELONGS in there!
  12. Have they offered a Diesel in your liberty over there yet? That with a 6MT trans would probably handle the weight as long as the brakes were up to the task.
  13. Honestly as easy as they are to remove and install the car is almost as good a test stand as any. With no radiator in it theres a lot of room.
  14. I think you could drill holes in the rotors where the threaded holes would normally be and tap the holes out M8x1.25 like the others were.
  15. I would take the normal 5mt outback. None of these cars has good approach angle and the 5mt 4.11 trans is probably the best off road of your cars. The older outback is also the easiest to find a replacement bumper for when you do whack it.
  16. I would like a WCSS 8 in L and the 11 in L. Let me know who to Paypal $ to. I dont want to open a can of worms for you but would there be people and somebody to reprint them that want even older designs reprinted? For example My WCSS3's are getting OLD.
  17. Sweet! Congrats on the wrx! The alternator for these older outbacks are cheap at the dealer too due to the recalled one they run around 75 dollars for a reman unit across a dealer parts counter. Thats probably cheaper than an auto parts store for the same part.
  18. Subarus dont have a transfer case per say the transfer is in the back end of the actual transmission. Losing 5th is very rare but it could happen. What does it feel like when you try for that gear with the car shut off? Does it feel like you are swimming to get to all the gears other than 5th as well? I wonder if the linkage is so sloppy or worn that you cant reach it.
  19. Yes, real futbol is almost finished. I play year round indoors and love it. I don't recall seeing Subaru sponsor anything to do with an NFL event, game, etc but I know they support soccer teams in a few countries. Its called the worlds game for a reason. Anyway back on topic you mud loving corn cobbers.
  20. Probably best directly from Redline if they sell one. I think they are even out near you. My Bad, torrence, california but all the same they list repair parts and such. Sounds like float to me I hope Jerry DeMoss will reply he knows these well.
  21. Does that require, or benefit from using a hatchback gas tank?
  22. Id almost kill for that dash today too if it makes it hurt less. After a day of pulling nearly an entire car apart and then using the pull and saves crap wheel borrows on a 105 degree day I think this is still my fault and not excusable.
  23. Id just clear it and keep an eye on the light. If the CEL starts flashing you have an active misfire and could damage the catalyst. That knock sensor is a huge factor too. When they are bad the car will run like absolute crap at times.
  24. Just gotta finish labeling the wires I think! :)
