Don't worry, you'll have a whole new level of lack of quality to deal with now! Wanna buy a Legacy GT that only needs its 3rd tranny, a new clutch and throwout bearing, the exhaust is now leaking and the stupid trim piece above the rear cup holder keeps falling off at 12k. It should be a fun dealer trip when she goes in. Sorry to hear about your luck Matt!!! I thought the lack of quality was mostly in the Amercan made models. Have you made it home yet? Can you still hear or should I BE USING CAPS!!! Call me when you get a chance! We have some stuff to discuss! Oh yeah, why were you on 95? I'd never take that to Charlotte! 81 all the way baby!

Anybody around southern VA on 81? If so Hocrest and leaking oil are on their way to the Dragon meet and had a flat. Were gonna try to make it to a walmart or Sears in time but not so sure if they made it. Last I talked to them they were about 120 miles N of Roanoke. They'd need a 14 inch 5 lug or so wheel and tire to borrow until the trip back at the earliest. Its a FWD XT6 so not much else matters. Thanks!!! Update: They made it to Sears just in time to get raped for a tire!! Thanks again, now they won't be riding on a doughnut through the dragon.

At least they are back on the road. I feel horrible as it's my car!!!

First try disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes minimum to reset the computer (it holds power). If it comes back on that means there is a code in the computer. I don't think there is a self diagnostic for the airbag system but could be wrong. Why do you mean it is a reminder taht you're not driving a 05 Mercedes... because you only have 1 light on? Mercedes have definately taken a downward spiral in recent years. Heck, Jag has been getting better reliablity reports the past couple years and the arrogance of the dealerships isn't helping matters much from what I've heard from most lifetime Mercedes owners I know.

Sounds like it is on the way out but try a fluid change (DO NOT FLUSH IT AT THIS POINT!!!), if it helps do another change as you only get about 1/2 out when you pull the plug, then try this product. Seafoam Trans additive. If it is salvagable this will do it and won't cost ya more than $50 or so to do it all provided you do the work yourself.

Actually, it was there and about 10pm one of the guys there with Grassroots Motorsports/Classic Motorsports stopped by our tent for a spell and complemented it. He said something to the effect of it was the best one he had seen in a while and always loved 'em. No pics though so I don't see it appearing anytime soon in one of their publications BUT Speed Channel was there taping on Saturday at the autox when we were running so its possible you may get to see our racer on national tv. Looks like they have a show airing June 4th at 9pm called Cars at Carlisle. It is an hour program. Hope we made the cut!!!

My wife's POS GT is having yet another issue. This will be the 10th dealer visit in 12k. Warranty or not, it'll be my last American made Subaru. Anyways, the trim piece above the rear seat cup holder I noticed was on the floor today. She said it is always falling out. It doesn't even seem like it comes close to fitting (like 1/4 inches too small where it should clip in. Anybody have any clue what it even covers first of and why it needs to be "removable" also, a part number would be great so I can call the dealer and have them order it then take the car in and show them why I need it and that I'm not paying for it as it is clearly shoddy workmanship. Don't get me wrong. I love my Subies, but this is more like a Chevy Corsica in its design and quality of construction. I just don't wanna have to drive 40 minutes to the dealer just to have them say. We'll order it and call ya then have to go back.

Here you go boys. http://www.scca-susq.com/results.html Definately not the fastest but I came it 10th overall and 22 or so in pax (which is tough for a E Prepared car to do well in). Dave I think was 11th. Not sure about Melis but she did great considering she'd never been in the car before. Still have plent of issues to iron out and actual working struts to get and put in but I know if we figure out why it won't shift from first to 2nd right then we'll shave about 2-3 seconds of that time w/o much else. That would put us up there with the faster drivers of the day.

It was great to see everybody. Sorry we didn't get to say by and help you boys pack up as the autoxing was running very late. I left at 5:15ish!!!. My wife is now in the early stages of labor so I'll have more to post later. A BIG THANKS TO SUBARUBRAT FOR ALL HIS HARD WORK TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. I totally know how tough it can be. Hopefully next year we'll get more attendees. It is really a great time and Scott's beer was amazing!!!

Having issues with our SVX racer that we need help ASAP with (the sponsors are coming to Sunday's race and she currently doesn't run). Already posted on SVX network but it is more of a subie in general question Here's the lowdown. Car starts then dies. Fuel pump pumps fuel while key is in start position but not while in on position. My other SVX pumps when in on position. My FSMs don't tell me where the Fuel pump modulator and resister are. I'm assuming that is what I'd check next but don't have a clue where they might be or what they'd look like. Thanks!

Results from Atlanta Autox this past sunday

Nice driving. My guess is it was a fairly tight course as Honda's that are set up properly do well on 'em. You can always tell when the local SCCA Honda drivers set up the courses as they finish better. My test is how close I can come to a properly set up mini. If I'm within a second to 1.5 sec. It was a good day. -
Gas tank rust????????????

Hey Jason, Only real fix isn't a quick fix or a cheap fix. You could be like Hocrest and not fill your tank up the whole way. As for your carb. It really isn't that hard to rebuild it yourself if you got some patience and a few days. Can be done for like $30 or so and 3 hours for a novice. Otherwise get make a drive to Harry's or New Ringgold. You're bound to find a usable one for $10 or so. Oh yeah, my guess is you don't have a Carter/weber but rather a Hitachi carb. Carter/webers were kinda rare this side of the country. -
Will ask 79 when I get back from my ski trip. I still don't understand how the dif affects the tranny though. They are totally separate. Sure the tranny has a ???? amount of life left in it. We're not looking for much. Probably 200 miles of HARD autoxing this year on it. Just wondering about the need to drop it and take the gears out of it at the moment. I'm lazy, I'd leave 'em there. Hocrest is more ambitious.
