  1. The idle seems normal. At a complete stop I noticed a jolt a few times. It was similar to putting an automatic transmission in gear. I glanced down at the tach when I felt this happen and it appeared steady around 700-800 rpms. The AC was not, I checked the fluids this weekend and everything was fine. Car has about 180,000 mile on it. Mark
  2. Came on returning from work on Friday and stayed after a few short trips around town on Saturday. Sunday it disappeared and it came back on my way into work this morning. Mark
  3. My 2000 Outback had the CEL come on and the code is 1505, the people at AutoZone said it was the Idle Control System Circuit. How do I go about trying to fix it myself? Mark
  4. I just noticed a similar sound on my 2000 Outback Friday morning. How do you bleed the heater and where is the HVAC box? Mark
  5. Theotherskip, thanks for coordinating an effort to document the blown head gaskets. I opened a case with Subaru this afternoon and will send them copies of the services I have had done to the car. It will be difficult to document the oil changes since that is something that I do but it will make me feel better. I also plan on filing a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/. I believe that the NHTSA would start an investigation into this if they had a significant number of complaints recorded. For what it is worth, I love this car except for this suspected defect.
  6. Just got the word this morning, our 2000 Outback with 102,000 miles has a blown head gasket. Mostly highway miles on it and we have always gotten the recommended services in the owners manual.
