  1. If it"s a wgn. it already has mega stash spots in the back an then some!!!
  2. YEP, Gotta go with ISGONE on this....usually when one side goes bad the other follows next short after! I just finished doing my car ea-81 2 wks. ago-the bearings got so bad you could"nt hear the radio anymore{EX-GF Drives this car}-She started complaining about not being able to hear the stereo anymore so I had to look at it {I just change the oil,she drives} I drove it 2 blks. WOW-DEAFNING!!! I asked her how long it had been like this an she tells me 6-8months an it got to where the radio did"nt drown it out anymore It took me 2HRS. w/my 3/4"air hammer to get the damn axles out-I"m thankful 4 ear plugs
  3. Scary $*it man....1 good pothole and you could"ve been driving a frt.whl. drv. car literally....Could"ve been some Good articulation there for 4whling HA HA
  4. I hate to sound stupid but it sounds like the brk.pad wear indicators.....or it has a pebble or something like that stuck around the caliper....
  5. @Glensz,Like everybody else says SUBIEs like 3-5500,mine ALWAYS SEE 5000 and their happy @Rust I like your comment about how oil leaks protect the undercarrige-Funny!! The one thing about the autos you should know is the governer can go bad on them but they are really easy to change 175eya should be able to tell you about this.I"ve gotten auto cars for cheap because shops told people the trans was shot-just a heads up about a issue that might pop up no biggie! Looks like you scored a nice car though!! You"ll be addicted before long though HAHA!
  6. I"m like ferox,I"m set up at home to do Everything I need-FAB.Weld,Restore,Rebuild.My friends Always want to use my shop Sorry... thereis a place here in Westminister called DIY and I think they are connected with NAPA-they have NAPA oil &antifreeze and offer napa parts if you don"t have your own.You should be able to find them on the WEB here in CO. I think it"s www.DIY.com But I"m with GD on the liability part of it and the money. Good Luck
  7. Well i"ve been moving 2 houses from outside of Denver,co to Delta,co.,since June so all I do is load up the car an trailer and drive an unload so I"ve been going every 2-4 days back an forth 700mi. round trip soooo...hence oil changes so much plus like I said the tachs are seeing 5 grand ALL the time on the {5} PASSES 11,000ft. so goes the daily floggin-I don"t think any other car could stand the abuse besides a TOY PU. I have a 08 Ranger 4x pu 58k. that did the first 2 mths. and the tranny started acting funny so I went to the old faithful superoos to do work plus the Dogs have more room in the wgns-90 loy.&98 outback PLUS they are WAY better in the SNOW-Blizzacks ROCK!!!
  8. Hey...I agree with the filters,I use to use the factory 1s till they got stupid expensive-$7.00 for one so i started using the puros. and since I change oil every 2 1/2-3 weeks it"s cost effective for me.....GEEZ it seems like all I do is drive and change oil for the last 8 months and feed the Dogs-they commute w/me...700mi,now it"s down to once a wk. finally!! I"m suprised the tach isn"t stuck at 45-5000 Grand as much as it"s been there for the last 8 months going over the passes
  9. I"d dig the 12cyl.sub. mtr. behind the 6spd. in a 84....That would be a SICK Sleeper plus sound ODD an Cool
  10. Hey! Congrats on the boy.... I know about time not being friendly-My 700mi.daily commute has gone down to once a wk.now....It"s fun trying to buy a car on the run-HAHA, I was comin to Den. an seen a 83 wgn. for $500. in Rifle stopped for 15 min. gave him $400. came back 5 days later an drove it to Delta w/a dead hole-30mph over the Grand MESA was fun!! Then came back to Den. to get some parts AND Bikes {I Collect M/Cs too W/Subies}...Maybe 1 of these months I"ll get back to work too if the weather gets straight-Snow or get off the Pot[toilet]!!! I have projects to do too,Like ICE FISHIN Be nice!!! Nice job on Squirrel there ALOT of hrs.TOO!! I go thru that on the Bikes-at least you don"t have to polish each spoke at a time HAHA!! Springs comin though an can work outside again Yee Haa!! Nice job again O.C.D. Nate
  11. Bummer man....I seen the other 1 get snagged up there too and now yours...I"m with the other guy-somebody needs parts or they heard your stereo-That"s what happens here, they hear the stereo bump an bye bye...Good luck.

  13. Like I said in my last comment-if the screw for the choke is screwed in too much it will never idle low
  14. Well, Subaru"s done it:( The new ones look just like all the other **** out there Acura,Infinity,Audi,BMW,Yada Yada!! I like two earlier comments that Fit..1-A Urban Adventure Vehicle:lol:{Good for Grocery Getting} 2-Most Soob owners don"t offroad....I"m Offended:mad:
  15. First off China bearings are junk, along w/mexico,brazil,so on they use 3rd rate steel!! The best bearings you can buy is U.S.made,german-$$$ but good!! Mexico is the worst metal you can use-anything steel is JUNK-they put POT Metal in it pretty much anything that"ll melt and stay together the"ll use BAD BAD, China not much better...Trust me I do Fabrication-Welding I know Now on to the axle issue..If it"s clunking and vibrating that bad I"d sh*tcan it!! It"ll just tear up the bearings on the hub and the tranny output shaft...And switching cups around sounds like alot of work for not much reward.... Good luck
  16. :DNice body style I like that no post-clean!! It looks like a old Toy. from that era I can"t remember model...I could use the webers for a E-Type I"m working on:brow:...
  17. The windshield is glued in-no rubber gasket.look around the windshield frame and look for the paint bubbling-rust?The trim around the windshield holds dirt in and makes it rust so it could be leaking there..Heater core would be antifreeze!
  18. Hell they tell me-There"s no way you can pull me out WITH THAT!!! I say-WHY NOT? They say-Well we can try it!! 10-20min.later:grin: they"re out looking:confused: It"s funny chit man:D
  19. DITTO!!! If you don"t have a good feeling about a car-stay away!!You said the steer.whl.+pass. air bag colors didn"t match the rest...It"s been wrecked!! It"s good you picked the forester....Hope you like it!
  20. The inside coating crap just starts to flake off over time and starts plugging stuff-IE-carb, fuel filters, pump,I"ve seen my buddies do it on motorcycles-last about a year or so then issues!! I"d weld it-nothin but a thing!! Gen 1 wgn. here I don"t rememb.if it was 2 or 4x I"m going up there now.. Super clean car-windshield,frt.end,dash-all gone
  21. YES Stop LEAK BAD!!! Car wash it underneath and find leak!! Go from there.
