  1. Most shops will install your glass, but won't guarantee they won't break it in the process. Starting in 1984, all windshields used urethane to glue the windshield in place, so it may be difficult for you to remove your old one. Carefully cut the old glue next to the glass with a razor knife and then have a friend hold slight pressure against the glass on the outside while you "kick" the shield out from the inside. Put a blanket on the hood just in case, and duct tape the defroster vents.
  2. Wish I could make it again this year, but I'll have been back in school for better than a week this year. I know it'll be a blast. Hope you guys and gals have good weather.
  3. If Torxxx can't come up with one, I've got one sitting on my cadaver motor. You know the price.
  4. Check the two vacuum lines to thew right and below the air cleaner. It sounds like they are switched around. And welcome to the board.
  5. There is also a solenoid type switch that can leak, and it appears as if the tranny is in neutral. My son's 92 Legacy requires a minute of idling in the winter to pump the fluid into the switch. That might be it???
  6. Grant, where are you located, and where did you go wheeling?
  7. use the old cable. Sometimes it goes right in, other times it requires a bit of patience.
  8. If you're in Eastern WA, contact bratsrus1 (Jerry). He's a pro at those swaps.
  9. When I put one in my Brat, the only problem I had was the shifting mechanism - the plate on it - was a bit short, so I had to fab a short extension. Other than that, it went very smoothly. A slight mod to the shifter itself to improve the throw, but that was merely a preference of mine.
  10. The 2.2 is arguably the most reliable motor in the Subaru stall, virtually bulletproof. If the same could be said for the 2.5, I'd have to eat my words.
  11. I have 96 Legacy seats in my Brat.
  12. Bought an 83 Brat in Oregon in 2003 and drove it back to AK non stop. Snowman drove his ea 82 wagon from AK to WCSS last summer and back. No problems.
  13. How does one play "Taps" on a computer keyboard?
  14. Hey, could you loan me a couple K? Fine job, Old Schooler.
  15. Welding up the carrier bearing is the hitch. In a Brat, there isn't enough stout metal to weld to. I'm running the 1 piece, and have had no trouble. But then again, you may be running places I don't want to take my Brat (yet).
  16. Also, any air intake under the hood gets sprayed with water when water hits the fan blades.
  17. Good write up. I, however, just bought a pretty good hoist for $169.00. It make life pretty simple.
