  1. In addition, check the tensionof the fan belt that drives the alternator. Getting it wet may have caused it to slip, making it not charge. Dry it and put a bit of belt dressing on it if it's taught enough.
  2. Sure, but you could just PM it to him, he's in Haines now conversing from his computer there.
  3. The fluid was tan and foamy? Normally the fluid should be almost clear, and the foamy part is either air being whipped into it, or water, I would guess. My 4sp whines in 4th, but performs fine. It's just a whiner.:boohoo:
  4. Old habits die hard. You might want to edit your post to 2004, not 2003. But the ad is very cool and the new model is something I will have to hide from my wife as she's already talking about trading in her 96 Legacy for something new. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Torxx, if you want to cover him from the border o the Glenallen cut-off, I can pick him up from there and then he's covered "in country".
  6. The best, in mho, is the kind that you get cheap enough (FREE) to change before you have to, like every 2,000 miles.
  7. While you're at it, why not look to expand the product line to include lightweight jackets or vests?
  8. Having to search for snow; now that's funny.
  9. I was just listening to "Car Talk" this A.M. and there was a call that sounded similar to your problem. They said it might be low compression not building enough pressure to get to ignition temperature. Check the compression. Add some Heat - that'll take care of the water problem - buy a magnetic oil pan heater and plug it in.
  10. Iassume you're talking about this in your brat (as seen in the sig. block). Is it just the steering? The shaking at those speeds and then the disappearance sounds more like u - joints or possibly c v joints. If it is just steering, that would be more likely associated with wheel balance or alignment problems.
  11. It really kind of matters where in AK you live. If you live in Anchorage or Fairbanks where you have to pass IM inspections, it won't work as you'll never get it past the inspector. It'll blow his mind. If you are in an outlying area, you can probably sell it eventually as there are a few enthusiasts, but you'd do better advertising it in the lower 48. Sure, it would haul a$$, but the bottom line is that the blue book value for it will still be based on the host car, at least that's how an insurance company will approach it.
  12. Where is this Assieland? I may want to check it out.
  13. Welcome, Jason. We look forward to your collection of knowledge and experience. I think you'll also find there is a good collection of knowledge and experience here that is willing to hep you should you find the need.
  14. Those have mud-bogging written all over them. Keep up the scouting.
  15. Use the search function on this as there are numerous threads about this problem. In fact, edrach has written a couple himself which are about as good of a guarantee as you can get.
  16. How is the return spring on the clutch pedal?
  17. Where in Alaska? There are a few of us and some are pretty "scoobied" up on things.
  18. You are fine as is, but don't push it too much farther.Oil is pretty cheap and a lot cheaper than other alternatives.
  19. Welcome to the USMB, and there are a number of members in the land of 10,000 ponds. Hope to see more of you on the threads.
  20. I hope you're carrying survival gear with you and a shovel. On the way back, if you have trouble and get past Tok, give me a call and I'll come pick you up. I'll PM you my home phone number.
