After my first reply to this post, I found a 93 Impreza with a five spd. It only cost 100.00 bones...the owner thought the tranny was shot.....it was just a bad axle!! I will be putting the 2.2 from the Legacy yupin her shortly.....point of the story, don't give up!! Josh!

Yo Zooma, what's up?? A lot of people on this forum sleep when they are on-line, or only respond when they want to burn somebody with their impressive Subaru knowledge...so, 1)As to the relaibilty of the Forester...I am not a Forester owner myself, but what usaully makes a car relaible is the drivetrain. Soobs DO have relaible drivetrains...I have never owned cars that hold up as well as the Soobs...just keep maintaining them, and you can't go wrong! 2)As to the oil, I just go cheap and use Napa 10-30 and change religiously! Every 2500-3000! It's so cheap, why not! 3)As the the AWD system, I am currently having problems with my 90 Legacy...we think the problem stems from bad trie maintenance. The previous owner drove around with different tire pressure....the only reason we think this is because the sound almost goes away when the tires are exactly the same pressure. We could be way off, but always check you tire pressure to make sure that they are that same. 4)As to the unusual issues with you car...I am in the dark with the Foresters. I can tell you that a bunch of people have had bad experiences with quick lube places...so change it yourself ot take it to the dealer! Also, make sure you break in your ride before you take "baja'n"! You baught into a great car company! I am curious why you did buy into Subaru since you had'nt before....what was it that sold you...... Josh!

Napa chraged me 240.00 for a NEW clutch....similar to AutoZone's price of 230.00......Miles always told me to pull the motor and service the motor the same time you pull it...belts, seals, etc. Takes half the time and and can be done with one person! We will be doing this to my 93 Impreza this weekend! To make things even more fun, we will be swaping motors from my 90 Legacy! What kind of performance do you get from your 2.2 Impreza? The 1.8 is ok, but..... Josh

So it is an AWD, yes? How much is it? How many miles are on it? 5 Speed? I bought my 90 Legacy for $200.00 with 198K! It had a bad tranny seal....replaced it and was good to go. Can't go wrong with a 2.2!!! Now I am going to put it in my 5 spd Impreza and smoke some wanna-b-s!!! Josh!

I wanted to get the glue off my Legacy, but was unsure how without messing up my clear coat...I wil try the bounce w/ hot water...If it works, I will be excited, but as to the excitement level of ripping off my undies...only if there is a female present...and maybe if she were gently straddling the front of my car with her pelvic area.........:-\ I will try the bounce method! We have been pondering that...but where are you going to mount you antenna so it doesn't get ripped off by brush when you are "jeeping"? Josh!

How about someone from here getting a part-time job at a dealer and sling us the parts for half the price...or atleast cost!!! Just an idea. What kind of discounts do you think they get anyway? I need help! My Impreza is "Tropical Sea Breeze Mist Green" as Myoss Feece would call it. It needs a different paint scheme or something like some kick butt decals. It has a really nice body and I would hate to paint it black with orange and white stripes...suggestion of Miles Fox. Any CHEAP suggestions would be appreciated. If I can't think of anything, I am just going to throw a 2.2 in it and call it Breezy! :wave: Josh!

Wow, a trashwagon siting! BPD is looking for that thing!...j/k Miles! Yeh, K & N panel and air box chop is easier!....although Toyofast seems to have mastered the cone filter approach....It has a nice look. I cut the bottom of my air box and then re-installed....looks like water might get in there and ruin the filter...I will check on a weekly basis and report my findings. (93 Impreza) Josh

well, i know all about them crazy trips out west !

Replaced the axle and got it on the road. Had to adjust the clutch (will need to be replaced soon-ish) and started hearing popping from the drivers side front (last axle, so oh well). All said and done: Paid 100.00 for car Axles 160.00 Clutch 204.00 Tires 150.00 (from Myoss Feece) 205-60 15's All Invested so far about 600.00 beans! Thats not so bad! I love this ride! Oh yeah, cut off the muffler (sweet street sound) and the bottom of the air box! Josh!

Hey Emily, long time no speak! That is what I needed to know. I will probably leave it in the Legacy for now and pull the radiator out of the Impreza so I have a 4WD for snow season:brow: ....then when the snow melts, I will put the EJ2.2 and the radiator back in the Impreza!....I am going to blow away the RX:banana: !!!! I would love to to put a turbo yupinit, but all I have laying around is a straight 2.2. I recently acquired a baby three months ago...that sucker is not cheap...but I am still going to keep him. So, with that in mind, I need to go the cheapest route possible...so I figure 2.2 with air and exhaust mods. Josh!

Would I have to swap computers If I replaced my EJ1.8 with an EJ2.2? Thinking of pimping out this Impreza, but first it needs some serious jeuvos! Josh!

I looked for about the same car a year ago and found nothing...before my 02Tracker:( and before 03Legacy:D . I gave up! But, I am sure you are having better success due to the region you live in...right? I had a friend who used to live there, he said they were all over...and a dealer from OH told us that he can go to VA and pick up "semi trailer loads" of Soobs... I picked up an EJ1.8 over the weekend.....has 13's on it:( ....will there be any problem throwing my stock 90 Legacy rims (14's) on it? Basically, I want the biggest tire I can get without having to raise the suspension, etc. Suggestions? Josh
