  2. Anyone have a nice little walkthough on how to maybe remove the emissions from a 1984 GL wagon 4x4 with auto trans? Just curious. I would never do such a thing ya know.... Dave
  3. Just tuned it up the other day. NGK spark plugs. Perhaps I am due for a carb rebuild.
  4. I have a 1984 Sub 4x4 and she is running rich. Getting about 14 MPG. I shoot out black smoke when I mash on the gas going up hill... Apart from replacing the O2 sensor and or Coolant temp sensor is there a way to adjust the fuel mixture so that my car will get the right mixture? Got a Hitachi Carb setup.

  6. Actually found my Problem.... After replaceing all the Spark plugs, coil, cap rotor it still didn't run very well... I sat there and scratched my head. Then LO I beheld my cause of much anguish..... One tiny little vacuum home came loose.... How something so small can cause such great problems!! GGGRRRR!!
  7. Everything there is good when it comes to the oil and tranny fluid. It seems to be in the top end where I loose power. I also am getting some really bad valve pinging when I try and go up a hill. Sounds a bunch of marbles in the engine banging around. I wouldn't think the valves should need adjusting as this just all started happenening suddenly. Dunno. So I am gonna replace all the spark plugs, caps rotor again and filters. But I have my doubts there. Perhaps it is a carb problem...
  8. Got a 1984 GL 4x4 Wagon Auto tranny. Has been running great up to now. Engine runs fine plenty of power in the engine, but my acceleration has dramatically dropped off. It is like there is half the acceleration there was. Replaced Spark plugs wire cap rotor and ignition coil about 5k miles ago, so I don't think it is the Engine. Could it be tranny issues? Anyone ever have this problem?
